  1. now 9: left, 3-2. Now UNH with a flurry. Almost tie it. Would be really frustrating to play this well and not get the W.
  2. 11: left, still 3-2. Radke with a chance in front. UND still looking good ...
  3. Sioux with some more good chances off transition. Trupp is coming really close ...
  4. 16: left, still 3-2. Long stretch with no whistle and no good chances, ending with a great 4-2 rush by the Sioux. Forney on the doorstep stopped by Regan. Now Genoway off the post.
  5. Bit of controversy. SC led 1-0 late in the 3rd, when a play the Huskies thought was blown down wasn't and Miami scored to tie it. SC gave them all they wanted.
  6. Woo - next year the Sioux play at the GLI. That was announced on the Michigan broadcast ... still 0-0 at the Joe with 5: left. If it goes to OT, they play until its decided, the old fashioned way.
  7. ARGH! I got owned.
  8. In Mpls, 3-3 after 2. Tech and Michigan scoreless late in the 3rd. Denver leading Dartmouth, early, 1-0 RPI leading CC 2-0 after 2. CC playing without 5 players.
  9. End of 2, still 3-2. Zamboni coming out soon.
  10. No Lady Byng for Duncan.
  11. 1: left Duncan and Fritsch coincidentals.
  12. 1:30 left, 3-2 still SOG 22-19, but we're getting the good chances, UNH with more long uncontested shots. Doesn't seem to matter which line, we're getting pressure.
  13. 2: left, still 3-2. On yet another transition, Lapoint (!) with a couple chances right in front of Regan. This sounds like a broken record, but we are repeatedly beating them on transitions.
  14. 4: left in the second, still 3-2. Finley, on yet another transition, leads the Sioux 4-3 into the zone. Can't get a good chance.
  15. Duncan with 2 great chances on another transition, then Lapoint stopped. Sioux looking good now.
  16. Vandevelde sets up Watkins for a great chance on the doorstep. Regan right on it. Then UNH comes down with a couple nice chances. Still 3-2, 5: left.
  17. A bit of color for our colleague in the Persian Gulf. Sioux are transitioning really well tonight. We're getting some 3-2 and 3-1 rushes but haven't converted (except for 1). The UNH goal came after a 3-2 shorthanded rush, and we just didn't get our coverage set before it was in the net. Overall, we're looking pretty good. Especially for a Saturday.
  18. It was well executed by UNH, but our box got overextended and we gave them the cross-ice pass.
  19. On USCHO, someone (a Gopher fan) posted its 2-1 RIT in Minneapolis.... edit - now 2-2
  20. National anthem on.
  21. I don't think it was an acting job at all. I think he got the wind knocked out of him.
  22. I liked the moves. I like Oshie at center. (Of course, we should all be worried about where the Blues want Oshie to be played. ) I also like VandeVelde at center. Splitting them gives us better scoring balance - teams will check Oshie-Duncan-[anyone] pretty hard anyway, so better scoring threats elsewhere up and down the lineup will help take the pressure off. I agree about Genoway-Trupp-Frattin. They created a lot last night and could have had more than one. Before the break, faceoffs were a problem for the Sioux. And we didn't have as much puck possession as we're used to. Check the faceoffs from last night, an early indicator of what's working: http://www.fightingsioux.com/downloads1/30...DB_OEM_ID=13500
  23. Condolences also to Tim and family. I only met him once (long long time ago), but his familiar voice makes him feel like family. Godspeed.
  24. OK, nobody i) shave; ii) change their underwear; iii) wash their socks; iv) sit in a different seat; v) eat a different pre-game meal.
  25. Once again, Wisconsin dragging down the conference RPI ...
