A #1 seed is a strong possibility (displacing Miami). They only need to lose a game or two to their relatively weak opponents, and the Sioux need a bit of a run. I can't see us displacing Michigan, DU or CC at this point. Which is just fine, because in that event, we most likely get sent to Worcester or Albany.

Let's make an 6-team "WCHA" and a 6-team "CHA". * 20 conference games (4 vs each opponent), * plus 8 "joint scheduled games (4 series vs the other league). * Each year, the bottom team in the WCHA gets demoted, and the CHA champion gets promoted. Advantages: 1) Two auto bids. 2) Preserves Bemidji, Huntsville and other good hockey schools' D1 teams. 3) Preserves traditional rivalries. 4) Leaves room for 4-6 other games, such as GLI, Showcase, etc etc. 5) Familiar to fans of European football. Disadvantages: 1) Fewer games for UND vs Mankato. 2) Juggling schedules. 3) Don't know if special approval needed from NCAA re conference membership.

I was really hoping for a Miami loss to UNO. With how weak Miami's schedule is, it will only take a loss or two to really hurt their PWR.

I saw Pelawa at the MN State High School Tournament. I expected to see a big lug with tremendous strength, which he had. But I was mostly impressed with how agile he was, what great hands he had, and his sportsmanship. On just about every shift, he could have plastered someone into the boards, but he took care not to injure anyone. Dominant. RIP George.

I would go with Finley ... that +5 Saturday is no aberration. He's been on the ice for very few goals allowed, and logged a lot of ice time with different partners. Kaip was pretty good last year, but he's playing even bigger with the C.
