NOtre Dame's loss to Ohio State (of all the cupcakes in hockey) will help our WCHA brethren. Notre Dame was #13 in the PWR, probably drop after this bad loss. CC passes UND if they hang on tonight... AND .. if Michigan loses 2 vs State, and the Sioux sweep 2, we are a hair breadth away from passing them in PWR. .... Celebration in Mpls. 4-2 late.

I would be happy if UW doesn't get in - I would really hate to be sent to Madison to play UW in the regionals. (Going to Madison to play someone else is better, but they only way Badger fans cheer for UND is if we're playing Michigan.)

Great research - thanks! for doing the work. I think the big theme of the second half is that we're playing at outstanding tempo, especially neutral zone and on transition. That cuts both ways - fewer taken and more drawn. 1) The Sioux are drawing lots of penalties by sheer hustle, speed, tenacity. Of the 42 PP opps, Oshie alone has probably drawn 15. Guys like Trupp, Watkins, VV, similarly. 2) The Sioux aren't taking a lot of penalties, because of tempo above AND because the puck isn't in our defensive zone much. 3) This constant full-speed assault is creating lots of hits, and pi$$ing off the opposition. The only team I've seen that can flat out skate with the Sioux at full tempo is CC. I'd love to see a Final Five Title game of UND-CC.
