I think the big theme of the second half is that we're playing at outstanding tempo, especially neutral zone and on transition. That cuts both ways - fewer taken and more drawn.
1) The Sioux are drawing lots of penalties by sheer hustle, speed, tenacity. Of the 42 PP opps, Oshie alone has probably drawn 15. Guys like Trupp, Watkins, VV, similarly.
2) The Sioux aren't taking a lot of penalties, because of tempo above AND because the puck isn't in our defensive zone much.
3) This constant full-speed assault is creating lots of hits, and pi$$ing off the opposition.
The only team I've seen that can flat out skate with the Sioux at full tempo is CC. I'd love to see a Final Five Title game of UND-CC.
