  1. Heres a start http://www.hockeycanada.ca/5/1/6/0/6/index1.shtml
  2. Love this thread
  3. Why is everyone so quick to criticize when they don't even know the details. I just don't think all the harsh criticism is warranted here giving the unknowns in this situation.
  4. Talk about extreme overreaction.
  5. The one hurdle in these talks is that Santana has a no trade clause and word is if he accepts a trade, he will ask for a 7 year , 180 million dollar extension. Thats a large hurdle to deal with plus the prospects the yankees would have to give away. A better deal for the Yankees would be to trade for Dan Haren and sign Johan when he files for free agency (Which he probably will do since he turned down the twins offer of 4 years 80 million). The Yankees then would basically get a 2 for 1 deal.
  6. I think its a case of UofM being stubborn. They just like the NCAA are stereotyping all colleges and universities with Native American mascots and putting them in one category, hostile and abusive. Now that Minnesota previously made this decision, they feel there is no way they can admit they could be wrong, even if the name stands.
  7. Doesnt sound like it. http://www.startribune.com/462/story/1522125.html
  8. Parise is all over the ice. Has been an unbelievable player so far in the playoffs. THe EGG line for NJ is the most talented, but the Parise-Zajac-Langenbrunner line has by far been the best line for that team.
  9. There certainly is an advantage of recruiting to a school such as Notre Dame. It would be hard for anyone to turn down a Notre Dame education. But Notre Dame is a football school. It is not known for its hockey. I think you have to give credit to Jackson for showing people that they DO have a hockey team. I think the success of this year will open up the doors for some good recruits in the near future.
  10. Hakstol is a great coach and very deserving of the award but you cant take away what Jeff Jackson did at ND this year. He took a mid major school into the elite class. He deserves alot of credit. Hakstol should have great expectations with the talent that he can bring in year in and year out. Thats why Dave probably wont win. UND is the big time. All recruits and NHL franchises know this.
  11. So current word on the street is 80/20. That is 80% Toews is gone and 20% hes here. Better chance than I would of thought. And I guess Lee is more apt to leave than everyone thinks. Consensus is that he is unhappy and most likely will leave. This is the word going around.
  12. I am a big fan of the Nike swift jersey. First off, they are really sharp. Second I think it helps limit some of the clutching and grabbing with the smaller, tighter fitting jerseys. Third, they dont get wet. Im sure it is nice having a dry jersey at the end of the game. I vote a big yes
  13. This is all I have to say and everyone knows it! haha "Outlined against a blue-gray March sky the Three Horsemen skated again. In dramatic lore they are known as Pain, Destruction, and Death. They are only aliases. Their real names are: Massen, Fabian and Canady" Seriously.. has anyone seen anything prettier than an Erik Fabian wraparound goal?? I didnt think so.. haha We can put that 2005 frozen four win over the gophers on Fabians shoulders
  14. Hate is a pretty strong word. Im pretty sure no one hates him. He was a top ten draft pick and people expect him to play like it. There is no doubt he is a good player but people just want to see him be a great player.
  15. Radke got in a fight last year against Mankato where he routed someone pretty good.
  16. Did anyone else see Bina lay out that mavericks player at center ice?? The mankato player had Bina lined up and I thought Robbie was going to get crushed until they collided. That mankato player was seeing stars humped over the bench after that hit. I thought it would be the hit of the game but it was away from the play so maybe it wasnt on camera. Robbie Bina is the machine that stole your quarter!!
  17. That line can definitely carry a team.. Unbelievable to watch. You cant get better than a game with 12 goals and four fights. I give props to the boys for a great effort and for defending the home rink. Can't wait for tomorrow!
  18. There was no way Lee could not have been in a fight. He was toe to toe with mankato with the ar calmly next to him and the crowd behind him. Sometimes you just have to step up and make a statement. Its what we need to see from Lee, no aruguement. This is UND's turf. They proved this last night... take off . good night mankato.
  19. In USA Today it said the Devils were able to put away Mogilny's contract and right away signed Gionta, Martin, and Hale.
  20. Mewelde I think has been hurt.. knee???.. he is too good of a player to let him go
  21. Lets leave the twinkies out of this... how can you hate on the twins, the most likeable team in MLB.
  22. Overall it was just a sloppy game and Parise really cant be blamed for the loss I know but hopefully this team can be something special again next year.
  23. There is no way that I am blaming Jordie for the loss because he got us here and I just hope he is back with the majority of the team next year... maybe I am just venting but if you would of told me that we would have scored 5 goals on Corey Schneider I would have told you there is no way we lose... As tough as it is... the freshmen finally played like freshman and Jordie wasnt there to bail them out
  24. No soft goals?? I know the defense left him out to dry a couple of times but dont tell me he didnt let in some soft ones... The third and fourth goals in particular.. that third goal was a luck goal but there is no way he shouldnt be covering the pipe and the fourth five hole goal was brutal.. When Parise is on his game he is a high quality tender but tonight he was brutal. I am not taking anything away from him but I am just saying to those who think he is a flight risk is just plain unreasonable. And yes it is a risk putting Lamoureux in but Parise still did let in 3 goals after the first. When Parise is on his game he is unbelievable such as the sconi game but tonight he reminded me of the early gopher series.
  25. Parise is a great college goaltender but all this talk about Parise leaving early is ridiculous. Jordan showed his colors tonight by giving up many soft goals. I just dont get how people can think that Parise can play in the NHL and is going to leave early. Lamoureux should have relieved Parise after the 1st period and every one watching the game knows it...
