I don’t know if this posted or not but didn’t want to read all the other stuff.

Im surprised DeMontagnac is listed as a starter. Nice to see McNeal listed as starter. Noticed New Mexico DL transfer not listed on 2 deep but the transfer nose is listed as starter.

Buckner and KK listed at safety, I would assume Fort is in the mix there and wouldn’t be surprised if he starts later this year.

From what I saw at fall camp, this 2 deep is about right. Mildly surprised no Kory Tai but not really. Don’t need him. Don’t burn the shirt just yet.

larger freshman class means larger classes in the next years too

IF you can retain them. Some schools in the RRV are having a hard time with the retention end of things.

Credit hours is a big factor in the SBHE / NDUS funding formula.

UND is up by more than 2,100 total student credit hours on the first day of classes this fall. That should continue to increase until Census Day.

Crazy how quick that game turned around last year. It started with that awful pick 6.

In hindsight, serverly telegraphed by #2 and lazy route/reaction by #89.

    I see a QB room ... finally.

Should the 2023 Walter Payton Award Watchlist starter have a problem both 3 and 6 look to be able to step in.

Do not burn a year of 11.

    Well said.

If I may be preachy -- Unless you are a fan of SDSU this year, there are restless souls on every message board looking for the next flashy thing constantly. God, bless them. It comes out in threads about our communities as much as it does in threads about our athletics. Theses are the individuals who will call for the "future" of the franchise to jump the process, while their head is still swimming, trying to figure out college social life in a new town, their class schedule and the best way to get around campus and not be late, team meetings, strength and conditioning demands, deciphering a DI level playbook and all the other plights of new freshmen.  Then, when the "future" finally gets his shot(s), these same individuals immediately start calling for the next big thing after the once-so-called "future" begins exhibiting even the slightest flaws (skill, mental or otherwise), maybe an occasional inevitable INT, or throws into double coverage, or doesn't adequately go through his progression, or causes a false start or two or three, or mistakenly runs into a sack, or short arms it on a long bomb, or God forbid mans the helm during an occasional loss, etc. As the once-so-called "future" builds more of a resume and exposes his game, the restless souls will get, well, restless, and start talking about that next wunderkind in the recruiting pipeline. Thus is life in message board world.

Anyone seen any "Day One" enrollment numbers from any of the NDUS schools?
    @Teeder11 any insights?

Yes, yes, ... "official" fall numbers come in like week four ...

The first day numbers I saw are really really good. Up a lot compared to last fall's first day numbers. That's amazing in the current climate. I will have more definitive numbers soon.

Carroll was awful. Won’t miss him. Borud will be better, but won’t take much.

Better yes, but got to get the tendency for high snaps out of his system.  Tommy’s. barely 6 feet. :)

What was really tough for UND in the Big Sky was no United flight to Denver.  That would likely have cut a lot of costs, certainly shortened flight times and just been generally more convenient.  I remember a couple of times being on flights out of Devils Lake with UND athletes for that very reason.  USD backing out certainly didn't help as it cut out a longtime rival and it made UND an island for the other Big Sky teams.

Very true. That was due to the SD Board of Regents stepping in at the midnight hour to nix USD's intention to join the BSC. This is why it's hard for me to see how they would allow SDSU to go FBS, without USD, if the two teams ever desired to do such a thing. However, maybe times have changed. I don't know anything anymore in the current environment.

That's why I was wondering about timing. Was Carroll healthy at the start of Fall camp, or have they been working with those four (that are healthy) the entire time? Would be nice to give a 60/40 split against Drake to the top two on the depth chart.

Carroll's been a non-participant at fall camp.  He's been at every practice that I've seen, though. Helping with drills and such.  Just not participating. Peyton, too.

Was just listening to the 360 podcast, breaking down the O-Line. Was not aware that Carroll is out for the year with a back injury. Huge loss. Both Centers that played last year will not be playing this year. Does anyone know when this injury happened? Recent? They have four working at Center right now, Borud, Lavell, Olson, Buxa.

Borud has performed well in fall reps. He’s bigger than Carroll and Peyton.  High snaps are a concern for me. Got to clean those up but Carroll had the yips with snaps as well. Depth behind Borud is green lol at center but miles ahead talent wise and body size than previous years.

Think it's more realistic that this guy provides depth at 4/3 spot.

This tells me that UND really likes Amar K and T at the 5 spot.

Now really the only "big" news they are waiting on is Tyree's eligibility. Which I don't think the odds are great... but still a chance

I heard same. Long long shot.

All these things you listed happen to EVERY team consistently, especially over the wide sample size of seasons you're using.  On the flipside, our special teams have affected many of these things on other teams consistently over the same span of seasons. What I am most critical about, and where I am hoping for big improvements this season, is our kick coverage and kick blocking.

EDIT: That last sentence could be read two ways. By “kick blocking,” I mean blocking for our returners.

Sorry just noticed that this new direction to this thread does not belong here. My bad.
