GF doesnt need anymore indoor ice...according to some leaders in this community

Some of that area has been ear marked for new office space for the administration which is in the fund raising budget of the administration.

This whole situation is becoming a embaressment to the university....I am assuming that the boss's hands are tied since the head coach for the women's hockey team is the favorite of a certain administrator residing in Twamley Hall....if this isnt taken care of....this could damage future recruiting....kids talk amongst themselves a lot...word will get out of the real reasons these things are going on...and it will affect the program until the situation is taken care of.

indeed....maybe the Moorhead St. Assistant coach is interested in the job....i find it funny that the guys on fox sports at 6 o clock made fun of UND for not having a press conference for a guy who has been at UND for 18 years!!!

How long would you assume it would take to reign this budget in??? I know for a fact Mr. Kupchella gave him a year...two max....hope his time table works with that!!!!!!!!!! Which obviously it hasnt!!!!! Editor for Sioux Illustrated....Executive Secretary.....Office Administrator......AD in charge of operations.......Asst AD for marketing who was getting paid by REA to work with UND....instead...now UND is paying his entire salary....and what does UND need a marketing or a facility AD for??? UND doesnt play in its own buildings....or do any of its own marketing...REA does it all!!!!! BRILLIANT!!!!!!!! My point about saying that about your current coach under contract shows no loyality what so eve to Coach Glas.....he has no choice but to take the job now....after statements from his boss like that!!! How would you feel if you applied for another job and yhour boss said who ever takes over for you...will do a lot better job than yourself....after all Rich has done for UND...he deserves better than that....if he decides to leave...then let him leave without a statement like that!!! That was uncalled for!!!!!!!

Someone please tell me why your boss would come out in the local paper and state that He wants to take a program to places it hasnt been before, other local teams can find a way to get it done, so why cant our MBB team do this... Even if this is true and going on, which i am not saying the team has been stellar, but Rich deserves better than his boss coming out in the local paper and bashing him!!!! He has shown loyality and committment to turning out good young men, no employee should have to deal with this!!! If all the other athletic depts in our conference can stay in budget, why cant UND, if all other athletic depts in our conference can run a dept without 6 Asst. AD's, why cant UND...same difference!!! I found those remarks appalling!! Now onto the WDAZ news last night that stated EERC can have the old Engelstad arena... to use as a parking ramp no less.....are you kidding me....build a ramp.......he was on tv saying the athletic director told him personally he could have the building and the land....I am sure glad the coaching staff found this out on the news!!! WOW......someone please show the clueless the DOOR!!!!!!

Or fear of losing their scholarship. Who is to say the new coach gets rid of all players and honors none of the scholarships...its in the players best interest to back him....that way they know their safe...which is why players opinion should not count...especially of solicitated!!!

Would be a good idea to check what REA promised to contribute to UND Athletics and what Figure was actuatly transfered? Before we lay this all on Rogers lap. I do not believe REA has ever lived up to the numbers yet. Where else would it lay?? Why would you let someone else solve all of your problems for you. That is his fault no one elses!!!

It would not surprise me to see a certain AD on board already who has sucked up to the new boss become the Associate AD....at least those are his lofty goals in life!!! Go from sharpening skates to not showing up at your job to Assoc. AD fits in with everything else!!!

It is truely a shame UND is losing Rob. I hope some people wake up!!! He was and still IS the BEST MAN for the JOB!!!! Before he even thought of leaving UND the JOB should have been his!!!!! I hope the boss is happy now....no more looking over your shoulder?? No more leaving Rob off committees!!! No more worrying if he could have done the job better!!!! IT IS TRUELY A SAD DAY!!!!! UND just lost the best man next to Mr. Clifford UND could have had!!!!!! THAT IS WITHOUT ARGUMENT!!!!!!

Just curious why no one is talking about how UND beat all of these teams by a fair amount of points then, later in the year....all the games have gotten so much closer??? So St. Cloud St. got better but UND didnt??

Nothing to explain....if you know what the golden rule is....and if you live by it....you dont have anything to worry about....then again...if you dont treat others how you would like to be treated and cheat the system and treat people around you poorly....hopefully you wont reep the benefits....and the golden rule prevails again!!!!! Actually this position was re posted. I guess no CPA's want to work for 30,000. Wasnt the salary range for executive secretary a range up to 30,000?? So a CPA and a executive secretary are worth the same amount of money?? Where is this logic?? I wonder how many CPA's in GF are working for 30,000 a year or even bumped up to 35,000?? Any previous Administrative experience would be helpful here!!

Did his assumptions include only 5223 showing up (lowest Alerus Center attendance for a UND FB game ever) to a game? That has nothing to do with the bid process. Every team has the chance to bid the minimum, and UND did not bid the minimum, its that simple!!! Once again, before jumping on someone, know the facts!! Any team that has the better record and bid the minimum will host a playoff game, but this bidder obviously did not know this!!!!!!!! Like I stated, better qualified people should have been approached, then again, those people might not have been dancing on tables and giving skates and sticks away!!!

I wonder if The Naval Academy would promote a person from Army or give them a administrative position when there were other naval academy people who were more qualifited for the position? The irony is the fact that this instructor filled out a bid for NCAA football and lost 23,000 on one game, good thing UND only hosted one instead of 4. That is the irony.

I dont think its too hard to connect the dots on this one. If UND loses Rob, IMO, it would be the WORST thing that could happen to UND!!!! Kup and Phil should move to give him the AD job ASAP, keep him here, keep him happy!!!!! Asking to go to Bemidji to a lesser title should tell you what is going on!!! The outsider strikes AGAIN!!!

That wont happen. If the new boss wont get rid of a volleyball coach that has underachieved for 8 years, he will not get rid of coach Glas. But the new boss can get rid of a ticket manager that has worked at UND for 26 years and was one year and 3 months from full retirement, but wont do anything to a volleyball coach who has a track record like hers--JOKE!!!

So using that logic. How can a GF kid come back to GF and score more points than over half the team of UND. Is Minot St. D 1 now? Did I miss something??

I think your wrong!! Hockey does not want the rest of the school to go D1, they feel it will drain all of their resources to fund the move!!!

pretty easy to figure out why UND swimming is so much better in the conference by those numbers, dont you think?
