Would guess the record is Kevin Maxwell in the late 70's with 82 or 83 points, but recently not many putting up huge numbers. Not many players reach 50 points in a season anymore, especially freshmen.
-
That kind of answers my question. If there is that much volatility, then things will probably wash out at some time. Would be interesting to see if Minnesota would drop below Mankato with a loss tomorrow. My guess is they would, since it will be the rubber match.

I'm no Pairwise expert, but it just seems strange that Minnesota is at 17 in the Pairwise with a 5-9 non-conference record in a bad league, and St. Lawrence has an almost identical overall record with a better non-conference record from a good league, and they are at 27th in the Pairwise. Is it still too early for all the comparisons, or what. Just seems like a big discrepancy considering the non-conference records and the respective leagues.

Thank you! What was the stat Schlossman gave on the only teams to sweep in Kalamazoo in the past whatever is St. Cloud and UND, and doing it without the guys left at home and Stecher in the 3rd, and people are talking about negatives. Blows my mind, and apparently Schlossman's as well.
-
What's with Stecher being out?
-
Yeah, if that wasn't worthy of a penalty shot, I don't know what is. Turns out the 4-3 might have been a better option for us anyway.

Western seems to be emboldened and now resorting to tackling.
-
Exactly, Gersich got rid of the puck and the guy still plastered him well after the puck left. Not only was it obstruction, but the guy got to add a little hurt free of charge. What happened to the recent push to call obstruction. Guess Sheppard is exempt from the memo.

Seriously? The all time leading scorer for Wisconsin, along with tons of time in the NHL as a player and assistant coach, and by the way he won one of those National Championships that you ripped Hakstol for not winning. Parise and Suter both said he was one of the best coaches that they have ever had. He may have run his course, but he had way more of a resume than Johnson.

Sounds like a lot of UND fans. Nobody thinks anyone should ever come close to UND. If they do, it is because UND played poorly.

St. Cloud's power play is so good. At first thought, I figure that will get them a long way in the tourney, but I think if they face a disciplined team, or if they don't click in the post season like they do now, they could be ripe for the upset. Guess that can be said of any team, but St. Cloud seems to rely heavily on a potent PP. On the other end of the spectrum, their PK is not so good. UND seems to be scoring o.k. without the PP, so if they start to connect at the right time it could help our chances. Will be interesting to see how those things play out in the postseason.

For those that thought this weekend would or should be easy, Schlossman made a ton of great points in his Friday rewind. http://undhockey.areavoices.com/?p=102147

I still think we get either CC or Western in the first round of the playoffs. Could see Western back to back weekends. Not too crazy about playing a really physical team four times in a row during playoffs, but might beat some of the other alternatives.
-
Is there only webcast for Friday's game?

Since Poolman is older, it might be a pipe dream, but would be nice if they had a Poolman family reunion at UND next year. Probably doesn't help the Jets will miss the playoffs this year and will be looking for immediate help with Poolman plus Connor from Michigan.

Not saying they don't have talented players, or that they don't have any players with grit, but when you look at heart and soul guys, maybe Okposo fits the description more than the others, although Wheeler and Martin do play hard. When you look at the two groups as a whole, you have many more heart and soul guys that are captain material like Matt Greene than you see from the gophers, and likewise, you don't see as many of the "softer" one-way players that come from UND. Don't want to do the same as gopher fans and stereotype all of their players like that, but as a whole, you do see a bit of a difference.
-
... and with the knowledge of what happened with the previous President at his disposal, he still chose to "treat" himself.
-
Backwards huh? Hagerott checked and found that the other Presidents fly coach. But don't let facts get in your way.
-
Lucia is just like a bunch of gopher fans in that they just want somebody to stereotype as dirty or cheap in contrast to them being complete saints. Then you get to the pro ranks and see which players garner the respect of their teammates from the way they play the game hard. Parise, Toews, Oshie, Porter, Zajac etc. or Vanek, Schroeder, Kessel, Haula, etc. I know what type of player I would want on my team, even with a talent disparity in some cases.

Did Coyd ever decommit?
-
Come to think of it, we had a pretty good streak going before the change as well. I put the loss to Omaha and the tie with CC on the jersey change.
-
Don't get me wrong, I think this team has been focused better than I ever would have anticipated considering all the freshmen on the team, but every team is going to have some lapses, it's just a matter of whether they are substantial enough to cost them a game. I hear Berry and some of the players talk about the need to be consistent and win both games because you will have to do that in the tournament. I think it's good that mentality is a part of their thinking already.

These are kids that don't have the benefit of years of seeing what happens when teams get overlooked. We saw it last weekend with being ahead of CC by a lot. I'm sure the coaches warned them that the game wasn't over, but until it actually happens sometimes it falls on dear ears. I would hope after the Wisconsin and CC games they would be ready to go, but players see the same things and stats as fans do. I have no doubt that the players would be ripped to no end if it happened against Western Michigan, but sometimes fans need to show a little more respect for teams too, especially if they expect the players to do so. Western Michigan has beaten some good teams, so they play well on occasion. The key will be to jump on them early and let them get the "here we go again" feeling.
-
I don't know if they can do that. I would guess the NCAA requires an overtime to try get an outcome. If they did allow it, then I believe they would have to consider it a tie after regulation, because they don't recognize 3 on 3, or any result after the regular overtime.
-
Wisconsin wasn't supposed to be a problem either, but weird things do happen, especially if you approach it from the perspective that it shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure UND felt that way after they got up on CC 4-0, so hopefully they will be on guard against that.
