  1. Does anyone remember what Trupp, Frattin, Malone, Hextall, LaPoint, and Marto, looked like in game 2 of their freshman years? Hell, you couldn't find Frattin with a search light until his Junior season. R-E-L-A-X This team will be better as the season goes along. Would everyone on this board rather UND scheduled Maine in the early season or Sacred Heart like some other loser schools do? I would rather the Sioux play quality opponents for non-conference.
  2. I think it was a good lesson for the young guys. agree that our returners from last year need to play better...aka #4,#24.. also, thought the Sioux got lazy in a lot of the game with blind backhand passes on offense and allowing BC players to camp in the slot on Defense. the Sioux will be good this year, it just might take a little while. Every fan should be used to that scenario in the early season. Will they be good enough at the end of the year....? that's what matters.
  3. yes, and also the reason he's playing wing instead of center.
  4. Per Schlossman...look for Grimaldi to be in the lineup tonight.
  5. As it's been said, the youth up front is really going to be an issue for a while. When Grimaldi gets in the lineup, that should make all the lines better. I'd like to see Mattson getting more minutes on D. His speed and passing have really been impressive. In 2 games, i think he and Gleason have been the best puck moving pair. Getting a win tonight would be huge. Down goes BC!!!
  6. As USA Hockey just reminded me, 7 NCHC teams made the national tournament last year. In the Big Ten it was...Wisco, Minnesota, Penn State, Michigan State, Ohio State, Michigan.
  7. Try calling the box office
  8. Lou Nanne says on KFAN that Litteri signing helped sign Guertler since they're buddies and played together for a couple years. also, dad from MN helped also.
  9. Looks like Chay will be in the lineup again tonight at an arena he is familiar with---the X. game can be streamed on wild.com http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/130438568.html
  10. Chay will be in the lineup tomorrow night for the Wild in St.Louis http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/130283488.html
  11. Matt Frattin on Leafs TV talking about his summer and the season ahead with the Leafs. Some nice mentions of UND as well. http://video.mapleleafs.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=802&id=122390
  12. am I missing something....omitted from the list were: Moe, Larry, and Curly.
  13. C- Blood A- Lammy A- McWilliam just a guess
  14. No...You won't. Hopefully, you are old enough to remember seeing me and my line in person.
  15. Roughnecks...? are you serious...? you think that would be flattering on tv or within a league? Marlboro Man for a logo? Most unique name that i know of is the Polar Bears. phrase is too long i know. it sucks, but it is original. Go Larimore!
  16. agree. although, don't know how many fans they would draw with Moorhead High and the Force in the area.
  17. Yeah...he exudes Goofer arrogance to the fullest. Blaming the other schools for doing what they think is best, while UM and UW started all this mess. It's pretty easy to say "B1G" was inevitable and UM had nothing to do with it, but then turn around and blame UND and DU for thinking for themselves on the deal??? his attitude is right in line with what I'd expect. basically, he says, ...we're set, but others shouldn't do anything that will kill the small guys. Doh-Kay. State of Hockey is a joke. On the other hand, I don't totally believe this move is the best for college hockey or the Sioux. Personally as a fan, I will miss having most road games within driving distance.. The local connection and rivalries will be lost since it will hinder streams of Sioux fans traveling all over Minnesota to see games in opposing rinks like in present times. I do know that St.Cloud, Mankato, etc... will miss the added revenue the city receives as a result of UND not playing in those arenas year after year. also, the regional rivalries and fan interaction will fade away. One thing i do disagree with most college bloggers is that the lost revenue at the rinks for teams that are left out. i have seen some of our best Sioux teams play in front of 800-1200 spectators at opposing rinks. if not for Sioux fans, the buildings would be empty. so, i don't think rink revenue will suffer all that much for the left behind schools at the gate. Michigan Tech will still have the same amount of fans at the games in Houghton whether they play Mankato or North Dakota.. Revenue sharing with tournaments etc, is the killer for them.
  18. UNDSID had a itchy trigger finger...... Go Gregs..#17 in your Jet's program, #1 in your hearts.
  19. You never know with goaltenders.....Eids could end up being the guy next year. Odds are against it, but anything can happen at that position.
  20. i can't see it. is the sky falling yet?
  21. I've seen many a college player leave a year early and never make it to the big league. imo, Hextall isn't ready. Why leave college to skate in the AHL or lower?
  22. Hextall...really? where do you read this? HF board?
  23. Congrats, Chay. Too bad you're signed with the Mild, tho.
