  1. I was looking through the Blackhawk's message board and came across this radio interview with Toews, I believe it's from this week. http://www.92citifm.ca/mp3s/2007/jontoews02.mp3 I would like to think that the idea of going back to the World Juniors for a third time might keep him at UND another year, but only time will tell....
  2. My brother lives a few blocks from the arena, I'll see if he can go
  3. Not to take anything away from the position of President of the University.... but what does this mean for the logo? What if the next president doesn't support the logo, or doesn't care what the majority of the students/staff/faculty/population thinks? On the other hand, what if we get a President that completely supports the use of the Fighting Sioux nickname and continues to fight the NCAA...
  4. Here are some of my pictures from Fri and Sat night. Fri and Sat pictures Just click on slideshow and you can see the pictures bigger. I've also got pictures from most home games and the series in Madison if anyone is interested in me putting those up as well.
  5. Yeah... I've got a picture from the other side. Fabian is the one standing on the red line up top and Oshie is to his right with both arms up. On the other side of Fabian it's Martens, Kaip, Lee
  6. or Zelkin... haven't seen him in awhile...
  7. New National Awards The second one is really interesting! The Derek Hines Unsung Hero Award Who would you nominate?
  8. For those of you that weren't at the game last night, but get to see the game tonight... make sure you check out #17 from Bemidji when he does faceoffs. He has a very unique approach (which didn't work very well last night). He basically does the splits so he's only a few inches off the ice... it's definitly interesting to watch
  9. My parents are coming to town to visit me and I called the Ralph box office and they are already sold out. If anyone has any extra tickets for that Saturday, I would be interested in buying them from you. Just send me a message! Thanks! Jennifer
  10. Any suggestions/recommendations for first time Bemidji goers? How early to get there? Heard parking was bad... Any must stop for food places? Etc
  11. Who all is going to Bemidji??? My friends and I have a group of 12 that are going... I'm so excited, we've had tickets for like two months... and it's finally time to go!!!
  12. I saw Bishop around campus all through finals week
  13. Further into the Fightingsioux.com article we get a reasoning for the pregame center ice incident:
  14. Seriously??? haha! And what about a HE player and ref getting in a fight???
  15. From Fightingsioux.com just some quotes from Phil in their article: Obviously blaming the refs isn't going to get you very far... (although I do have a universal hate for referees... sorry to those of you that may be refs). But I just thought that it was interesting to get the goalie's perspective...
  16. Phil was very into the whole game... he had a very interesting game to say the least. Some of the things that I noticed: I thought that Phil was generally last off after warm ups when he started... however, I saw about ten players still on the ice and he was no where to be found... so I thought that was a little weird. During introductions, not sure if I just don't play attention, but he was standing in the goal before his name got called. And then when he skated out in his spotlight, they put the wrong picture on the scoreboard and it was actually Brittany Kirkham, one of the women's players. There were a few times when Phil had the puck covered that UAA players were slashing at his glove, but I also saw him get up one or two times and basically cross checked the player right back. He made some great saves, even in overtime when he didn't have his stick. As for his actions at the end of the game.... nothing in particular seemed to set him off. I saw him talking to the ref like he wanted to speak with him after the game, and so I watched when he was hanging around center ice. As Stromer mentioned, it seemed like it was directed at the UAA goalie, Lawson. Lawson's helmet came off three or four times, he got taken out two or three times... and complained (I mean talked) to the ref a lot...
  17. a team that swept us with Grieco in net...
  18. Although he did get a haircut... so that's a plus!
  19. Well aren't you just the spelling police... fixed!
  20. I thought it was aimed at the ref... but after discussing it with my suitemates, we've decided that it was aimed at the UAA goalie.... He skated out to center ice area, puts his stick between his legs, and starts rubbing his blocker hand up and down it like he's masterbating... It was pretty funny, but I have a feeling if Hak saw it, he won't be pleased... although almost everyone was off the ice, so I'm thinking he didn't see it...
  21. I'm trying to figure out how to phrase it so that it might come out a little less inappropriate...
  22. Anyone see Phil's actions AFTER the game??? If you thought throwing the puck on the ground after making a stop was bad... you didn't see the half of it!
  23. I see that #9 for SSM, Derek is already committed to Wisconsin... bummer, he was a lot of fun to watch. All over the ice, on the power play, and the penalty kill, seemed to play well in both ends. I hope to catch some games after class tomorrow... so we'll see if I pick up on anyone else looking good.
  24. I was at both games tonight on the Main Rink. The Little Cesear's team from Detroit wasn't very impressive in the first period, but then scored four goals in about three minutes at the end of the second and ended up winning 5-1 or 5-2. The SSM/WI game was pretty entertaining. A lot of whistles, mainly icing and offsides. SSM outshot WI 45ish to about 17. Nice shootout goal by D. Toews. For SSM, I liked #9 a lot, Leah will have to help me with the names as she has the program. And #16, the one mentioned by AZ was pretty good. Blood is definitly bigger than the rest of the team! Murray seems like he'll be one heck of a player, and I wish we had him on our team... lots of hussle! But I'm freezing, tired, and have class in the morning... if I remember anything else, I'll add it later
  25. I saw part of the UAA team in the Union today...
