  1. Well, if anyone searches for #creamed they'll land on siouxsports.com.
  2. "Saucy Rossy"? Thanks, John, you add another dimension to this game.
  3. I wonder what Coleman's thinking right now. Maybe that playing dirty has its consequences & it's not the right way to play hockey?
  4. Wow, Miami with an empty net with over 11 minutes remaining.
  5. I thought I had eaten some tainted tofu & was hallucinating, but you're right, the difference in speed during both games was night & day. I don't think that speed differential was due to nerves...
  6. From what I've seen the past couple of days, UND is going to have to earn their 8th championship. That means no 10-minute lapses in the second period, no passengers, a lot of blocked shots, playing smart blah blah blah & wanting it more than their opponents. That championship trophy won't be placed at their feet, both the players and the coaches will have to want it more than their opponents.
  7. Better a 2-goal lead than 2-goal deficit.
  8. Blais taking Omaha to Nattyville..Would be surreal for UND to face them in the final.
  9. At least Duluth is leaving everything on the ice.
  10. Looks like Miami misses Coleman & Barber big time; bad time to go without a couple of 20-goal scorers. But hey, they won the conference playoff championship this year so they have at least that banner.
  11. If you're going to make an early exit, wouldn't hurt to at least make a whimper. Tech impressed me as being much more talented than Mankato...
  12. Great, a double dose of Buccigross and Melrose. If I have a shot of whiskey every time he says "twisted wrister!", I'll have alcohol poisoning before the 1st intermission.
  13. Mankato about to flame out like one of Elton John's Candles in the Wind...sad way to go against a glorified D3 team...
  14. Perhaps, but we don't know what they're thinking. What we do know by their actions is that they aren't dominating like a #1 overall should against a team that's ranked last in the tournament. IOW, wouldn't mind ND playing them should we get that far.
  15. I'm not quite grasping Mankato's overall #1 ranking. It's like watching the consolation game of the SD h.s. hockey tournament.
  16. And we're starting to witness a blowout of BC.
  17. I think the other leagues are starting to realize on day 2 of the tourney about just how talented & competitive the NCHC is. Prospective recruits are taking note, as well. The reason I think that the NCHC will almost always have a more talented up-down conference than the B1G is that most of the B1G schools have other sports that they place much more importance on than hockey; namely football & basketball with hockey being somewhat of an afterthought at most of those schools.
  18. I thought the same thing when comparing it to the BC-Denver game.
  19. Denver's playing with as much urgency & pace as any team I've seen this year.
  20. It's behavior like that which needs to be nipped in the bud before it spreads to other players. Safe to say that the last thing UND needs at this point in the season is a player who's not giving his all cuz "coach won't play me when I want". Seems the Schmaltz bros have all the physical talent, but need some emotional maturity to make them more complete players. Good observation & something to watch for tonight.
  21. From that Gopher fan quoted above: "Now that its over, my focus will be on wishing UND a slow, painful death, hopefully before the Frozen 4. The only good thing about tonight, for me anyway, is that we didn't lose to UND." I do not wish to visit the recesses of this guy's psyche. Or his basement. Ever. There's life. Then there's the distraction in life called hockey. Too often that line gets erased or blurred.
  22. I thought UND's physical play helped get their heads in the game more. LJ played smart, with composure & was like a human wrecking ball at times. Maybe he needs to play this brand of hockey to be effective. I admire Murphy for his resiliency. I think he appreciates the coach's trust in him & is trying to show his thanks with his hard play. He may be playing for a spot on the roster next year. The guy is due. Poolman may have had a tough time keeping up with the pace of high-skilled teams like Miami earlier in the year, but he's found another level & can be a great forechecker with his improved speed. He's on defenders pretty quickly it seems when he forechecks. And what a cannon, if one of his shots ever connects with a player's melon that player may not wake up for a month. If they get penalized as much tomorrow night, it could be a long night dealing with SCSU's PP.
  23. One guy saying something didn't cause the universe to curse Zane with a goal-against. Maybe it was LaDue taking a major that led to that goal? It's 2015, not the Middle Ages.
  24. My 3 stars: 3rd star: Drake Cagguila 2nd star: Zane McIntyre 1st star: Tucker Poolman with honorable mention to Wade Murphy
