  1. It isn't often, if ever, that a goalie gets a penalty for holding - unbelievable.
  2. Penalty on Parise for holding behind the net - are you kidding me???
  3. Greene fell and turned the puck over on UAA's second goal and then took a penalty leading to their third goal.
  4. TH said that tonight's game is not being televised in Anchorage, but tomorrow night's game will be. Perhaps that would explain why there is no picture on dateflix. No tv cameras = no broadcast.
  5. I was rooting for the Dogs - - - - - - to lose!
  6. I cannot believe how many times, of late, UND has given up a goal within a minute of scoring - very frustrating.
  7. and Alaska comes right back with a goal!
  8. mcmahon with the second assist.
  9. Another Sioux goal!!!
  10. No, TH's real time radio feed.
  11. 790 in Fargo!
  12. Here we go again - playing from behind!
  13. From today's INCH WCHA notebook: Instant Replay is Under Review WCHA Notebook Instant replay might have cost Gino Guyer a chance to celebrate last weekend. If WCHA officials get their way next season, each game
  14. Jay Caulfield played football for UND before suffering a career ending injury. He ended up playing one game for the hockey team and then went on to a fairly lengthy NHL career as an enforcer. He also trained Mario Lemieux when he got in shape for his latest comeback.
  15. You are right, black helmets and breezers were worn during the 2000 NC game - 1 out of 7 isn't too bad, I guess! Point being, UND colors are green and white. Some black makes for a nice change, but shouldn't, in my opinion, be used as home colors. I don't recall the football team strolling onto the field with black helmets. I don't recall the BB teams taking the court with black shorts . . .
  16. Great point. Sioux hockey is green and white, not black and white. I don't mind the current look, but it doesn't come close to the look you describe. Didn't DB say a few years back that the players felt the black helmets/breezers brought them luck and made them feel more intimidating? Well, they haven't had much luck of late so perhaps it is time for a change.
  17. Ah, that might be correct. I guess I haven't followed the issue closely enough to know for sure. My understanding is there was a play earlier this year in Denver where a goal was disallowed after watching the replay due to a skate in the crease (similar to Maine's no-goal in the NC game last year.) If that was the case, I figured perhaps they would be looking at things such as goals off of skates and the like. With REA's technological capabilities it wouldn't surprise me to see the WCHA using replay in GF perhaps as early as next season.
  18. Oh ooh, someone notify the paramedics, we may have a leaper. On a different note, while watching several Gopher games on tv this year I noticed at least a few instances where instant replay needed to be utilized. I hope the league spares no expense to get replay up and running in all WCHA arenas within the next couple of years (not holding my breath though). Sioux fans have certainly felt the need at the REA this season. In a game earlier this year, Chucko appeared (calm down Gopher fans, I said appeared) to direct the game winning overtime goal into the net off his skate. This past Friday, Guyer clearly directed their second goal into the net with a skate. One goal effected the outcome, the other didn't, but both were plays that likely would've benefitted from review. I am not saying Chucko's goal would have been overturned, but it would've been nice to have it reviewed like recently happened in the Denver series resulting in overturning a no-goal. These close calls are happening more and more frequently it seems and even if a small number of those calls are incorrectly made that is still too often with the technology that is available nowadays. I understand that cameras won't always provide a view of the puck, but in situations similar to Guyers goal, the right call would have been made if review allowed. Whatever the result, at this level of play, I think it is important that the right call is made.
  19. Quite frankly, I will miss POI. Anytime Woog is revered like a matinee idol, and with Hammy posting like he is the Stephen Hawking of college hockey, you have the makings for great, great humor. One of the greatest sources of amusement for me though was the anti-Sioux sentiment accompanied by the Sioux obsession. I never could reconcile those two, but it provided good entertainment. I am sad to see it go, but the person I feel the worst for is Phil Kessel. What will he do now without the wisdom and guidance of POI? He will surely be a lost soul. Imagine being 17, having a bad game and needing a boost. What do you do if you are PK? Without a doubt you slip back to your lockerroom, fire up your laptop and peruse POI. What a bummer for that kid. No more posts about PK signs, no more ramblings about the Olympic Ice suiting his game, the "treasured M" and how slimy those fellas at UW are. In all seriousness, I liked the site, but was more of a lurker than a poster. There were several good posters though providing quality information. Hang in there, Jupiter, I hope your site does well and I look forward to spending some time there.
  20. Iwabuchi was on the '80 championship team!
  21. I thought it was a thing of beauty, but then again, I usually do when the Gophers lose!
  22. Indeed, you are missing a prior joke, and a pretty good one, I might add! Sudo it is, sudo it be.
