  1. What are you watching?? Like Kimbrough is the weak link?
  2. Ditto....I think she is even verble about her switches, which other players droppped...Don't blocked shots and defensive rebounds count as defense? but has such a bad rep about D...quite sure other teams would LOVE to have her as a liability and quite sure they didn't recruit her for her defense.
  3. Just to jump on the Kimbrough bandwagon for a minute...what's with the stats??? I will have to study the play by play..6 boards??... Do the stats per minutes played...she will leave everyone in the dust...Langen had huge boards tonight, but 10 minutes more playing time...easier to have better stats when you have more playing time! Glad for the Sioux win, but am baffled.
  4. I myself never meant to imply getting off the Guinn train..she is an exceptional player and needs to be out there..I just think she would be very effective as a 2 or 3. Bergan has alot of the same skills as Seay and I believe played more of a 1 in her career and played so well in Mankato whereas it was not Seays best game..just questioning mixing it up more, but you are right...it is a nice "problem" to have!
  5. Sioux up by 12 at halftime. Guinn having a great game so far!
  6. I have to say for the most part, I agree with most of the previous posts....some new schemes or something is needed. Roebuck does know the game for sure, but perhaps what has always worked in the past isn't going to now...we always seem to get stuck by the same old things...spreading the floor, lack of zone or a modified zone, (at least he's played some zone this year). I don't understand the foul at the end of the USD game, but perhaps that was not his idea and just an over zealous attempt at defense. Why sit Kimbrough in a tight game with a minute left??? No idea. Why Bergan not playing after her Mankato perfoprmance..no idea.. I too, think she is more of a true point guard and has the quickness to defend those quicker guards (or backdoor drops). Guinn is not a true point, but I don't think Jahner was either..she was a great defender tho. I think of Mallum...she ran the floor like a general and often was directing people where to go. I think trying to move around the guards a little can't hurt and even going back to the 2 low posts occasionally (like last years scheme) instead of having Kimbrough hi or outside most of the time might work. Just some thoughts. I think if they can tweak a few things they'll be fine. The crowd hasn't beenas loud lately either...that's something we CAN affect..so I'll try to cheer louder!
  7. C'mon...somebody flip 'em off... ok...I will!!! Let's go Sioux!!!!!
  8. Just a few comments...you guys are going to trash the 2 best players on the team and not critique the guards?? First of all...lets discuss guard play..or lack there of..then..it takes a little more stamina for those post players...not only are they fighting for position constantly on offense and defense (against some hefty 200# girls)... they may do there job and never see the ball! It take a lot of stamina to push the whole 40 minutes. Then they have to run the floor like any other player. You have got to be kidding that you are going to criticize Langen or Kimbrough..ashthma is asthma and Langen is doing fine...lets talk about the little sprite guards that on occasion can't hit the broad side of the barn or a "slow, asthmatic post player"..I want the Sioux to do well, but lets discuss the whole team,,plusses and minuses..I for one am greatful Langen and Kimbrough are on our side...no matter what!
  9. I see the Bison beat Montana quite handily...looks like it was close at half-time 30-34 for NDSU. Second half did Montana in...sound familiar??
  10. That was nothing as compared to some of the reffing I have seen...The post players are our strength obviously..our weakenesses are with our guards...shooting percentage is hit and miss and their abiltiy to feed to probably the best post players in the nation is weak...it's pretty sad when 2 of the post players were averaging more assists than the starting guard. This team like any other seems to go in streaks...if they are hot on the perimiter..let 'em fly...if not..feed the inside..we have post payers shooting almost 60% and in the top 5 all-time at UND...use it to death...it's there a lot more than they see...Langen and Kimbrough are far too talented to see much bench time unless they are in foul trouble....get "em the ball.
  11. Sioux win 82-61! Sounded like a foul fest on our part! Have to wonder when it's that lopsided! Sounded like the shooting % was prety good...hope they're on a roll with that!
  12. I guess I have a different interpretatation..considering we played them last year and only won by 3 and they are returning 4 starters and it is basically the first game of the year...I thought it not too bad. We let a lead slip by, but that's when we stopped getting it inside...and there were opportunities to. I thought Guinn did ok...she was getting hacked at the end of the game and it wasn't being called. Saw some different plays with Kimbrough dishing off some nice passes both down low and on top. With the obvious advantage we had in the post and not utilize it is crazy to me. I thought Youngblut had some nice 3's and some key boards...she is only a freshman and I think Roebuck is right to be excited about her potential. Kimbrough picked it up at the end and I think we'll be fine. Hopefully Bagaasan will be able to contribute soon...we coul definately use the experience and shooting threat.
  13. I totally agree!!!! I too, am not questioning his knowledge, etc but the coach is the one person who can control who is playing and how long....sometimes a player has a bad night...no matter if it's the senior leader or the team high scorer, etc...sometimes they need to sit down and regroup or be reminded to follow the game plan...that didn't happen either....there advantage was speed...ours was our posts...they used their speed, we never used our posts. Kimbrough was 6-8 and only played 23 minutes..only 8 touches is not good...even if her defense is weak at times, she will usually score more than she gives up...Langen was 6-11, but had 8 offensive boards, so a lot of her shots came from her own hard work. I agree also that we need to work on some other defensive schemes, and not at the last minute....he does not like the zone, but sometimes you need some form of it even if it's part man part zone. Ashley and Kimbrough will have trouble with speedy guards as speedy guards would have trouble definding post players. The part I most agree with is the sideline antics....he is a great coach and he is passionate, but apathy and tantrums are never good...yes the players are accountable, but I question the players playing at times too...everyone's gonna have a tough night from time to time, who's in and who's out is the coaches call. Great season for the Ladies and Roebuck...definately not defined by the last game!!
  14. Here in basketball world, we like the picture and sound in the same stream also...isn't hockey occupied with "internal disciplinary action" and too busy to care about matching visual & audio??? Trust me...you won't have the same problem with hockey...they'll get it corrected for that!
  15. Sioux up 40-33 at the half.....sounds like the reffing is crazy...Langen with 3 fouls in the first half!
  16. Poll is out...not too bad 92,96...just glad #1 is right All of the games are going to be important and I know you aren't supposed to look ahead, but providing the ladies win tomorrow, Saturdays game could have huge implications. I know there are no easy ones, even with SCSU struggling, you cannot take them for granted.Regional Rankings
  17. They were treated to a great game...great atmosphere! Congrats to CJ...she has really been playing well of late and glad to see her get her 1000th point in front of a big home crowd. They let up sometimes, but glad to see they can regroup. When they go on their runs, they are fun to watch! Keep it up ladies!
  18. My question is...what's the point of the light-up backboard if it doesn't match the game clock??? Do you really think a ref shoud be watching the score board instead of the game??? They screw up enough without that Seriously...Gophers need to get a grip...they have by far more to worry about than losing a buzzer beater to SDSU...thay lost to NDSU legitamately for *&!* sakes!!!
  19. Hard to judge size from a picture and it matters if you can "play taller"...I agree, the posts will have to get bigger, but sometimes the taller the player, the more non-athletic they can be...of more of a concern to me is what kind of knee injury is already side lining her as a junior?? Knees are very touchy injuries and to have some sort of one at this point concerns me.
  20. Kimbrough nabs NCC player of the week for 3 consecutive time. She and the Sioux seem to be on a roll! Hope it continues 'til April Keep up the good work ladies!
  21. Must agree...tough place to play...tough place to win...great to hear Maffin in the line-up and contributing...gotta make the free-bees...that could've..I mean did...kill us...Kimbrough sounded like she had another great game...great job ladies!!
  22. UND moves to #1 in the ESPN Poll...of note, SCSU drops out of the rankings, USD drops two to #18 and Augustana breaks in at #16. Saturday could be a tough one, but I have confidence...go Sioux!!1/9/07 Poll
  23. I see Little nabbed NCC player of the week on the men's side...Congrats to Kimbrough on the Ladies side for her second straight NCC player of the week honor! Pretty good for UND to have both the men's and women's player of the week...GO SIOUX!!
  24. Huge win for the women...the first 10 minutes they looked a little discombobulated..but every player contributed when it mattered..glad to see they can handle being down. Quigley got her points, but limiting her to 8 boards is outstanding. As if there wouldn't be enough incentive to be fired up for the rematch, Tacheny is virtually guarenteeing a win for the Huskies at home. St, Cloud Times I'm sure it will be a great game. Ulferts is a very classy coach. Way to go Sioux!!
  25. Looks like Langen had a heck of a game...18 rebounds is very impressive and CJ was shooting better...good signs. Is the game at 4:00 our time...I missed part of it yesterday because I thought it started at 9:00. Please post if it is at a different time..thanks!
