  1. They were at the Fargodome in April. They still clown around.
  2. I believe there is a difference between discussing and disclosing. The condition of both QB's has already been in the media, so it's just a discussion about the news.
  3. When did the Globe Trotters stop clowning around? Last time they were in the Fargodome they were up to their old antics. I can't wait to see Rich Glas get taunted with the bucket. Is it water or is it confetti?
  4. Bearer88, The polls will take care of themselves by the end of the year. Pitt State has the inside track for the #1 seed in the Midwest, but they still have to play the top four other teams in the MIAA. CSP will be at the Fargodome on Nov. 15th. We will see how far they drop in the regional rankings then. St. Cloud State doesn't deserve to be in the top eight.
  5. lawkota, I completely agree that UND and NDSU are different animals and have different engines driving the athletic programs. I think NDSU would have moved up even if scholarship reductions were off the table. NDSU has wanted and tried to move up in the past, it just took longer than anticipated.
  6. lawkota, The scholarship reductions are close at hand. The last vote of D2 schools for scholarship reduction in football was rejected by only six(?) votes. The non-fully funded schools have increased and are becoming more powerful in D2. When the vote comes around again, it won't be that close. redwing77 or other hockey fan, How many UND hockey games are on ESPN? What are the TV ratings for DI hockey? ESPN also broadcasts the National Spelling Bee, did that put St. Mark's middle school on the map?
  7. I doubt there will be any Meadow Larks around after October 27th.
  8. I said the winner Why would the losing team keep it in their trophy case?
  9. C'mon, I had the first letter right
  10. Diggler, Yes, a school must have either 14 or 16 sports (can't remember), with at least half of them being women's(I think, but can't remember that either). Jim or Sicatoka have posted the requirement before. I need some Gingko Biloba
  11. Bowenkamp will start vs. NDSU. comments?
  12. Sicatoka, NDSU has only two plays over 30 yards this season, so I don't think UND not allowing the big play will be a key to success. UND 92,96 Everyone knows that Kircus was only drafted as high as he was because of his *cough* "communication" skills.
  13. I think the winner should keep it for five years, to make certain that the rivalry won't continue. If, after five years the rivalry is dead, two words: E Bay!!!!!
  14. Sicatoka, There's one minor difference between Tusculum and Mesa State. NDSU beat Tusculum by three TD's with their only score against the NDSU second and third string DB's, and UND lost to Mesa State. UND 92,96 Aggressive playcalling would be a refereshing change in the series, but remember that the uber-conservative playbook is what shows up on the field for both teams in this series.
  15. The poll this week should be: 1)Pitt State 2)NDSU 3)UND 4)WhoCares We'll see if the NCAA gets it right
  16. Does a 5-1 SAC team in Tusculum count as facing a passing offense? Their base offense is a 4 wide set, they're averaging over 340 yards passing a game, and almost 40 points a game. Here's the link to their stats-Tusculum Stats Jim, It wasn't a big shift in passing Bison fans were expecting, other than having more passing attempts. We knew it was a WCO that would be implemented, so we knew it would be a short, controlled passing scheme that would also have plenty of rushing. It was just the refreshing change of no more iso-left, iso-left, if it's third and long chuck it deep passing schemes and playcalling.
  17. From the GF Herald- NDSU FOOTBALL: Bison put it all together Note: NDSU had three INT's vs. UNO. Two were plays made by the DB's, i.e. they had position on the reciever and outjumped them for the ball. None of the INT's were overthrown passes etc. - one was by a DE on a quick out(He made the same play vs. Montana)
  18. UND 92,96 Everybody has thrown a lot of yards against NDSU because they can't run. SDSU put up 259 throught the air, with 0 points on the board. Tusculum put up 279 yards passing and only scored 7 against the NDSU second and third stringers in the fourth quarter. Whether or not the defense goes after the QB is another story. Against UNO, there were only two or three blitzes the entire game, usually with only one extra man.
  19. Great job UND!! The stage has been set for the Nickel Battle. First place in the NCC is at stake.
  20. My guess- Football, hockey(men's and women's), and basketball (men's and women's)
  21. UNDVince97-01, NDSU started this year with the punter holding. The new coaching staff carried this over from Nebraska. The reasoning is that the punter, kicker and long snapper are off on their own during practice, so they can spend all their time practicing as a unit. I understand that it does add an extra threat with the QB holding, but it can be done without a QB holding (i.e. NDSU vs. Montana). I just think that on a special teams play with the defense going all out for the ball and the QB in a vulnerable position (kneeling down) that there is a extra potential for injury that could be avoided. Sorry for getting semi off topic. Start Wilson!!
  22. I'm going to try to sneak a little QB question in this thread. WTH does Bowenkamp hold for field goals and extra points? Did Klosterman hold when he was playing? It just seems like that's putting the starting QB in harm's way when you don't need to. Why not have the #2 QB or punter hold?
  23. You would figure that a $7 million project being paid off by profits from REA would have been in the news.
  24. Were there any injury updates on Ahlers and Stratton?
  25. For reference, it's HIPAA and stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. It's a pain in the butt for athletics, but it's good for the general public.
