Sicatoka, They might be owned by two different companies, but there seems to be a synergistic relationship amongst KVLY, KXJB, and KFGO. KVLY news people are on KFGO for the newsbriefs, weather, and sports. Maybe it's just an alliance.
-
KVLY has a vested interest in UND, as KFGO has the broadcast rights for UND. There goes the unbiased theory . Is there a CBS affiliate in Grand Forks, or is it KXJB out of Fargo? KXJB shares resources with KVLY, so they also have a vested interest in UND. KVLY is the biggest two-faced,fence-straddling media I have seen. They're too cheap to have a studio in GF, so they try to be the Red River valley news. FOX news would be the closest thing to an objective news program in Fargo.
-
I'll believe it when I see NDSU get the cover of the "sports" section of the Herald over UND, or if Pat Sweeney becomes remotely close to objective.
-
Corella, Title IX does not dictate that a school must provide a one to one scholarship ratio. It depends on the enrollment:
-
Sicatoka, UNO at UND (Homecoming) in 2001 had 12,580 at the Alerus. That's the closest to a sellout for a non-NDSU game.
-
Obviously, nothing. Dale Lennon was telling last year's recruits that UND would be moving to DI within three years/
-
The new locker rooms at the Fargodome would be for practice. The gameday locker rooms would stay intact. Sicatoka, The Fargodome and NDSU had agreed that it would be best if the Fargodome footed the bill for the practice locker rooms. I believe it had something to do with NDSU "owning" part of the Fargodome. Something of a "owner build to suit" sort of thing. Everything I have heard is that the capital for the BSA renovation would be raised by NDSU, and not come from the state.

1999 was the last time the Jacks beat UND in Brookings, the score was 21-7. 2000 they played in GF, the score was 42-0 UND.

Tax dollars being put to good use .

Ouch. Ouch. Consecutive years of double digit tuition increases: SOURCE

SiouxMeNow, Please research before posting on the financial status of UND or NDSU's athletic programs. Granted, NDSU's athletic expenses last year were $113,000 more than revenues, but UND's expenses were $391,000 more than revenues. Looks like hockey might not be the financial machine everyone here thinks it is. SOURCE (click on the school, then on the 'Revenues and Expenses' link on that page)

Looks like hockey dropped to #3: source-http://www1.ncaa.org/membership/governance...Supp_17_MIH.htm

Sicatoka, You don't need metal spikes on Field Turf.

BisonMav beat me to it, but don't UND fans claim seven NC's in hockey?

Here's NDSU's cost for a ND resident: -SOURCE ND Resident Per Year Tuition $3,374.00 (with 18% increase- $3981.32) Student and Technology Fees1 $ 590.72 Matriculation Fee2 $ 45.00 Room and Board $4,471.00 Total $8,480.72 (with 18% tuition increase-$9088.04) Here's UND's cost for a ND resident:-SOURCE Room and Board Rates It's fairly obvious UND has a Law School -(that's a comment on the way the tuition fees are laid out) Per Year Tuition-$4,156.00 Student Fees-$715.22 Room and Board-$4,234 Total-$9105.22

Except when you're eating Kobe hamburger .
-
Geez, those NDSU students could have attended UND and paid more for tuition, even including the proposed tuition increase at NDSU.

Corella, After talking to my father who was at the game, he confirmed there was a decent crowd in the upper bowl. The couple of times they showed the upper bowl on TV it looked like it was pretty much empty. That's what I was basing my observation on. Obviously, it was incorrect.
-
UND 92,96 Thanks for the info. I feel bad for the fans(both sided) that left early from the men's game.
-
I honestly didn't think there was nearly that many people there, but the official numbers proved me wrong. I saw that the lower bowl of REA seats around 5,900 and there were three or four sections that were half full on each end. I guess there must have been 2,000+ in the suites. Is it a turnstile count at REA or ticket count?
-
I guess I have to retract my attendance statement. Apparently, there was 6,900 at the women's game. Where they were all sitting, I don't know.
-
Good finale to the series.
-
I was not the one prophesying the attendance numbers for the men's game- We'll see.
