  1. Have to disagree with this post, mainly because when you start pinching d men down, you create odd man rushes and this could cost you the game in the first period. I think maybe having a agressive forecheck to prevent the d from moving the puck out of the zone would spell doom for any team including the sioux (key you need fast aggressive forwards). Is tech the team with enough game to forecheck and create turnovers?? I don't think so, but their goalies are both excellent and could give them the confidence to win one night.
  2. I think that Hak has ranked the d in the form of lines on the ice. You can agree and disagree with the arangements like some have putting Finley and Jones near the bottom and agree like others have! (oh by the way if you ranked Finley near the bottom you should not be ranking dmen for any hockey team!!!) I have to think that some posters don't understand there are two types of D men that play the game. One is the enforcer/defensive minded player and the other powerplay/offensive minded player. I think we all now who goes into which catagory. Marto is much more offensive power play minded when he has played and Lapoint is going to turn the opposite direction. Marto has the wheels and stick work and Lapoint has the size and psycial mind set. You can't compare the two in the same way, since they are differnt types of players. Both will be great D men in the next year or two! That would be like comparing Finley and Geno. Hats off to Big Joe this year, he has turned into IMO the best D men on this team!
  3. Obviously there is bad blood between the teams and with a family channel like FSN swearing should not have been aired along with the finger. And I expect Bickel to say: "I love you man!" And no not everyweekend features such events that occured this past weekend - and when they do I don't think any are proud of there actions!
  4. Huge low point in Hak's career this past weekend, don't know if it will soon be forgot by anyone. Looking back at the weekend for both teams, it really is a low point in college hockey. Swearing coaches, players, refs, and fans this weekend lacked any ****! Only highlight that I want to remember is Trupp's goal!
  5. Minney is not a good team this year no matter what stick you try to measure them by. Poor offense, defense, and a goaltender that enjoys skating around while the play goes on on the other end of the ice.... At least they have found a tender that is worth while and is exciting to watch. ND did not look as good as they could have this weekend, Minney played with some heart tonight and made it a game, but not a very good one. Minney is gonna struggle to make post season this year and if you disagree you are fooling yourself, lack of depth and a powerplay and a penalty kill will bring this team's season to an early end this year. Things to look forward to as a gopher fan is the fact you have a tender that is getting only better for next year. Sioux need to bring a complete package against Denver in a couple of weeks, and drive for the frozen four!
  6. Give Puff some credit guys - After tonights game is this team looking anything close to winning the frozen four? I think that JPL is!! Puffs is a creditable source of hockey media and has reasons for his opinions - lack of supremacy over any ranked team - and his analysis of the Sioux has nothing to do with Minney at all - though it may after next weekend! Sioux are doing good right now against some fairly soft oppenants and building up some steam, hopefully JP and the rest of the Sioux can works some magic next weekend! Go Sioux
  7. Frazee has fallen well short of the mark of taking the lead position in goaltending at UM. I think the main problem is he doesn't take every game seriously and every shot seriously. It's a severe lack of concentration and will plague him for the rest of his career. This takes nothing away from his accomplishments in the past, but what are they? Second and forth in WJC? ( I realize they took the Naughton home last year - might have been because of some defensemen on his team, ie Goligoski!) He is not a championship tender - Kangas will backstop this team for the rest of the year, he deserves it.
