I am bringing all Wiki pages up to date. I don't think this offer has been mentioned here:
PF Klay Stall, 6'9”, 190, Chandler (Basha), AZ Has offers from San Jose St, UCSB, Fresno St, EWU & PSU
With 15 underclassladies on this year's roster and seven newcomers arriving this fall, it appears many current players will not be playing for us next fall. It will be interesting who remains.
If we have another lousy season and Jones is let go, I would guess that the vast majority of players would welcome a new coach. They are smart enough to know when the team is underperforming due to less than stellar coaching!
Great site - thanks for providing it.
I see we have a '17 commitment - Jenna Murphy (Spring Lake Park/Minnesota Fury) is a 6' wing who averaged 18.6 this year.
At one point, there were reports that we had offered Olson (I know we talked to him) but I would guess that isn't fact - you wouldn't think he would have opted for Northern State over us.
I watched Xavier tonight against Wahlert (Dubuque). Xavier was ahead by 6 at the half but lost by 13. McDermott had 19 but was only 5 or 17 from the floor.
McDermott scored 24 in Xavier's quarterfinal win yesterday, including 15 of 16 from the line - plus 8 rebounds while playing all 32 minutes of the game.
Seales was his conference's Player of the Year. North Scott is 21-3 going into Friday's semi-final game against Iowa City West in the 4A state tourney. He's averaging 17 and 6.5.
A quote from the Forum article about the Bison playing for the Summit championship and the possibility of going to the Dance again this year:
"The defending champion Bison lost six seniors from last year’s team, yet found a way to get back to the title game this season with virtually an entirely new roster and coaching staff."
And some on this board feel that our level of mediocrity (or worse) should continue another couple of years - to be fair with Coach Jones! Unreal!
I truly believe that there is more of a chance of players transferring over the next year or two if a coaching change is NOT made. Good players want to win!
While I appreciate your optimism and hope you are correct (whoever the coach may be), I don't see how we can improve by 8-10 wins in league play. We don't know how good the newcomers will be (or how soon they will be major contributors) plus we still don't know who will rebound for us. At 200 pounds and the 6'8" height possibly being exaggerated, it is unlikely that Bernstine will be a big-time power forward and the three big freshman likely won't add enough poundage in the off-season to be overly effective on the boards.
I do agree that Coleman should have seen more court time.
Plus, all the other BSC teams will also be doing all they can to improve.
No decisions will be made without the President's blessing. He, of course, was noncommittal but he responded to my e-mail within 15 minutes of my sending it.

A very good observation!
Interestingly, Steve told me before the season that he thought we would surprise people this year as the talent was much stronger than many realized. He also hinted that it might be easier to coach this team (as compared to last year's group of seniors that often played for themselves). I had agreed with this last comment - until the results of this year proved differently.
