phil was double shifted the whole second period of that game, while guys like Oshie and Wheeler watched from the bench. This was discussed after the game in the WJC thread. That's Walt Kyle's fault. I felt the U.S. team blew their wad in the first game or two. He could have rolled 4 lines against Norway and kept everyone a little fresher, it was sad seeing guys like Wheeler and Oshie riding the pine. If you followed the tourney you would also know that he moved TJ up to the first line later on in the tourny, because of the enrgy he brings to the game. It was a little too late however.

Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but his "dreams", and what the NHL team that drafts him want are two different things. If he goes 1st overall, and that particular team wants him in their system, that's where he'll be. You can write that down. Pretty much every drafted player's future is dictated by the team that owns their rights, not their college team. I suppose you think lucia is above all of that though, I'm sure he has some magical kind of influence with regards to players and the NHL. This is why I have a problem with what you post, you are clueless almost all of the time. By the way how's peter mueller ?

I feel people who post things like this are just looking for a reaction, just giving them what they ask for. Anyone that can't see Prpich's leadership, aside from his antics, and Duncans talent, they are just being ignorant. Folks, I would like to point out that PCM is offering a rational, and logical, and insightful response to slappy, and yet he still tries to shove his crap down our throats. This leads me to believe he(slappy) is just full of crap like usual, and wants to get $hit going, as does bucky. See it doesn't really matter if you're respectful to these guys or not, I'm not saying they have to agree 100% or vice versa, but I believe they say some of this crap just to get this $hit going. Let me try to put this into perspective for everyone. If I were to go over to gpl and say that Mat Carle deserves the Hobey more than Ryan Potulny, because of the fact that Carle is a defenseman, and points are harder to score, therefore they mean alot more. I would end up defending myself to the goopher faithful, and everyone here knows it. For the record, I think Potulny and Carle are both fine players, and secondly, I'm smarter than that to even go over there and open a can of worms like that. Hence, I have no sympathy for slappy and bucky because they know exactly what they are doing, even though they don't care to admit it.

I get it, this is one of those "no means yes" deals, so when they say "meaningless", the implied meaning is actually "meaningful". It's all clear to me now, you get a free pass from ever having to explain yourselves again (slappy and bucky).

Slappy you still didn't answer my question, but chose to dance around it. Let me simplify so you understand. If I had done the same thing on gpl would I face scrutiny or not ? Just answer the damn question, yes or no. Don't try to convince anyone with long drawn out logic. Just a simple yes or no.

It's still the game winner either way. If a certain goopher player got an assist because he took a shot from the point and it bounced off the goalie, or he just made a tape-to-tape pass is it not still an assist ? Or are there now different degrees of importance regarding assists as well ?

Wrong again. I'm obsessed with goophie fans that actually think anyone here gives a damn about what they think, then whine about it when someone calls them out. Hmmmmm, TJ's gw goals/assists=pure luck. Certain goophie player's gw goals/phantom assists= ultimate skill, speed, hard work, desire, great vision, unbelievable hands, ect. ect. Maybe all of hockey should abolish this stat because of it's insignifigance. Get a damn clue bucky.

Sounds to me like this person missed the best part of going to the Ralph, the actual game itself, and concentrated on what was going on outside of the game. Hey I have a good idea Mr./Mrs. Petry, don't ever come again, it's one less stuffed shirt idiot worrying about everything else except what really matters, the game being played. P.S. check out a Bismarck Bobcats game , maybe you will get a clue what hockey is about before you waste your time and money next time.
