Yeah, I forgot about that other thing until I read your post, too funny.
-
So did Zajac, Stafford, Smaby, and Parise.
-
I believe it. As far as Oshie, he stays, Toews is still a ?. Wouldn't be shocked if he left, but would be overjoyed if he were to stay.
-
It says he should have stayed and played one more year of D1 hockey and won a championship. But alas, the Benjamin's were too much of a temptation. As is always the case.
-
Dude, the Bochenski for Arneson deal happened some 3-4 months ago.
-
Yeah, pretty confident he'll be back. I'm not hedging on that or trying to cause a panic. I wouldn't bet on it after next season though.
-
Did you hear it right from the horses mouth ? I heard alot of talk as I left the Bradley Center about St. Louis signing Oshie, obviously that hasn't happened, yet (keep fingers crossed). You may or may not trust the sources people have that post here, but I can tell you that the odds of Parise being here next year are not real good.

Welcome to Fantasy Island.
-
Mint julep sipping twinkie I'd rather be a hillbillie.
-
Ok, what exactly does this have to do with Toews and the draft. Like someone tried to point out to you yesterday, you complain about people getting "off topic" yet almost every post of yours is always going off in some skewed direction. Quit being part of the problem.
-
Who is the Jordan Parise ? Did he play here or something
-
You would be very suprised to know who some of my "hillbillie buddies" actually are. That's the only response you'll get out of me, cause if I say what I really want to I'll be banned like you are soon going to be. Have a great day
-
I would have to agree with you on this. phil did move the puck well on the goophers power play this year. This has always been one of minny's strengths, and last year was no different, phil with irmenator and ry-ry was a lethal combination.
-
Whatever, it really doesn't matter much, in the grand scheme of things, just like you or anything that you say.
-
Question ? It didn't look like you actually wanted an answer and to top it off you threw out the insults. You reap what you sew I guess. You bring less substance to this board than I do, that is what is truly pathetic
-
I don't want to be the one to burst your bubble, but I don't think many people will miss you here. You can put my name on the top of that list.
-
No, not because he was taken two spots ahead, but rather the reasons those teams passed on super phil, surely you've seen the links and read the articles by now haven't you, bucky ?
-
Pay attention here slappy, summer school is now in session. Simple math here........one phil kessel is NOT equal to one TJ OSHIE. Not on the ice, not off the ice, not in the locker room , not away from any rink, not in life, at all, ever. Objectivity or not it's just a plain and simple fact. This thread is about Toews, and as far as I'm concerned, the hockey powers that be in the NHL have ended all debate on this subject.
-
You may be right. However I have never seen anyone try to lable Oshie or Toews as "the greatest U.S./Canadian born hockey player of all time". Please show me the objectivity there. It's things like that, that set phil apart from these other guys and opens him up to public criticism. The world junior debacle was not phil's fault entirely. It would have been a good opportunity for him to "lead" the team to a medal, but he just faded away. The HC loss cannot be soley pinned on phil either, but he was part of a talented team that all faded away, and his performance was no better than the rest of minny's superstar's.
-
The debate on the subject SHOULD have ended in January when the WJC was over. Oshie clearly outperformed phil (not pointwise, but hard work, ect., is what I mean). As for Toews, he came home with the hardware after Team Canada was touted as underdogs, proving only, once again that team play and hard work will usually prevail. Then again, the debate SHOULD have ended when HC shook up the world at the REA, but the excuses keep rolling in. As for bucky, this is exactly what I said yesterday about phil sympathizers, their only excuse is that no one could have lived up to the hype, find a new excuse, that one is getting very tired.
-
So are you admitting that you are an instigator ?
-
Touche' there PCM. I was merely trying to point out the inconsistencies of some of the "non-SiouxFan-type-posters". It just seems when they are showering phil with accolades they are far more likely to show up and spew their ilk. Now that some not-so-favorable things have been said about phil, their absence is more than peculiar to me.
-
Ah yes, but please remember, it's not phil's fault. No one could have met the expectations heaped upon poor phil's shoulder's. Isn't that the battle cry of all of the kessel sympathizer's, who by the way seem to be mysteriously absent at the moment. How convenient. It seems a certain dillusional lunatic said this long ago about poor phil .
-
Oh the irony here. Toews' departure would be a HUGE blow to this team, while Spirko's is dismissed as next to nothing at all. Sorry, everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just feel you don't replace two years of WCHA experience in the blink of an eye. We've all expected Toews to be a "short timer", so his early departure (whenever it may be), will come as no suprise. Spirko was a player many thought would be here long term, his experience and value to this team are priceless IMO, and not easily replaced.
-
Well, then maybe you would like to eloborate on what "he is not happy here" is all about. For the sake of the rest of us, that is. By the way I think we will be fine as well. I just think trivializing the premature loss of a player is silly.
