Yup...my bad. I just saw a replay and there was a Sioux player behind the net that was just in the picture for a second, so I missed him on the first replay I saw. -
SIOUX vs. GOPHERS - Thursday, F4 Philly style Gameday

What a great game so far! I'm actually surprised at how 'civil' it's been, however I suppose nobody wants to put their team shorthanded. Anyone have the game DVR'd? I don't think that should have been a too many men penalty on the Sioux. When they came back from commercial they showed the replay, and one player definitely jumped out of the bench, however I only saw 4 others on the ice. Once the puck went up ice another player changed and yet another Sioux player jumped out of the box. I'd like to see a replay of this. -
1-0 BC after 1.
-
BC penalty. 4x4 for 50 seconds and then a 1:10 Union PP.
-
BC hits the post. They're dangerous.
-
BC powerplay. Sidenote - how does the NCAA allow Union to have the name "Dutchmen"? People aren't mascots.
-
Per Buccigross...BC is 21-2-2 when scoring first this year.
-
And Gadreau just hits the crossbar.
-
Union trying to be too cute on this PP. Has had chances to get the puck on net and have tried making the extra fancy pass.
-
Union PP. I have no idea how they just didn't score on that scrum!
-
BC scores......1-0. Gadreau

1988-1989 North Dakota Fighting Sioux vs Moscow Dynamo
Ray77 replied to MafiaMan's topic in Men's Hockey
I remember watching their practice as well. They did drills with tennis balls, kind of like a keep away type drill with 1 guy in the middle of the circle. Amazing hands! I also remember them lining up in a semi-circle in the zone, each guy with a puck and the goalie in net. Typically you'd see a team do this and they go from guy to guy shooting on the goalie as a warmup drill. Not these guys - they all shot the puck at the goalie at the same time! -
1988-1989 North Dakota Fighting Sioux vs Moscow Dynamo

I was there. I think if I looked in the back of the closet I have a Dynamo jersey from when they were here. -
But it's not offensive in Tallahasse, FL, I thought?!

I think Pringles' initial intention was to make tennis balls, but on the day that the rubber truck was supposed to show up, a big truckload of potatoes arrived. And Pringles, being a laid-back company, said, "F it. Cut 'em up."

Sorry - this isn't NHL news, but wow...just wow! Look at what happened at a NYPD vs NYFD charity hockey game! LANGUAGE WARNING! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_ATMdlW5ps

Some interesting tidbits I took out of this article: FF Capsule Preview: North Dakota - UND's 20th Frozen Four appearance, Hakstol's 6th Frozen Four appearance in 10 years, and in 3 of those 6 appearances they've advanced with an OT win in the Regional final. - Simpson leads UND in PP goals with 6, however he didn't have a shot on goal in either game at the Regional. He did, however, block 9 shots and he leads the nation in blocked shots with 107. - Since November 30th, Gothberg is 18-5 and during that time has a nation-leading GAA of 1.71 and save percentage of .934. - Grimaldi's hat trick against Wisconsin was the first multi-goal game of his career. - Pattyn has 7 goals on the season - 4 of them have come in the last 9 games, and 3 of those 4 were on the PP.

Good article. And all this time I thought it was Jim Dahl that ran SiouxSports.com!

HAHAHA...Dave, you're not easily predictable or thin-skinned at all!!!
-
As expected. Was there any other team in the conference that had a chance?!

This kills me. Here in ND the argument was over whether or not the logo was racist, hostile and abusive, etc. and whether we should keep it or not. In Florida the argument is whether to keep the old logo or the new logo! Just look at the title of the article..."New FSU logo has fueled emotions". One would think those emotions are either pro or anti Native American imagery. Nope - it's whether you like the old Seminole head logo or the new-aged Seminole head logo. Like it, love it, can't stand it? New FSU logo has fueled emotions

I must say, I'm only slightly ashamed to admit that this has been very amusing watching Dave get blown up and picked apart lately in this conversation!
