  1. People are still talking about Bohl's speeding tickets because he had 18 of them in 7 years.
  2. People trying to be first to report something is a big part of what's wrong with journalism today. Many times the first person to report either has the story wrong or is missing important details. But at least they can claim they were the first even if innocent people are hurt by the mistakes in reporting.
  3. Most people seemed to think that all of the applications went directly to Mr. Faison. They don't, so I gave a short explanation of how the process actually works. Glad I could make your day, I guess it doesn't take much.
  4. Probably hit the garbage can in shredded form to protect any private information in the applications. It could be a pretty good size pile of shredded paper by next Tuesday at 5.
  5. Faison may not have seen most of those applications. The normal process at UND is that the applications are screened by HR before going to the department. If they don't meet the minimum requirements for the position then they don't get passed along. Beyond that it is up to the department to decide what they want to see. They could get all that meet the minimum, or they could be limited base on how well they meet the standards. I would guess that Mr. Faison will see all of those that at least meet the minimum requirements.
  6. I can't believe that an investigation into an alleged fender bender in a hotel parking lot is going to take very long. They have the approximate time, if they have cameras it won't take long to see any footage. They can compare damage on the vehicles. They have some eye witnesses. They should be able to wrap up the investigation in a pretty short window of time.
  7. Right now they are just investigating. So far there is no report of damage, or the extent of any damage. So far there are no citations. No one has claimed that he is innocent of anything, and only NDSUAAS fans have claimed that he is guilty of something (without any hint of exactly what was done). UND fans seem to believe that he should be punished IF he committed a crime. But only a select few, like yourself, are assuming the worst by believing that he was driving drunk and wrecked a rental vehicle. Just because that's what you would have done doesn't mean that it is what happened in this case.
  8. One other possibility comes to mind. Maybe he thought he hit something, looked, but didn't see any damage. Therefore he figured he was wrong about hitting the vehicle or didn't think he needed to do anything if there was no damage. There has been no report about how much damage was done by the hit and run. He probably should have left contact information if there was the possibility of damage, not leaving contact info in a case like that might have been the mistake he made.
  9. Why am I not surprised that an NDSUAAS fan would naturally ASSUME that alcohol was involved if something goes wrong?
  10. Of course you don't.
  11. Don't you Bison trolls have a buttfootball game to worry about?
  12. Like I said, why don't we let all of the facts come out before you convict him of something. I'm pretty sure there is more to the story since we don't have any details at all, I just don't know what that story is. I have had the pleasure of meeting Ashlee and his family multiple times and I can tell you that in person he is a very nice person and is easy to talk with. But it's nice that you can judge a man's character based on a couple of comments in the newspaper. Most coaches can come off as arrogant if you read the right articles.
  13. It will probably depend on what he is guilty of doing. If it is a minor fender bender, maybe not. If it involves major damage, possibly. If it did involve alcohol it might violate a clause in his contract.
  14. Glad that you can jump to conclusions without waiting for all of the facts. And even if things happened just as you stated, good guys can make mistakes. It doesn't mean that they aren't a good person. By the way, doesn't your hero Craig Bohl have some driving issues in his past? Like at least 18 tickets (and that was between 2003 and 2010 so who knows how many more he's had since then, http://www.wday.com/event/article/id/40924/)? I guess that means he can't be a good guy by your definition.
  15. He was referring to the school in Fargo where they didn't publicly discipline a group of football players who were arrested for putting false signatures on petitions. The Athletic Director at said school stated that they weren't going to discipline the players until "they had their day in court". Even after the players filed guilty pleas the athletic department didn't give them any kind of public punishments. Yet St. Cloud State could suspend 2 seniors during the playoffs. That shows a lot more discipline on the part of the St. Cloud State administration.
  16. I am pretty sure that most of that isn't incentives, although some of it probably is. The $1.2 million probably includes income from camps, coaches shows, maybe vehicle use, country club memberships, etc. Those dollars don't come directly from university funds so they are separated. Camps are a big part of the income for many college coaches. The other things add up. A lot of times the base salary from the school is a relatively small % of the total income for these coaches. For example, I don't remember specifics on Hakstol's current contract, but I believe that the UND hockey coach has received funding from the Alumni Association in past years in the form of $X dollars per year for each year of the contract if the coach does not voluntarily leave during the contract. Again, those dollars are not included in the base salary of the position. I'm sure that other schools do similar things.
  17. He's not only a good coach, he's a pretty good guy. He's proud of his team and very confident in their abilities. Those aren't bad qualities for a coach.
  18. Didn't mean to imply that you thought Pelini was on his way out (or should be). It was the last post about Pelini, so I was using it to point out that he wasn't going anywhere in spite of all the speculation. If you go further into the article they say that even though talk radio and the internet seems to be in favor of getting rid of him, a new poll was 55% in favor of keeping him, 36% in favor of getting rid of him and the rest were undecided. There is a lot of negativity on talk radio and internet forums that does not always reflect the actual majority of the public.
  19. Pelini isn't going anywhere, at least not this year. http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/football/2013/eichorst-quashes-rumors-backs-pelini/article_2939bfd4-59de-11e3-9698-0019bb2963f4.html
  20. Michigan has gotten more of the top talent almost every year during the past decade then any other school. They get more US Development team members than anyone else. They have the top rated recruiting class, or one of the top 3 at a minimum, almost every year. How has that worked for them?

  22. You might want to consider retiring at age 74 (his age as of December 8th). This is his 30th year as coach. He has won 2 national titles. He won the first time in his 12th year, then won a second in 3 years. He hasn't won for the last 15 years. They didn't even make the tournament last year. I'm surprised that Michigan fans aren't storming the arena trying to get rid of him based on some of the reaction around here.
  23. Conditions change within the game over the years, so you also need to compare other programs in the same time period. Things aren't the same at UND or in college hockey in 2013 as they were in 1959. How many national championships does Michigan have? When was their last title? Are people trying to get Red fired?
  24. That is hard to say and was questioned even at the time. But I believe his last year as AD was also his last year making the NCAA tournament. His really bad years were after he was replaced as AD. Did recruiting suffer because of his AD duties? His best year ever was in the middle of his stint as AD, so at least a part of that team was recruited while he was also AD. Or did he burn out some because of doing 2 jobs? It's probably impossible to know for sure, but it is very difficult to do 2 jobs at the same time and do your best at either job.
  25. Gino was 17-21-1, 12-25-1 and 11-23-1 in his last 3 years at UND. His last NCAA tournament appearance was 1990 (he coached the team for 4 more years). Let us know how that compares to Hakstol never having a losing record at UND and never missing the tournament.
