  1. UND fans on this thread said themselves that this appearance of Gameday is about NDSU and NOT about UND but NDSU fans wouldn't be able to keep from mentioning UND. Then why would Sioux fans show up at the event wearing Sioux gear?

Why was there a OK Sooners poster?

Why was there a Washington St Flag waving?

Why was there a Notre Dame sign?

Why was there a Florida St. Noles sign?

Why was that Florida Gator fan doing the Gator Chomp?

Why? Because its a huge conspiracy between all NCAA schools to piss on NDSU's parade. You got us...

  2. I don't like comparing the D1-AA transition between UND & NDSU but it must be said that Mussman inherited a very successful D2 team that had been to the playoffs 5 straight years. Coach Bohl inherited a very below average team that finished with two wins or something like that the year before. Mussman had every advantage and done absolutely nothing. The atmophere used to be electric at football games. See the link below, I have posted it before, some of you may remember. It was Mussman's first game as head coach. That is what he inherited. That atmosphere. Look where that atmosphere is five years later. Just disgraceful.

  3. You, as always are missing the point. And when the hell did I suggest UND isn't a national power in hockey? And this is NOT about Ohio States hockey program its about their national brand. The idea that UND, im sorry but it's a small school with a tiny following, will garner the same interest as The Ohio State University is just crazy. If you can't see why than you are delusional.

Right, and a football game between Duke and Kansas is compelling because of their national brands.

  4. to anyone who collects gamers: I have too many black jerseys in my collection and I would be willing to trade for a White or a Green gamer. PM if you have anything that you would be interested in trading

I have a green Matt Jones (03-04) and a white Nick Fuher (03-04) I would consider trading for the right jersey.

  5. A.) how long ago was that?

B.) much bigger venue(can't imagine NDSU has had trouble getting 10,000 butts in the seats in a very long time)

C.) tough to remember much after all the tailgating people have gotten the last couple years ;)

If Bison players would deliver tickets they would do one of the following:

A.) drop their pants exposing themselves.

B.) punch me in the face.

C.) they would not ask for me to sign a petition cause they have already signed it for me

  6. I may be wrong but wasn't it the players of the 09-10 team that requested the song be played at the Ralph after attending a Blackhawks game on December 31, 2009. I think it was when they played in a holiday tournament in Hoffman Estates, IL and Toews invited his brother and the rest of the team to see a game. That was the year the Hawks won the Stanley Cup so when UND started using the song most people didn't know it was a rip off till the playoff started that spring and the song because well known as the Hawks made their playoff run. I would prefer no song and just play Stand up and Cheer. That is our real tradition.

  7. I concede that the Blackhawks and Fighting Sioux have kind of a shared history with respect to players like Troy Murray, Ed Belfour, and Toews, not to mention the logo connection going back several decades. What jersey is it that you've been wearing that gets you noticed? Is it a Blackhawk-style from the 1970's or 1980's?

Fixed the last sentence of your post, too...

The jerseys from 2001-09. I'll also add that with my experiences at NHL games, Redwings are great fans that rarely talk smack and travel well. Same can be said about the Bruins. I was at a game in Florida when they played the Panthers in February and the Bruins fan were in large numbers and were loud, but extremely respectful to Panther fans. I was impressed.

  8. Actually I didn't.

If JT was traded to the Boston Bruins before midnight tonight, 2/3 of the Blackhawk 'fans' on this board would be sporting #19 black, yellow, and white Boston jerseys by noon tomorrow.

You may be right however, there is a relationship between Blackhawk fans and Fighting Sioux hockey unlike any other NHL team. I've been to 12 different NHL arenas, some multiple times, and its Blackhawk fans that stop me the most and want to talk about the Sioux jersey I'm wearing. They talk about Murray, Belfour, and Toews knowing were they all came from. Hawk fans will pass by in the concourse and yell "Go Sioux". The two games I've attended in Chicago were ridiculous the number of times people yelled "Go Sioux". It almost got annoying. I had a Hawks fan stop me in restaurant in Anehiem before a Ducks game and told me "I can't tell you how much I love that jersey". Another reason Sioux fans cheer for the Hawks is they have the best logo in all of sports.

  9. Crosby is a temindous talent but is the biggest puss in the NHL. He was trying to look bad ass mouthing off to Chara knowing Chara was too classy to drop the glove on a pansy like him. I dare him to mouth off to Lucic. He will get his ass sewin to his face, which might actually be an improvement.
