You are comparing the Irem coming off the ice after losing to Holy Cross in what is the most humiliating loss in the NCAA hockey tournament's history and very well may be the most humiliating loss in NCAA hockey history with the Sioux losing to Boston College in the frozen four in a one goal loss to a team that lost the championship game by one goal. Sioux, I am not sure who you are but will guess that you arent an nhl scout, so your opinion on whether Parise is good enough to play at a higher level means NOTHING. At least 4 teams think he is worth signing, but hey what do they know? Dont wait by the phone,they arent going to call for your opinion. You ask why give up UND for something of lesser competition? He has at most 1 year left at UND,and the other option is not by any means lesser competion, and just happens to be a life long dream of his. Would you give up a chance to follow your dreams for one more year on your college team. There is no guarantee the dream will come knocking again, most would take it when they get the chance. As far as rumors,some things arent rumors,he is leaving after july 1st and the new goalie(who at this point shall remain nameless) is coming in,they are not rumors they are done deals just waiting for time to pass. Comparing them to OJ and Elvis,come on,step into the real world,funny you didnt mention chicken little and the sky falling! As far as the other guys leaving, they could happen also if the right situations play out. That doenst mean they are rumors. They are all high draft picks and in the new nhl all capable of playing in the league, maybe not right away, but not to far off. For an example with Lee, with Ottawa's top 2 defefnseman being free agents and possibly leaving,if they left Ottawa this offseason signing with another team,there would be a good chance Lee would be signed to fill the organizations depth at defense. They very well might want him in their system getting prepared and ready for the next step to the nhl. Right now the main threat of leaving is Toews. It is a very real possibility. Chicago is on record as saying they will sign whoever they pick in the 1st round fo the draft,and just cause other teams havent made if public doenst mean they arent thinking the same thing. Do any of us like it or want it, of course not. But that doesnt make it any different. With the level of players we get at UND, it is always a real possibility not just as you say RUMORS. NO hard feelings,and by the way ,the sky isnt falling.

One more comment, its not my perspective,its fact.

I am sure there are books and various items about a lot of faiths. They are probably in every library around,but the fact is that the ones blasted on the big screen or front page of the USA Today, or major publications ,be it papers or books or whatever, and on TV are about one faith and one faith only. And the fact is they are almost always in one way or another made to make the "majority" faith look bad. Evidently the ones on other faiths arent worth of all the "attention" or making a major motion picture out of them. For all the positive press on the darling movie,if you check page 4E of yesterdays USA Today,in a very small article on the page , it tells us that of 48 reviews of 40 are critical of the film. Guess that wasnt front page news,that is reserved for positive spin on the movie. Its news worhty,but only page 4E worthy,tucked in the middle were most wont see it. Similar to where major newspapers retract their false front page statements from a few days before. Again news worthy,but not front page like the mistatements they make.

Let me start by saying I am a member of the "majority" faith as you say it, but a "midlevel" member at best. But even for me it gets tired of hearing our faith being attacked. We of the majority faith are ok with what others believe and base their faith on, but I guess our faith and beliefs are up to debate. Why arent there books or movies questioning the other faiths? Those of the majority faith are not threatened, they are just tired of it and are pissed off! They are tired of the main stream secular media twisting and turning anything they can to be critical of the majority faith. Remember a few years ago when the Passion came out and there was an outrage from the media as to how Mel GIbson got it all wrong! I guess then they cared about the the gospels and portraying them correctly and how Gibson got them wrong and wasnt true to them. Back then the movie's faithfulness to the bible was important,or at least that is what they wanted us to believe. Now with their darling new movie and book they dont seem to care about sticking to the gospels and whether their darling new movie is faithful to them or not. DO YOU SEE WHY THEY ARE TIRED OF IT AND ARE PISSED OFF? The media doesnt ask questoins about this movie as to whether it is accurate or not,as it did back when the Passion came out. Again back then they were concerned with that,but hey, that was a few years ago and things change. Now they dont think that is worth discussing, instead they just portray in their stories to us that this movie is "true" or "believable" and we should just take it as that. DO YOU SEE WHY THEY ARE TIRED OF IT AND ARE PISSED OFF? This movie is just example of the secular media's "facination" with the majority faith. This year, on the week leading up to Easter, the USA Today's cover story every day of the week was about how the bible and gospels were "wrong". I guess they felt it appropriate to tell us our faith is wrong at that time. But what I havent seen is any stories like this about other faiths and how they have it "wrong"! In fact were at war with a fanatical "wing" of a major faith and there are no stories to be found about their "faith" and if it is right or wrong in the eyes of the secular media. NO STORIES ON WHETHER THE VIRGINS WAITING FOR THE HOMICIDE BOMBERS OR TERRORISTS ARE REAL OR JUST B---S--T TRYING TO ENTICE PEOPLE TO PERFORM ACTS OF EVIL ON INNOCENT PEOPLE. But I guess that wouldnt be news worthy anytime over the last roughly 5 years. But on Easter week it is news worthy to tell us how we have it "wrong" again. we should not be surprised to lose zajac,stafford, and smaby , in fact we should expect it, we also will probably lose parise and spirko (his departure not related to his family and money), our best hope is that toews and oshie stay at least one more year, as much as we dont like it,it comes with the territory,we get the top talent and with that comes the probability that they leave early, of the ones I consider sure to depart, zajac is the only one that is ready to leave,he is an all around talent and ready to take the next step, but with the family advisers (agents) telling them they are ready to take the next step, remember they dont get paid until the player signs and THEY ARE IN IT FOR THE MONEY, they push them in the direction of sigining a professional contract, it is similar to college basketball, in respect to leaving to early,many freshman and sophmores leave early, pushed by their own inflated opinion of themselves and the advisors they listen to,but most never amount to anything in the NBA,but the agents make there money and move on to the next group of young players,of course the money in the NBA is guaranteed and the players get theirs also,but as far as becoming an impact player most never get near that level, I have a "source" also and from what I have heard this whole situation of leaving early and family advisors was a major distraction for the team when they were going thru a tough stretch of the season,many were distracted with that and not focusing on the team and games at hand, it must be tough on the coaching staff,they want what is best for the players,they have always said that if a player is ready to leave they will let the player know that and not stand in their way,but when they see players that are not ready to go and the "advisers" telling them they are ready ,it must be a difficult situation,they want the players to stay for the right reason,develop more as a player and thus have a brighter future,where as the "adviser" pushes them to take the next step,not just for the money they make ,but no doubt it plays a major role in why they push them in that direction, I am sure that the coach/adviser situation is taking place right now,for an example,take matt smaby,does anyone really believe he is at the same level as matt greene was when he left,dont get me wrong, he is a good player but he is not at the level matt greene was when he left,but in these situations the adviser and the money usually win out, so until if and when the process ever changes,where the players and advisers(agents) can interact so closely,not just after the season but during it,expect playes to leave early,many before they are ready to g, and again, our best hope is toews and oshie stay,with lamoureux in goal and the 4 returning freshman defensmen along with the return of bina,we will be fine on the defense of side,with toews and oshie returning it wont be a perfect situation ,but at this point it is the best we can hope for

I believe Kosek will be a big time scorer before he is done here. You can see the guy has a great shot and I have heard he wins almost every shooting competition in practice. He is a third or fourth liner now,but look who is ahead of him on the first 2 lines. His day will come when he is on one of those lines. I see him as a first or second liner and a big time scorer. Remeber his numbers in the BCHL were right up at the top in goals and total points. I think this weekend we may have seen the beginning of what is to come with him. He has an incredibly quick and accurate shot and he plays all out.

my report on oshie was from late last night,maybe have stayed at a holiday in express last night!

from what I have heard Oshie will not play this weekend and Parise was run into in practice and may have suffered concussion

for what it is worth,my sources tell me that he will be gone by the end of the week,its just a matter of finishing the deal,not sure if and when it will be made public but the deal itself should be done by the end of this week, my understanding is he is for sure leaving

Saw this on ESPN.COM today in an article under NHL, about sources telling about key dates in the new agreement. It states that the first important date is July 23rd which begins a 6 day window for clubs to initiate buyouts of contracts,but then states that begining that day STARTS A 5 DAY WINDOW TO NEGOTIATE AND SIGN 2003 DRAFT PICKS,IT STATES THAT IF A TEAM FAILS TO COME TO CONTRACT TERMS WITH ANY OF ITS 2003 DRAFT PICKS DURING THOSE 5 DAYS, THOSE DRAFTEES BECOME ELIGIBLE FOR SELECTION IN THE 2005 DRAFT JULY 30TH. IT STATES THAT 2003 DRAFTEES WILL BE SUBJECT TO ENTRY LEVEL RULES USED IN THE PREVIOUS CBA WITH CONSIDERATION OF THE 24 PERCENT ROLLBACK I think this applies to Smaby and Porter both 2003 draftees,which would then make you assume that for sure Smaby would be signed and more than likely Porter also.

in regards to Nodakstud's comments I could care a less if he loves UND, I would love them probably more than anything in the world if they had given me that job and all that goes with it for the 10years or so,who wouldnt? And again as far a reassigning him within the university,come on ,give him another cake job with no real expectations and let him continue the ride,come on the ride would be better than it is now,out of the spotlight and still sitting preety as far as employment goes.
