  1. damn damn damn I paid for the friggin' game and only get a blank screen!!!
  2. loading, loading, damn it's slow.
  3. What's the story on Lucia? Damn my lap top must be jinxing my work desk top. It's going really slow now too.
  4. WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!! five minutes later
  5. I am loving this game! I came to the clinic to see if I can get the video on the computer here, forgot I have to pay for it and left my cc at home. Oh well, I'll run back after this period. If I only get to see the 3rd period, I'll be happy.
  6. How much time left in the period?
  7. Man, I hope our boys keep their cool. We need this win!!
  8. Oops, I thought you were asking if Frazee was the island's bootlegger.
  9. The boys and girls HS teams were suppose to travel for ten days. The boys left but the girls got suspended. They were caught drinking. There are bootlegger everywhere!!! I gotta get in good with the girls BB team, that's all there is to it!!
  10. I don't miss his commentary but gotta admit his homerism was good for a laugh on occasion.
  11. No pop machines on this island. In fact there are no vending machines on this island. No beer or other alcohol beverages available either. At least when I was on the Navajo rez, I could drive off and have a beer in Cortez, CO. Just lost satellite signal on the TV, no lose, the picture rolls on all the stations. One way of getting dizzy without booze!
  12. WTF!!! Japan and not SE AK!!! I'm moving to Tokyo!
  13. Stoa only got two minutes for his cheap shot, so that's not why he's not playing. So why isn't he going to play? He's injured? He's sick? He's scared? His girl-friend won't let him because she's hoping for children someday? All of the above?
  14. No caribou here. Lots of deer which is hunted year round without limits. I don't know if there are legal limits but fresh snow means fresh meat around here. Seal is also hunted for it's food value. It's really greasy. Fishing is also done year round, salmon and halibut mainly. Boats here are like cars in the -48, one parked in front/next/behind every house and/or in the harbor. I look forward to fishing when it's a little warmer. I don't want to go now or in the next month or two.
  15. No, it's too close to the F5. I'll be home for two weeks mid March before I come back here or go on to another assignment.
  16. You must have been on the one of the islands west of mainland Alaska. I'm on Admiralty Island in SE Alaska. It's beautiful here but, yes, very limited in resources. One store, that's it. Seaplane air service, weather permitting, no air service the past 11 days which means no mail. A ferry to Juneau twice a week, Thursdays and Saturdays. Only one inhabited village on the entire island, <500 population in the winter and three miles of paved road from the village to the ferry landing which makes the island feel really small when it fact it's the second largest island in SE Alaska. If I wanted to pay an arm and a leg, I could get better internet service (the clinic's is fine but it is a work system so lots of sites are blocked) but I opted for the AT&T aircard. They assured me it would work just fine, fast, good connections, etc. They lied. Oh, and there is the largest population of bear on this island in all of Alaska and possibly the world. They're hibernating now. My house is the furthest one north of the pennisula the village sits on and is right next door to a hill. I was told not to go up that hill to the forested area that's there once the bears wake up. Anyway, I chose this area. The idea of my traveling for awhile is to go to areas that I would never otherwise visit. I may stay for a few more months just to explore the area. The island is a National Monument and as I said quite beautiful. I posted some photos in the Happy New Year thread.
  17. Thank you! I've missed everyone here! My connection is iffy at best and too slow to participate in the game threads but I'm watchng as much as possible.
  18. The Vikings are the Cubs of football. That's just the way it is.
  19. You wear breezers to the games? Can't you wear your black breezers with your white jersey? *just yankng your chain*
  20. Thanks. There are only two bad things here, my home internet is too slow to get video and no mail if the temp falls below 16 degrees, it's too overcast, it's too windy, or it's snowing to hard, here or in Juneau. We haven't had a seaplane (which brings the mail)come to the island in almost two weeks! I'm going to try to get the game on at work tomorrow. I can't get on SS.com there but maybe I'll be able to watch the game.
  21. I would love to see them. I can get YouTube at work where the internet connection is faster!
