Having read UND's rebuttal, I have confidence in the points of law that it referenced and in the legal team (I don't know if they have law students/teachers on board but they do have practicing lawyers) that UND has working on it. Not having read Marquette LAW STUDENTS/TEACHERS reviews, I can't comment on them. Why have other schools been so quick to roll over? Don't know. Maybe they lack the passion, and the drive to fight for their legal rights that UND has.

Not so very powerful and commanding as this fact I can just imagine UND's finance people and lawyers, singing, 'I'm in the money.' Recent judgments againt the NC$$ have been in the tens of MILLIONS of dollars. Think of all the good that money could do for ALL the students at UND. I say, 'Bring it on Myles. I want my kids' tuitions lowered, more support services for all students, AND our own football arena (just getting greedy here)! Oh and, 'Vaya con Dios!'

I agree as well. There's a guy that sits a row or two behind me at the Ralph with a shrill whistle that puts my teeth on edge! I'm not sure what the purpose is for his whistling. He does it when the other players have the puck near our net and when we have the puck as well. If he thinks it throws any player off or gives any player encouragement, he's wrong. wrong, wrong!! All it does is annoy everyone within ear shot of it. UGH, it drives me nuts. I'm happy every time he misses a game.

So, is UA a better team or did the Sioux (team) not play to their full potential? I don't know anymore, maybe we're just a great bunch of individual players on the same team who as a whole don't make a good team?

1. Uhm, here you are along with the rest of us. But your presence doesn't annoy me. Does give me a good laugh at times and other times makes me pity your inability to formulate a good defense in the face of the Name Supporters aggressive offense. 2. Until I read the rebuttal, I, too, fully expected the NC$$ to deny UND's second appeal. Now I don't know that that will actually happen. We'll have to wait and see. (Who the he!!, despises the Sioux? As far as I can tell you're the only one on this board, well mako and KTF too, who mentions hate, racist insults, etc.) 3. No one at UND is going to bend over and accept any 'dagger'. Read the rebuttal, the 'beast' is armed, pissed, and ready for whatever the NC$$ has in it's arsenal. 4. UND's use of the name and logo is honorable, respectful, and will not fall to the NC$$ or demands of Name Changers. 5. UND will not be preparing for any 'changes' if the 2nd appeal is denied. They'll be busy preparing to win a case against the NC$$ in federal court. 6. No one is going to accept being denied constitutional (U.S.A.'s and NC$$'s) rights. That would definitely not make things better for any institution with a NC$$ contract. With that in mind, the name and logo will keep things 'better' for 'fans of the FS logo/nickname.

Yes sadly, many Native American tribes are extinct, Illini, Mohawks, Aztecs, Natchez, hundreds more. But they live in our memories in our respectful use of their names in athletics, automobiles, buildings, cities, states,etc. This prompts many to GOOGLE.com to look for information about these tribes. They're not forgotten and will continue to live as long as their names are out there to spark an inquisitive mind. We are such an assimilated society in North America, it's likely many of us have a gene or two from one of these 'extinct' tribes. There you go, hurting my feelings with your hostile and abusive remarks about a car named after a great race of people, my ancestors. Now I can never hold my head up proudly and proclaim pride in my ancestory, my children will never know their history, language, culture, and religion I go now into the depths of depression never to see the bright lights of life until the car is renamed 'DA NO NAME'.

I'm slightly less than half way through UND's response to the NC$$'s memo (darn work responsibilites!) and there is a lot more than policy/Executive Committee vs Legislative body that is being addressed. I'm quite confident that should this end up in court, Myles and his cohorts are going to end up with more than just egg on their faces. I'm not an attorney nor have I played one television but the legal points that are referenced seem right on to me. Hang in there, the more I read the more confident I am that UND and Sioux fans fans are going to prevail.

Last year, I had several (well, at least five) Canadian fans apologise to me for the conduct of the loud,drunk, "USA sucks" fans. They were really anxious that we (my little group) didn't think all Canadians felt like the loud, overpowering buffoons who were cheering against the USA. But I have to say, I admired the fervor that those fans showed for their team, sans the profanity of course. (There are quite a few Goopher fans at the Final Five who wish my seats were elsewhere in the arena.)

Hang on to that Sioux gear, ScottM. Looks like it's going to get years and years of use! WOO HOO!!!
