  1. Never forget, this is the NCAA, so they can make any change they want to make more money. some times it helps you, some times it hurts, but with the NCAA, making more money will trump any bracket integrity.
  2. actually, I just wanted to point out that I don't think the reffing was all that good, and if a sue fan is going to go back and change one screw up, a gopher fan might as well go back and change another. And, UND had plenty of chances to stop that goal, at least 6 or 7 players touched that puck after it made it into the zone. the offsides call should have been called, but I am sure we could go back, and find a missed call that helped the sue. I personally think that oshie had a kicking motion, but I am like woog, I want to see a player shoot the Puck, not tip it in with a blade.
  3. of course, and then a gopher fan would say that lammy should have had a five minute penalty for kicking. und clearly got the better of the missed calls.
  4. No, I ripped und's exgoalie. I assume it would take some cheese eating frenchie named meltdown to get whoever is this weeks und backup on the ice, too.
  5. Well, at least Minnesota's backup didn't run away to the OHL.
  6. As far as I know, the original plan back in the early part of last century, was to make the Indians American citizens, and then get rid of the reservations. One article I read on the subject claimed that this was Congress's plan, however after the Indians were given American citizenship, the reservations were not eliminated for various reasons. (one being an idea that the reservations were a good experiment in North American communism). Now, due to the casino profits, the reservations will never be eliminated.
  7. Do you guys whine about everything?
  8. I am pretty sure that white people put the Indians on the reservations in the first place. If you can show me any reliable sources that show any other reason for Indians ending up on reservations than the U.S. government wanting their land, I will gladly look into it, but until then, I can safely say that, yes, white men forced these Indians onto the reservations, and are responsible for those conditions. I am sure that you yourself are not responsible, but surely, the Indians didn't chose to lose the Indian wars, get all their property stolen, and live in abject poverty on a reservation for generations. But, you can go ahead, and blame the victim if it makes you feel better.
  9. They can have the West bank, all that's over there is a law library and some liberal arts buildings, with bad modern architecture. The majority of the U of M sits on the East bank of the Mississippi. You must have gotten your geology lessons from Miss South Carolina Teen. I think as the first step the U of M should do something symbolic, like refusing to play sporting events against teams that knowing use "hostile and abusive" nicknames. That should be more than enough of a sacrifice to make amends.
  10. this is the new ego driven way of top college prospects. Jimmy wanted to get to the NHL, and sign a big contract. He needs to be the star of his team, get all of the minutes, and he wasn't going to be at Minnesota. Denver had 2 second round picks do it in the last year, and we are going to see it again and again in college. These type of players demand ice time, and will go wherever they can get it. In their own minds, they can't afford a year or two of college seasoning before they get to be the leaders on a team. so, should a coach give them ice time, when they don't deserve it? college coaches don't owe it to players, unlike mj coaches do. As to how it effects a team like Minnesota, I expect that only the true insiders really know. Lucia surely knew he wanted to leave the minute he was recruited, and Jimmy may not have been getting that much scholarship money. after all, no one really though he would stay around very long, anyway. unfortunately, the NHL is going to need a ton of young guys to fill cheap roster spots, because once 4 or 5 players take the lion's share of the salary cap, all that's left is enough money for a few role players, and kids on rookie contact's. some teams are going to always have to have 5 or 6 (or more) players on rookie salaries to counter the big boys salaries, and it is obvious that to do that, they are going to have to ramp up the signings of college kids. I assume the odds of seeing a first round draft pick staying 4 years on any WCHA team is basically zero. I now hope that no one from my team gets drafted that high, it just seems to cause a lot of problems, more so than the year or two they are willing to put in is worth.
  11. Yeah, your right, the University of Minnesota and the NCAA is always right. I guess und should start looking for a new nickname, now.
  12. You forgot MN's 1925 and 1940 championships.
  13. there is never any common sense in a bureaucracy.
  14. and ex-wcha player Paul Stastny was second in rookie of the year.
  15. Um, to play hockey. http://www.mn4on4hockey.com/homePage.htm
  16. and that's why I am Happy that god and bucks went to UND, they didn't deserve to get a National Championship with MN after that.
  17. I heard that they didn't exchange valentine cards with the chubby girls back in 2nd grade, too!
  18. you forgot thieving.
  19. Mn already plays in the Big Ten, so any team not in the BCS is a powder puff.
  20. yeah, MN did win the div one national championship in wrestling and won both mens wcha titles. I am sure wisconsins womens hockey team outshines that by far. I think you will find in the one sport where it matters, mens hockey, MN addded once again to it's overwhelming 2 to 1 winning record against the badgers.
  21. no, do you? actually, I am stalking dirty, and sometimes I have to follow him to the depths of hell.
  22. I think it is very probable that und does have a mascot, and you all think it too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mascot
  23. I win many more arguments. besides, why would anyone ever sue the NCAA, they are like the Easter Bunny, harmless do-gooders who wouldn't hurt a flea.
