  1. I was obviously disappointed when I read that article last night. I knew it seemed too good to be true. But after reflecting on it, I think Sprig is right. Us Sioux fans need to show class, unlike some posters from other boards that I have read. If he chooses UND, that will be great. If he doesn't, oh well. Let the family makes its decision based on what they think is in the best interests of Jonathon. Hopefully the family is educated enough to see through the lies and myths being spread about NCAA hockey and make an informed decision truly based on Jonathon's best interests. I'm sure coach Hakstol is taking the high road in recruiting. UND does not need to resort to the deceptive and intimidation tactics that are apparently being used to to pressure him to choose the WHL route.
  2. I got nothing. Yep, nothing's wrong!
  3. Some recent news about Toews in the World U-17 Challenge. http://www.sha.sk.ca/Default.aspx?DN=4588,...,2180,Documents http://www.hockeycanada.ca/e/championships...c30_review.html So is Toews graduating from Shattuk a year early and coming to UND next fall as a 17 year-old?
  4. Whoops! Hey, for the Sioux to actually play 3 games in 3 games is an accomplishment in itself this season.
  5. Sorry...I couldn't get the USA lines straight, except for O'Sullivan, Callahan, and Stafford. Overall, UND played well and did not get outplayed at all. Even UND's 4th line of Marvin, Bina, and Foyt had some flurries and numerous chances. The biggest factor was USA has snipers/finishers, UND does not. The story of the season for UND. It was UND's third game in 3 days = fresh legs an advantage for USA. It was USA's first game together as a team = systems advantage for UND.
  6. Maybe someone else can comment. I'm a die-hard Sioux fan and I've mostly been paying close attention to UND to see how they match up against the top-notch competition (plus I've been watching the Vikings at the same time). If nobody else posts the lines for you, I'll check in the 3rd period and post them. USA on PP to start out, so it may be a little while. One observation about team USA is that Brian Lee does not look out of place at all. That is good news for both USA and UND.
  7. Prpich on between periods of UND-USA game, says he expects to be back by the Mankato series.
  8. Suter is definitely the captain as he did the ceremonial face-off...tv announcers said he was voted captain last night. TV announcers did not say who the A's were and I don't think the captain's letters have been placed on the sweaters yet (could be wrong, but I didn't notice any).
  9. End of 2nd, 3-0 USA UND outshout USA 10-6 in period 2. UND outshooting USA 16-13 overall. UND's last PP was awful - USA did a very nice job on the kill. UND gets a penalty as the buzzer sounds, USA to have a PP to open up the 3rd.
  10. Porter very strong on the puck per usual...leads to another UND PP.
  11. Kyle Radke looks extremely out of place every shift (even the PP). Suter is USA captain, not sure about the A's.
  12. Montoya out, Schneider in for USA. Montoya played very well.
  13. Yes. Spirko on a line with McMahon and Porter. Shots 7-6 in favor of USA in 1st. Zajac had 2 shots on goal in 1st. USA (Hensick) with a quick goal to open the 2nd.
  14. USA obviously has more talent than UND, but I thought UND held up just fine in the 1st. I thought the scoring chances were about equal. I don't expect UND to seriously challenge, but hopefully they can continue to hang tough and keep it respectable. Zajac, Genoway, and Murray do not look out of place at all and are taking it to USA at times. But UND's defensemen look a little shaky against the very talented players of USA.
  15. The cited reasons by the players look pretty weak to me for the administration to validate a team mutiny and fire a coach who is in first place in his league in the middle of the season.
  16. Clearly men against boys tonight in overall play, but scoring is still a problem. I can't help but think a team like Minnesota would put up double digits against a team like Canisius at home. But it's always nice to get a sweep no matter who you are playing.
  17. Sioux with multiple chances on the power play but couldn't score.
  18. 2nd assist on the 3rd goal to Jones. 2nd period over, 3-1 Sioux
  19. 11:48 remaining in 2nd, still 2-1 Sioux. Bina playing a wing tonight. Fuher is playing...Prpich is the player with the injury tonight.
  20. End of 1st period - Sioux up 2-1. Shots 11-5 in favor of the Sioux. Forecheck getting some camera time in the first period with some of the signs.
