Reading tomorrows paper?
-
I am going to stick to the picture Kaip was pulled down (would have been a penalty) and Kozek buried the free puck. Update, even the sound on the video is ahead as the whistle jsut blew ahead of the puck reaching the blueline on that offside
-
It may have been the continued play after the offside but he plays better mad so this could be a good thing.
-
Anderson about to lose control of another one.

Speaking of Lapoint, I am watching Mattson play for Team USA in the U-17 final and he is a very similar type of D-man. Needs to fill out a bit before jumping to the WCHA.

This year's Canadian team is nothing like the last nor is the US team. The Canadian team is depending on three 17 year olds because their top six eligible players are now in the NHL, including Toews and the two Staals. I am not trying to demean Tavares, Stamkos and Doughty because all three are extremely talented and will one day be superstars but just like the NCAA you have to have older players to succeed. The US of course lost Kane but they are still loaded with penty of 19 year olds and as I said are probably the most balanced US squad I have ever seen. No Long Island between the pipes this year and the US attack is lead by some impressive power forwards vice the doodlebugs who try and play keep away. The only way Canada wins this one is with lucky bounces and the game of his life from their goaltender. Thired Period Edit, I was right about goaltending and lucky bounces but I never envisioned so many dumb penalties by the US. Too many men reflects poorly on the coaches. Finally, Okoposo is nowhere near NHL material. The comparisons to Iginla are a complete joke as he has no finish around the net whatsoever. Perhaps he left UMTC because he knew his ice time would dry up with the return of Carmen.

Team USA beat Team Pacific 3-2 in their Under 17 semi-final and will meet Team Ontario in tomorrow's final. This will be a chance to watch Mattson on TV as the game will be carried by TSN.

The good news, only a sprain and out three to four weeks. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=226395&hubname=nhl

From Michigan and he was drafted in the 2nd round in last years draft by Nashville.
-
Canada is still depending too much on their 17 year olds Tavares, Stamkos and Doughty. Not a formula for success in a tournament that 19 year olds usually dominate.
-
I didn't get a chance yesterday to mention that Curtis Murphy can add a Spengler Cup to his resume as Team Canada defeated the Russians 2-1 in the final. The Russian team UFA has a payroll of $50 million US and half the team has starred in the NHL, so they thought they were going to come in and dominate the tournament.

Mattson with his 5th assist in four games; however, the US lost to Germany 4-2 at the U17s. The German goaltender stood on his head and made 42 saves. http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.cfm/ci_id...ame_id/1357.htm
-
Mattson had three assists in the USA's 6-2 win over Russia http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.cfm/ci_id...ame_id/1350.htm

A loss and a tie with these type of opponents is a total disaster for them with respect to the PWR and making the final 16.
-
Nothing positive about blowing this game, there is still no fight in this year's team.
-
Not clear enough. Oh well
-
You misundertood. Lapointe wristed that right to Lapointe. He didn't try to put it on net hence it was not a shot that went wide. On the replay you could see Lapointe look right at Trupp vice the net. Clear enough?
-
Watch the play again, it was deliberate. Lapointe spotted Trupp all alone to the side.
-
What a heads up play by Lapointe. Memories of Roche right there.
-
He could quit and it wouldn't matter to this team All of the forwards are contributing with VanR and Ruesegar (sp?) as the two standouts thus far today.
-
First Periods are over with good news. USA 1 Russia 0 Canada 1 Sweden 0 Although I am Canadian I must admit that I think this USA team might be your country's best ever in terms of balance and are my pick for Gold. The Canadian team may have the talent and speed but they are depending on too many underagers this year, second youngest Canadian team ever at the tournament. Can't wait to watch Tavares here in Ottawa for next years tournament.

Nice to see the Freshmen chipping in. So Don Adam needed medical attention from the Sioux trainer. I say apply the tournequet to his neck
-
There is the season hanging in the balance.
-
Even with my green colored glasses that was a borderline call.
-
Call it my green glasses but if a Sioux player did that it would be a five.
