I wonder if Goof fans still whine about the other team's overage Canadians.

Why was Canada the home team last night and tonight despite being the lower seed? Host team?? They might as well just name this tournament the Team Canada International Tournament considering they are about the only country hosting it recently.
Not sure which game you were watching but the in the Gold Medal game on TSN they were the visiting team. Czechia had the last change and Canada were wearing white sweaters in the game I watched.

Blake was robbed. Hockey is losing its brilliance. Work hard, score a goal, and it gets taken away. Joke.
IIHF rules made that play a crease violation. If the puck exits the crease the opposing player in the crease must also exit. Watch the replay and you will see that he did not. The NHL would have let that goal stand.

The rest of the tournament was just cancelled. World Juniors cancelled in Edmonton, Red Deer due to COVID-19 cases (msn.com)
Apparently the Russian team also has it and the tournament could not continue with less than eight teams.
Amused to see that over 20 years later I am considered a newbie

If you haven't seen it yet you all have to check out Stecher's unbelievable play to set up Canada's winning goal over Russia today. It might just be the hockey play of the year.

I think she’s Ron’s cousin
Yes she is and the granddaughter of NHLer Bryan Hextall. She has done sportscasting in Toronto for several years and was the first woman to do an NHL game.

Will he be able to take off his helmet with his other arm?
The answer to your question is yes. He even held his Player of the Game Award with it.

I attended the Sports Memorabilia show in Montreal last weekend sporting my Sioux Jersey. Red Berenson was there signing Autographs and he was part of their 64/65 Stanley Cup Winning team. When he was done I stopped in front of his table and told him we are everywhere. He cracked up and we had a really nice chat in the Lobby afterwards. He seems to be really enjoying retirement.

What a bush league way to decide Olympic hockey games.
I totally agree, it is called a Hockey Game not a skills competition. You might as well save time and just flip a coin.

Watching the Canada vs Finland game with mixed emotions:
Canada losing would recreate the uproar that used to happen every four years when Canada failed to medal, from the 1970s until the NHL allowed its players to go. That pressure is what it will take for the NHL to change its mind. (Yeah I am boycotting the NHL for 2 weeks.)
But I would love to see Genoway get a medal.
Canada has already done as well as anyone could have hoped for with the lineup of journeymen that were thrown together. A medal for Genoway would be nice, but even better would be another crack at the NHL. Of all the players in that lineup he is the most deserving of another shot as he has been the team's most dependable D-man ( I don't think there has been a goal against with him on the ice). Maybe Hakstol will give him a call.

I'm out. Good luck. I can't watch this garbage. I'd rather watch WHL...this SIoux team is the worst that I've seen since I started paying attention again when Parise showed up.
Perhaps you should stick to the sports you know like maybe Bouncy Ball?

How are the saps who gave up on the team feeling now?

As of today, with Jonathan Toews in the lineup Team Canada has a record of 47-1-1
-
Hard to argue the point of this article given Captain Serious' record to date.

Everything in life tends to go full circle. Early in it's history the Gopher hockey team used to load up with all the best talent it's state had to offer and beat up on a bunch of beer league teams. Today the Gopher hockey loads up with all the best talent it's state has to offer and gets beat up by a bunch of beer league teams.

According to hockeyDB.com a complete set is all 92-93 players + 4 alumni: Ed Belfour, Jon Casey, Bob Joyce and Dave Christian.
I have two sets of all 92-93 players + 2 Jon Casey + 2 Ed Belfour + Troy Murray (???); no Bob Joyce or Dave Christian.
I am willing to part with one or both sets, just let me know and I can get them to you.
.
The complete set is 40 cards. The first 32 are easier to find because they were given out at the game, which includes the Casey and Belfour. However you could only get the other eight Alumni cards with a sandwich at Subway so they are harder to find and are worth some decent coin. Those other Alums are Christian, Hrkac, Joyce, Murray, Patrick, Romanuk, Valk and Ward.

There certainly were a lot of greats, but many of those greats had an incredible supporting cast. Therefore, if I had to pick the one player that I thought more often than not impacted the outcome of a game in UND's favour I think I would have to go with Jeff Panzer.

Gonna be a small crowd at the finals, not good for the bottom line.
How many friend and family made the trip from Sweden and Finland. Toss in the NHL scouts and you will have your total attendance for todays Final. Ouch!

The world juniors were a perfect storm for the Ralph. No nhl going on at the time and the Canadians showed up to watch.
their dollar is weak now I know but TSN has said multiple times for this tourney the Canadian dollar is worth the American dollar at the Ralph.
Remember they've already exceeded ticket sales from the same tourney in Fargo. USA needs to win this semi to make this tourney a success though. The Ralph is banking on a USA Canada final.
The Ralph won't get their wish as Finland scored with under a minute left, and I forgot that the empty netter at the buzzer counted, to win it 4-2.

I am watching the USA/Finland semifinal game on TSN. I doubt there are even 2,000 people in the stands so was this not advertised or something else?
