  1. It can obviously be done to an extent.................the men and women played all of their NCC conference games in the REA in 2004-05 and 2005-06. I'd prefer they stay in the Sioux Center, save for when they host NDSU, and possibly down the road if a rivalry develops with a Big Sky school (perhaps Montana or Montana St. ? ) that would consistently be able to sell 5,000+ seats for such a game. Aside from that, I'd consider it a remarkable accomplishment if UND basketball ever averages 3,000 per game again, and the Betty can accomodate that. 3,000 in the Sioux Center is a great home-court advantage. Even 5,000 in the REA is not. Coincidently, Sean Johnson addressed this very subject on Friday on the Christopher Gabriel Program when asked about the several much larger basketball arenas in the Big Sky Conference. He had the same company line answer that the Sioux Center needs to get full before they think about a different home for basketball, but if it did happen that either the REA or the Alerus would be the likely options.................
  2. I didn't get a chance to see or hear the game, but what an exciting win. Just glancing at the box score, I see Mitchell had 13 points and 11 rebounds while Brekke chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds..................with all the praise this season about Huff, Webb, and Anderson (and rightfully so), if Mitchell and Brekke can continue to produce closeto those numbers, the Sioux could end up having a surprising GWC season. While as an upper classman, Mitchell is expected to produce, but Brekke sure has been a pleasant surprise IMO this season. Nice balanced scoring from the Sioux with 4 guys in double figures. Allard probably had his best game in college.
  3. Mine's unwatchable for the first time this season...................around 22%. However it snowed heavily until about 4:00 here today and I see alot of accumulation on the dish...............rather than wade through two feet of snow, I think I'll just watch on DirecTV
  4. I believe it was star2city that posted a link that college basketball has been struggling even for the high majors in recent seasons. Honestly, I don't expect UND to ever average near the 5,000 mark for attendance in the near future, however as we progress into Big Sky play over the years, I think regular 3,000 plus crowds are attainable, and 2,000 or better for the women as long as we are competetive in league play. I'd think the same should be true for the other 3 Dakota schools. Historically, there's been some pretty good basketball played in the Dakota's amongst UND, USD, and SDSU.................
  5. 54 North Dakota 37 WKU 16:00 2nd half Sioux are playing very well, and against a very quality opponent too.............................still turning it over too much though.
  6. The Mothershed's are going nuts.................................. WKU's RPI is 115.......
  7. 90 North Dakota 74 Longwood Final
  8. Anderson to Huff with an apparent ferocious alley-oop & dunk...............2nd of the game... Sioux up 90-71
  9. 88 North Dakota 70 Longwood 3:30 2nd Sounds like the fans that showed up are getting treated to some pretty exciting up-tempo play...................
  10. 82 North Dakota 61 Longwood 6:00 2ND Sioux shooting 56% from the field

  14. Just taking a quick glance at realtimerpi.com............................South Dakota took a couple of tough losses this week to Longwood and to SIU-Edwardsville. Currently, North Dakota's RPI is actually higher than the 'Yotes............................
  15. Hopefully they don't have their quasi-trademark slow second half start.....................
  16. 44 North Dakota 33 Longwood Halftime Webb hits a 3 at the buzzer...........
  17. 32 North Dakota 25 Longwood 4:00 1st
  18. 14 North Dakota 21 Longwood 10:53 1st
  19. 9 North Dakota 17 Longwood 14:06 1st
  20. 9 North Dakota 9 Longwood 15:55 1st half Brekke gets the start and is playing well......
  21. Like I said, I don't follow recruiting all that closely...................... just wondering if this is the type of kid that could potentially walk-on and perhaps contribute a few years down the road.............apparently he has "Brekke" size.........
  22. I'm not much of a recruiting guru, but I see there is a 6'7" kid from Cando, ND with the last name Lindahl. He's averaging 18 points and 9 rebounds per game. I assume he is related to former Sioux Evan Lindahl. Would UND show in interest there, or perhaps a better question, is it worth showing any interest there?
