  1. Leach will reportedly become the head coach at Maryland.
  2. UND STATS 44% from the field 33% on 3 pointers 47% on free throws 11 Turnovers Mitchell & Huff each had 14 while Webb & Schuler both had 9 UMKC 10-17 from beyond the arc.................shooting 32% coming into today's game. Sioux really let one get away that they should have come out on top. They shot better than normal from the field, took care of the ball, and forced 16 UMKC turnovers. They led by as much as 8 at one point. This was an excellent chance to get a win today. Very frustrating.
  3. 61 North Dakota 69 UMKC Final
  4. Webb hits a leaner to cut it to 3 but Sioux get called for offensive goaltending
  5. Mitchell hits a 3 to cut it to 5. UMKC shooting FT's

  9. Haugen and Wilmer are still out................ Spencer Goodman injured in first minute of today's game and won't return.
  10. 50 North Dakota 52 UMKC 9:10 2nd half Sioux shooting under 50% from FT line.........................normally shooting over 70%...............making a big difference
  11. 45 North Dakota 44 UMKC ~12:00 2nd half

  15. Better, except for at QB.
  16. Just for more comparison, here are the 2010 attendance figures for all of the schools that will make up the 2012 version of the Big Sky Montana------------------25,448 Montana St.--------------14,298 Cal Poly---------------------8,760 North Dakota--------------8,154 UC Davis-------------------8,115 Sacramento St.-----------7,576 Northern Arizona---------7,398 Southern Utah------------7,077 Weber St.------------------6,913 Eastern Washington---6,455 Idaho St.-------------------5,388 Northern Colorado-----5,023 Portland St.---------------4,895 I was surprised to find that 3 of the 4 new Big Sky teams outdrew all but 2 of the current Big Sky members.
  17. At under 600 miles, Northern Colorado v. USD is probably a bus trip for both schools. USD played at Northern Iowa twice in order to get them to come to Vermillion. They had another 2-for-1 agreement with NDSU that will be voided by their MFVC membership similar to our deal with Montana, only that was a straight up 1-for-1. I believe they are also getting Lamar in 2011 as a return for their trip this season. So they net 4 home games while UND nets 3. Only big difference is that UNI is a very desirable home game.
  18. I've never seen or read anything to indicate that SDSU was more than a one-time game.
  19. My guess is it will be a DII or NAIA as the season opener, giving us another 6 home game schedule.
  20. It is quite obvious to me that the decision to fill out the schedule with multiple sub-DI teams was mostly a fiscal one. I don't know what it cost NDSU to get St. Francis for 2011, but I know it cost a little over $100,000 for them to bring in Wagner. I also know that that was the neighborhood of the cost for us to bring in Stony Brook in 2009 when UND and NDSU were actually in a bidding war to get that team to come to either Grand Forks or Fargo and UND won. One can also assume that is in the area of what we paid Lamar to come to Grand Forks last season. When NDSU drew 18,000 @ $15/ticket for Wagner, they grossed $270,000. When UND drew 6,000 @ $15/ticket for Lamar, they grossed $90,000------not even enough to pay the opponent and pay the rent for the Alerus that week. And unless the Drake game is a home-and-home, which is possible, I'll bet it still cost close to $100k to get them to ride a bus up here. Being it is for the season opener, the athletic department stands an outside chance of breaking even on that game. By comparison, knowing that Sioux Falls cost $60,000 for two games, one can assume that the going rate for these regional sub-DI games in 2011 dollars is probably $35-45,000. The point is, the A.D. needs butts in the seats in order to pay to bring in the "quality" competition that so many here say they want. So if you wanna see "better" OOC competition, you better start showing up for Black Hills and Montana Western.
  21. The 2009 home opener against South Dakota was the last sell-out.
  22. No, I just personally preferred the 4:00 starts..........................
  23. UND Press Release: Six home football games on tap for 2011 Cal Poly will be the homecoming game................... 1:00 start time for all home games except for Drake & Black Hills
  24. My guess is that Cal Poly and USD will have the worst turnout of all the games. I believe the Poly game falls on the deer hunting opener, and hunting is still going on when the USD game will be played. Also, hockey is in full swing by November, and to a good number of fans, once hockey season starts football season is effectively over.
  25. UND has posted the schedule on the website..................................................just to warn you.............you're not gonna like it. 3 Sub-DI teams: Sioux Falls, Montana Western, and Black Hills St. Northern Colorado added as an away game. 2011 Schedule
