    Which is a recent development.

    Penn State still does.

And Ohio State is one of the richest athletic programs in the country. Minnesota and Wisconsin do fine. I don't think whether a school has hockey and football matters.

I don't think it has to matter, but I think that it can.  It all depends on choices by the athletic department.

    Wiki shows the 60's.

"Founding member of the CCHA in 1971."

Omaha started in 1997 and is head and shoulders ahead of them.

Penn State just started and is already passing Ohio State.

Omaha doesn't have a football program that is receiving all the school's funding and attention.

Relax, bub. It was off-week banter.

If any fan base knows that winning a banner doesn't come in January, it's this one. We've all experienced it several times in this decade alone. We get it. It was just something fun to think about.

Actually, I would think that would be the fan base of the Golden Chokers.  Their season-long mediocrity of the past few years may have made us forget that they are historically the kings of the second-half meltdown.

As someone mentioned earlier in this thread for a goal scorer Boeser can't even find space to even get a shot off so far in this tournament. Very surprised by that.

Especially considering how much space he has in college.  That being said, after noting the improvement in tournament performance from Schmaltz last year to this year, I would expect Boeser to be significantly better next year.

US has been better this period, still looks like the goalie will have to steal this one.  Time for Boeser from Schmaltz

I can't remember the last time I've even seen that line on the ice.  Feels like it's been a long time.

I agree with burd, I think this is what LJ is. And he's right, he's not taking too many offensive zone stick penalties. Shocking, as he's pretty much been the exact same player since his frosh year. Not much growth offensively. It's due to his skating.

Exactly.  I can handle LJ being blah so long as he isn't taking stupid stick penalties.

I thought Gornall played well last night.  I can only imagine how intimidating it is to play your first game in the Ralph, but he had some decent jump.  There seemed to be some chemistry between him, Sanderson, and Wolanin.

So glad to see Chyzyk back on the board.  Hopefully he can return to early season form now that he's gotten a couple.

And lastly, how sweet was Poolman's snipe to end the game?  Getting goals from two defensemen, and one of them a clean snipe, is great.

I'm at work so will watch the game later once I get home, but it's good that he turned it around.  Watching the USA/Sweden game, I kept thinking "and this guy will be the next #1 pick?".

I thought the same thing against Canada.  I guess Eichel only went 1-3-4 last year, and he's been ok in the NHL.
