I think he still has the talent to win, but won't find a spot in the historically "big-name" hockey programs. Is he even actively seeking a job or is he just kind of fading into the sunset?
Gwoz could replace Red at Michigan, and they'd keep him another 25 years or so.

Kasimir Kaskisuo signs with Toronto, I though he should stay at Duluth.
That's a big loss for the Bulldogs.

If we're thinking of the same trip, it looked to me like the FSU player tripped over his own feet.
He was leaning forward and looked unbalanced, but when they showed the up close replay, the DU player clearly used his stick to take him out.

How about "Holy Schnikees!"
Maybe Melrose will put on Bucci's suit and start singing "Fat man in a little coat".

I think Quinnipiac has enough speed and skill to keep up with BC. Difference is BC has a lot of experience at the Frozen Four, and all its distractions.
QU played Yale in the final the year Yale won, so while they haven't been there as often, QU has been there recently.

Absolutely blatant trip on a legit scoring chance. I was yelling at my computer quite a bit after that one. Definitely a turning point in the game, as Ferris had some good pressure up to that point.

Quinnipiac up 2-1 with 4min left in the second.
-
Ferris State with 2 goals on 3 shots after 1.
-
I'm rooting for Ferris. I hate Denver.

Ferris isn't rolling over like BU did.
True, though Ferris still doesn't have a shot with under 10min to go in the 1st. Denver definitely dictating play thus far.

1-0 Denver
Ferris had an incredibly aggressive PK up until Denver scored that PPG.

I decided to fly into Fort Myers, rent a car, and drive. I'm going solo at this point so if anyone else is looking to save some costs on hotel, let me know!
I recommend checking out Airbnb for lodging, too. I booked an entire condo less than a mile away from the arena for $350 total. There were a couple other options nearby (like a new house decorated entirely in Hello! Kitty!!!) in the same price range.

Allegiant airline tickets purchased. Landing in St. Petersberg-Clearwater at 245 Thursday afternoon, so that'll be a little bit close haha. Have an Airbnb lodging request pending within walking distance of the arena. Still debating whether or not to grab tickets beforehand.

Out of Portland, Maine. Though I just saw Allegiant has Bangor to Tampa/Stillwater directly for super cheap. Just trying to figure out if I'd land in time on Thursday.
-
Where are people staying? I'm trying to make it work. Flights are about $500, tickets another $200. If I can find reasonable lodging, I'm in.

So Schlossman picked Michigan to win this game. The team booed him when he walked into the locker room after the game hahahaha

I am a little baffled by the schedule of the regionals this year. That East Coast Bias is showing through with the Midwest/West Regional games being scheduled before the Northeast/East Regional games each day. Given the time differences, one would think it would make sense to have the Eastern regionals prior to the Western regionals.
I agree that the scheduling doesn't make a ton of sense, but I can't see how it's a bias. BC and Harvard didn't even start until 915 last night. No thanks.

I really like that all officials in the regionals are wearing '12' on the back of their helmets in honor of Butch.

I've said this before in this thread, I would be absolutely shocked if UNO gets offered. One needs to understand the politics and the hierarchy in the State of Nebraska, it is Big Red and then everybody else. Creighton gets pub in basketball but there is nothing UN-L can do about Creighton as they are private. UNO though, they have total control over. I just don't see UN-L sharing the Big Ten label with UNO, even if it's only hockey, and at the same time putting a barrier in their place to ever adding a hockey program themselves.
As someone who did undergrad at one of the 'everybody else' Nebraska universities, I completely agree with this assessment of Nebraska school politics.

Don Adam tweeted the other day that donations for Butch are up to $70,000. I'm sure it's even higher by now.

I still don't think its a great chance UND gets a call to become an affiliate but the faucet now has a subtle drip. Whether or not people like it, if the B1G offers we will take it. We'd be stupid not to. Plus UND offers more than Arizona State in the current situation.
The bolded statement is really dependent on what the Big Ten wants long term. If they're looking for someone to join the conference only while other B1G schools add hockey, then ASU would be a way better choice than UND.

Well, most years I don't fill out a bracket...and when I do, I end up picking the good guys. This year, I took a different route. I officially have St. Cloud over BC for the title. Other than a couple blips, they've been the most consistent, and have the depth to do it. Plus, even though they have a really tough regional, it will be friendly territory.
I have the same title matchup with BC on top. As much as I hate SCSU, I'd rather you're right than I am. Of course, I hope we're both wrong.

I love hearing from opposing fans, welcome Hhound! Teams that come in on that long of a winning streak are often the ones that run out of steam. That's a ridiculous run, but it does remind many of us of some Sioux teams over the past decade. It's quite the Jeckyl/Hyde season.
The obvious exception being Union 2 years ago. I think they hadn't lost since early February or something the year they won it all.

Not an early departure, but Vesey told Nashville he's waiting for unrestricted free agency on Aug 15.
