Downtown Pensacola is nice. My wife often comments that she could live down there. I live in the UWF area and love it. One of the big differences that I see in this area compared to GF, is how dirty it is. GF always looks so clean and maintained. Down here it seems if the medians get mowed once a year it's a miracle. And there is so much blight. especially since the hurricanes. When you live the first 20+ years of life in GF and move away, you appreciate how nice and clean it is.

Hopefully, backward Pensacola can share in some of Mobile's progress. The growth in the last 10 years has been phenomenal. Eastern Shore in particular is amazing. We plan on stopping off at Panera today in Eastern Shore on the way downtown Mobile for the Playhouse Disney show. What this has to do with UND's 2008 schedule is a mystery, but still fun.

I guess I was looking for a statement removing the "University of North Dakota" from Wisconsin's blackball list, preferably with flashing neon colored text, but we can't always get what we want in life.

I didn't realize that Wisconsin had changed their stance. Looking back through old threads, I find where Dan Hammer said that Iowa and Wisconsin had changed their stance, but there was no link to any written news report on the subject. The only thing I could find on the UW website is the document that I referenced earlier that stated they wouldn't schedule UND.

According to the article, Wisconsin made three phone calls to UND to discuss scheduling the game before scheduling Cal Poly. I can't help but think that there was some thought that a name change may be in the works, because it is against Wisconsin policy for them to schedule UND at this point. I believe that we are closer to losing the Fighting Sioux name than many think. I do like what is shaping up for the next few years.

Almost official... Hopefully, they will be able to get that 11th game.
