  1. If so I could see it as a regular. fun city easy to get to. There aren’t a lot of good warm weather destination spots where you can also walk around.
  2. For people at Vegas frozen four, how is the city doing hosting? Is it as good or better than Tampa as a destination location?
  3. here's a question...assuming UND doesn't win it, whats the order of Frozen Four teams you would prefer win the title from most tolerable to most annoyed if they win?
  4. how is Brad on top of everything? 😂
  5. This is about the biggest possible Frozen Four you could come up with. Destination city. 3 MASSIVE fanbases (UND, UW, UM). UND and UW for instance have been #1 and #2 in college hockey attendance for years with prideful sports cultures. Michigan probably has the most iconic college sports program across all sports (Maize and Blue, Big House, alums everywhere). The only bigger line-up would be exchanging Denver for Minnesota (large fanbase & MN) or BC/BU (to get the east coast & MA engaged). If you said, come up with the biggest possible F4...it's UND, Michigan, Minnesota, and dealers choice of Wisconsin/BU/BC.
  6. No Gophers in the Frozen Four. So not all bluebloods. 🤣
  7. Regarding Mercyhurst, were we supposed to play them at their rink next year (home and home because we played them at Ralph this year)? And if so, any ideas who we could replace them with?
  8. saw this online on social media platform.
  9. UND has a great hockey fanbase day in and day out but don't discount big ten teams for big games. Yes they have a lot of casuals. But when Michigan / Wisconsin / Penn State / Michigan State / Indiana etc. make it in any sport to a big game, the alums come out of nowhere. It wouldn't shock me if Michigan has 10,000+ at the game on Thursday. These alumni bases are huge and everywhere in the USA. Half of them may not even know who is the roster but they will show up. As for game times, the decision was 100% made by ESPN. They looked at the 4 teams and said that Michigan will sell to a national audience most thus give them the late game. Its as simple as that.
  10. these tickets are gonna be so expensive. Imagine the Michigan fanbase jumping on Stub Hub now to start buying. About as "big time" a frozen four of programs as you could get.
  11. Goes to show you how much ESPN sees the "Michigan brand" as the golden child of this tournament in Vegas since UND isn't the late game. And maybe they are right to casuals who are scanning ESPN. Just feels like to core hockey fans, UND vs Wisconsin would have a bigger following.
  12. Michigan coach looked like he survived a heart attack.
  13. how long until Duluth runs a Michigan player?
  14. most expensive frozen four ever for tickets?
  15. Pecknold might be the most arrogant and outspoken coach I've ever seen in college hockey. He's been saying stuff like this for years. Whether it's true or not, no need to air all that.
  16. Michigan. Duluth is little brother to them. But agree with other poster, UND Wisconsin Michigan and Denver would be awesome for Frozen Four. Big programs which will be good for college hockey and ESPN.
  17. The MSU coach called the Big Ten "the most challenging conference" yesterday. That conference hasn't won a single NCAA title. Does he seriously believe that?
  18. Because Las Vegas is in the Pacific time zone so they probably aligning the time to ET equivalent. When you live in the west, super early start times are common.
  19. Michigan is the most arrogant program/fanbase and I think BC is ahead of MN too.
  20. There is no reason our non conference schedule has to be so lame. Get Bemidji, Mankato, and other randoms off the schedule. Or heck, maybe shorten up the conference schedule by a weekend or two (it does feel like the NCHC has a lot of conference games).
  21. maybe this game against Wisconsin in F4 can put them back into second or third place? We need to play them every year during reg season.
  22. "The collective city of Minneapolis." Honestly for a big ten school, the University of Minnesota fan support and pride is pretty weak. Nothing like a college town. I've seen pictures of basketball and football games where the stadium is taken over by Wisconsin / Michigan / Nebraska / Iowa fans. This happens in hockey too for certain teams. The feeling in Minneapolis will be nothing like a college town and the gopher fans overall are too lethargic.
  23. EVERYONE BUY YOUR TICKETS FOR FROZEN FOUR. its gonna be insane trying to get tickets this year.
  24. I do have a soft spot for Quinnipiac... they were the ones that came back against Minnesota in that championship game. I laughed at the gophers for a year after that.
  25. is it me or does Pecknold look like he wants to punch someone in the face?
