  1. You know, it wasn't all that long ago that UND was in the same conference as SDSU (NCC). I certainly don't remember any issues that the NCC league office had to deal with because of the nickname squabble. I don't remember any Brookings incident because of it either. So why the hell does anyone think it would be such a big damned deal now?
  2. The vast majority of people think the other way - that there is nothing wrong with "Fighting Sioux" and those that agree with trying to force it being changed are a very tiny minority (ultra PC wackos) - therefore, there has been no net negative publicity, nor shall there be in the future.
  3. Yeah, like Gene Roebuck.
  4. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
  5. If the Summit believes that the benefit UND brings vs. the opposition is significantly affected by the nickname, the conference's leadership is so poor as to render them incompetent and brings into question the wisdom of joining such a conference.
  6. With the "core" requirement now going away, it will be interesting to see what conference realignments and expansion opportunities develop as a result. Patience may be rewarded.
  7. Your conclusion that UND basketball, volleyball, softball, etc. success = belonging to the Summit and only the Summit is not fact, but merely your opinion. Your conclusion that UND basketball, volleyball, softball, etc. belonging to the Summit and UND being the Sioux are mutually exclusive is not fact, but merely your opinion. Further commentary by the Summit on UND membership and its moniker is conspicuous by its absence. Could it be that the Summit has backed away from their ridiculous ultimatum, realizing that it was born out of bad-mouthing by a member school's now totally discredited administration and that UND already has a deadline they've negotiated with the NCAA?
  8. The Summit does not sponsor football. How many at large teams have made the NCAA basketball tournament from the Summit (or whatever it has been called before becoming "the Summit")?
  9. South club lounge (end Sioux shoot at twice); 2 seats each night; "bar stool" (end of row) seating; bench side of the ice; great seats; 2 free beverages per person (before drop of the puck), including all beers and any mixed drink that can be made with the spirit specially selected for the night; includes use of parking pass; in-seat drink service; free pre-packaged popcorn, chips, etc. and canned pop throughout the game (while it lasts - usually something left at the end of the game, I believe); another 2 standing room "seats" available (since the bar stool seats are the top row, all four in your party can be in immediate proximity of one another); $240 total or best offer for both seats, both nights. The Ralph changed the price from last year for the SRO - they are now $15 over an adult GA ticket ($40 each) - If you want one or more of these as well, it will be in addition to the $240 listed above. If you already have GA ticket ($25 each for adults, $15 each for youths, and $7 for students), it's my understanding that you can use that in order to gain admittance to the club as a "guest" (SRO) if you buy the regular club seats. One guest allowed per regular club seat, so you save at least $15 per SRO that way. PM me if interested. Thanks
  10. You know, your holier-than-thou act is getting really, really old - but that's probably your intention.
  11. Um, yeah, that'd be sarcasm, but thanks for showing up and beating your chest - really quite impressive.

  13. FSSN is on!
  14. Tonight's tickets are gone.
  15. Did you see and follow up on the third post on this thread?

  17. Got mine yesterday!
  18. MsKat, are you still looking for Manitoba tix?
  19. It's my opinion that LeBel is nothing more than a mealy-mouthed jackass.
  20. I stand by my comment - for what it's worth, I'd have absolutely no problem saying the same thing to him in person. I doubt the troll could say the same (i.e. making his comments in person to Hak) - one of those icy glares from Hak would turn him into a human popsicle more completely than the most advanced cryogenics lab.
  21. I think they look great, a huge improvement - the old ones were okay, but I was not a fan of the diagonal stripes. It was about the only thing that Dean Blais did while he was at UND that I thought he dropped the ball on. Now the boys have championship caliber sweaters. By the way, I too like Big A HG's designs, but not nearly as much as these new sweaters - you just can't beat that Sioux logo.
