  1. He was fine last year, and I could understand a miss in outdoor windy conditions. Missing inside the Alerus Center is a different matter though.
  2. An offensive line man not committing a block in the back in the first half and we have another touchdown. Just poor fundamentals and decision making by some players today.
  3. Honestly the whole pre-game sequence from when the band goes onto the field to the team coming out could use a whole rebuild. It feels dated and just doesn't get the crowd hyped the way it should. I remember going to a game back in 2016/2017 when the hockey team had the Hall of Fame game, since some of the band didn't travel, they just had them line up to create a channel for the team to run through (i.e. Minnesota, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Michigan, etc.) and obviously didn't play any music. For music they played "Enter Sandman" I think which the team came out late on because nobody told the team, yeah listening to "Enter Sandman" by Metallica until the very end when the team ran out while in the dark was an interesting experience and then immediately going into a recording of "Stand Up and Cheer". While it had promise, the downside to it was that the team was just awful back then and games required at minimum 5 cups of coffee to get to half time and leave because it was blowout in favor of the opponent which nobody knew because we were in the in Big Sky conference, and nobody fan wise really showed up back then. At minimum we should at least get a camera of the hallway walk with either "Enter Sandman" or "Welcome to the Jungle" next season. It says something when High School football teams can get an intro song and UND is like "best we got is something"
  4. Honestly having a "family value" concession stand located on the north and south sides of the field would be ideal. These stands would have like bare bone items like a plain hotdog that could be a $1.50 or $2 and make it reasonable for a family to attend the game without being a huge money sink, this would be something similar that Target Field has located in the Centerfield concourse. Even if that meant smaller portions that would be fine. As of right now, I don't think the Alerus Center or The Ralph have any have discounts for UND students at the concession stands setup for the season. There might be some for hockey when that gets closer.
  5. My only problem with the Fireworks display is that they start the display way too soon after the game is over. I went to the bathroom and then navigated my way through the main exit, and they had just started to light them off. We're talking about 5-6 minutes after the game had concluded. It would have been nice if they waited about 10 minutes after the game had concluded instead. I think I also only heard them promoting the fireworks display during the pre-game, nothing was really mentioned during the game itself. One thing I think would be a great thing is to do something similar with the what the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks do on Fireworks night and that is do the post-game radio interview which takes about 5 minutes and then wait about 5 more minutes and then start the show.
  6. That actually looks really nice. I remember when I was student between 2015-2019 and wondering where the hell Bronson Field was because the place had zero signage. Probably didn't help that UND rarely if ever promoted a sport other than Hockey and the Football at the time. And the Football team was questionable for promoting at the time because good god those games were long and boring back then.
  7. As far as I know every dorm, except for Fulton which was taken offline a few years ago, is as full as they can be while keeping the fire marshal happy. As for room availability, it can easily be forcing more doubles and only giving singles out as needed, capping the number of people who can return to the residence halls for their 2nd/3rd/4th year of college, etc. Last year, Housing was probably caught off guard with the number of people who wanted to live on campus still and the incoming freshman class, whereas this year they were planning for it and were prioritizing the incoming class or at least those that took the time to plan ahead and request the room assignment as soon as possible and not wait until the last minute. If there was plan for a new dorm(s) to build, my guess would be on the site of the Walsh/Squires/Bek/Hancock site. However, parking for on campus students as seen from the 2024-25 year was tight, and that area doesn't have a lot of parking to begin with. I would bet if UND can get the money to relocate the College of Nursing to be next to the Medical School that would free up the area for a dorm block with parking for the dorms being nearby.
  8. Housing probably limited the number of students who could return to the dorms to between 100-200 for the year which is a very small amount when you think about it. And those that did return, might have been moved to The Verge to make room for the freshman that were moving in.
