  1. We didn’t want him
  2. Anything is possible at this point
  3. Livanavage, Wiebe, Emery, and Verhoeff is a decent top 4 I would say… My god
  4. Check twitter… Verhoeff to UND this fall
  5. It’s been almost 2 hours since the bat signal. Hopefully there is an announcement soon.
  6. I believe very few schools knew McKamey accelerated before he committed. It was a surprise to some schools
  7. Having Patrick in Victoria is huge. Hopefully they are able to capitalize on Verhoeff and Reschny
  8. Reschny and Verhoeff as a package deal for next season? Verhoeff for next year would be quite the surprise considering our D is pretty good as it is
  9. Verhoeff follows UND and only UND on instagram. Not sure if that is recent or not. Maybe this could be him?
  10. This season and probably stay for 2 years
  11. I stumbled upon a twitter post from College Puck NXT that had Cole Reschny with UND and BC listed as suitors. Dylan James’ mom was in replies with a tweet that said “CR💚”. I know she had done something similar before Rickwood committed.
  12. The recent interest from Reschny could be a good sign. Reschny and Carbonneau have similar NHL draft stocks. I would think playing every scenario at UND would be better for his development. Reschny would already play behind Hagens in their lineup. 1C at UND would be his spot to lose and at worst he would play 2C between quality wingers.
  13. I wonder if this hurts or helps our chances of Recshny coming here. It seems like it’s between us and BC. BC has Hagens, Stiga, Conmy, and Gasseau. William Moore and Justin Carbonneau as late first/early 2nd round picks. Maybe Reschny would rather play guaranteed top 6 minutes at UND? Not saying he wouldn’t be able to play over all of those guys but he could see himself buried in the lineup some nights.
  14. UND will now need another defenseman for next year. It will be interesting to see which route they will go.
  15. Cole Reschny plays under James Patrick and he seems to be between UND and BC (instagram follows). I don’t necessarily know if Patrick would want to encourage Reschny to go to UND because he’d lose him next year in the CHL. Kind of a weird dynamic. If he is losing Reschny to college no matter what, I am sure he’d encourage him to come to Grand Forks. It will be interesting to see how many top guys stay in the CHL after being drafted.
  16. Schloss emphatically shut down any McKenna speculation a couple of days ago on his podcast
  17. I heard BC offered him 100k from a source that is wrong more than he is right. Considering he recently followed UND, he must have significant interest. I know I would not follow a team for no reason.
  18. Only follows 303 accounts. Does anyone follow him to see if he follows other teams?
  19. Top players want to play top minutes on top programs. NHL teams also want their draft picks playing significant roles. UND has talented players on the wing and have even more talent coming in a year (McKamey, Williams, Simpson, and Schultz). If UND gets the right guy(s) at center in the next couple of weeks, they are not only set up for next year but also set up even better for the year after. Imagine a lineup with Swanson, Gordon, Zellers, McKamey, and Williams with a guy putting up a PPG in the middle. If UND can grt a Boisvert type of recruit for next year, we are in a great position. Reading between the lines on Schloss’ pod yesterday makes me that UND is waiting on a very small group of CHLers to fill their remaining spots. They probably have an idea who it is, they are just working on making sure that player is eligible for next season with the NCAA.
  20. Why is that?
  21. Kids pick UND over a lot of top schools all of the time. Most, if not all, of UND’s offseason acquisitions were heavily perused by teams that have bigger pockets than us. Every kid prioritizes different things. Kids that love hockey are going to love UND. There are just as many reasons why a kid would pick UND as there is for why a kid wouldn’t. The only significant disadvantage in recruiting that UND has is money and I am not sure if those are the type of kids you want anyways. The beauty of college hockey is that a kid like Riese Gaber could be just as, if not more, impactful than a first round pick and do it for a longer period of time. A first round pick sticks around for 1-2 years and leaves while Gaber was an impactful player for 4 years and bleeds green.
  22. Cooper Williams seems like a good get
  23. I have no idea who this is going to be
  24. Last time I checked, I think our 4 guys likely getting drafted (Schultz, Simpson, Laurila, and O’Niel) were in the mid 3rd to 5th round range. It probably would take a player drafted in the first two rounds to make the team next year. If there is a lot of guys coming over to the NCAA, I am sure UND will be able to snag one or two.
