UND is in the mix, at the very least. There’s not a lot of reliable information out there on them so who knows what is true but I have seen/heard a few things about them taking a visit. I doubt they end up at a traditional blue blood if they make the jump this summer but it only takes one team make room for them. For all we know UND could be that team. Things can happen fast in college hockey nowadays.

Per the Called Up podcast, the Ruck twins have made it known to schools they want to go back to Medicine Hat for another year before potentially playing college. Most schools have shifted to recruiting them for 27/28 but they could be convinced to come next year for the right situation. Bryn and the Rucks have recently followed each other. They don’t follow any team accounts.

Bleyl opted to play next season in juniors a couple of months ago and is expected to be at MSU a year from now. According to MSU accounts on twitter, MSU is projected to be full next year but would make room for Rudolph, which makes sense.

Agreed but very inexperienced. I am also assuming Michigan is not in the mix because DuPont is likely to fill their last spot.

Sounds like there is some truth to the rumor of the Ruck’s visiting UND last week. The ND Ice Official podcast said today that there has been a couple of big name western Canadians on campus for a year from now.

Him saying that the Rucks met with about 15 teams last week is laughable. There is absolutely no way that they have had conversations with more than a handful of teams, let alone a quarter of the teams in college hockey.

During the week is definitely possible. I know some staff was out of town over the weekend. I think UND will be in on some high end forwards for 27/28. I could see one the of Brock England, Nolan Fitzhenry, and the Rucks come to Grand Forks. I’m betting on the Rucks returning to Medicine Hat and playing a year of NCAAs after.

If they are returning to the WHL for another season, UND is definitely in the mix. To be fair, Grinnell is asking for rumors that are real or fake and most of the comments about him being on UND’s campus are from burner accounts. I can tell you with certainty that no visits occurred last weekend.

Denver and Michigan would be my guess.

I’m not selling any McKamey stock quite yet. He had a higher PPG than Caleb Malhotra in the BCHL a year ago while being a draft class younger. I could see McKamey rising back into a potential first round pick with a good year. The talent is definitely there. Klimpke and Williams both play for Saskatoon and will be on campus next year. Both should be pretty good college players.

I think it’s worth noting that Carels definitely did not go rogue with commitment and his representatives certainly discussed it with potential teams before making it official.

I would be very surprised if Kernan isn’t at least middle 6 next year. He was one of the best freshmen in the NCHC down the stretch last year. I don’t know who you’d move down, but I have a feeling he is going to pop.

Dumanski only follows UND hockey and Carels commented “see you soon” on his latest instagram post saying goodbye to PG a couple of days ago. Would be a little surprised if it wasn’t him.

I would be slightly nervous if the chatter of him signing right away continued after his commitment. As of today, he has decided to hold off until next spring to turn pro. I think he was weighing his options, including pro, over the last month or so and this was his decision. I think a lot changed once he actually got on campus.

For what it’s worth, Ryan Johnson is a UND alum and was just announced as Vancouvers new GM.

I have had this same thought. I do not think Carels would officially announce a commitment and sign his aid if he might not even go. I also think UND would prefer if his commitment was not announced until after the draft if he wasn’t fully committed. He could still get 10-20 games in the NHL next season, similar to Martone, and it really only is like a 9 month commitment.

Carels and Bauer Dumanski would make a lot of sense.

Engel and other portal exits are still in Grand Forks

I believe all of those guys are recent follows besides Verhoeff and Reschny. That would make sense if he visited over the weekend.

To be fair, that podcast has been all over Carels to UND for months. Schloss talked about Carels quite a bit in his podcast yesterday and said Carels their top choice. It feels like it NHL or UND. I do not think he takes a visit if his mind is made up. His sister plays at Jamestown so I am sure his family wouldn’t be opposed to him coming to Grand Forks.

From like 43:00 to like 43:20 Cam Robinson said “he’d like I think” and “I think he’s expected to sign”. Definitely a little jumbled but I think they are talking about Carels but are kind of all over the place so I wouldn’t read much into it.
