Why does Sather get every excuse in the book? Every single other coach in the country is dealing with the exact same thing. People are too busy making excuses at UND than actually figuring out how to win instead.

If anything this is good for a program. This is the ultimate selling point to any high level high school recruit that may not be getting the P4 offers they are hoping for. You tell them to come to UND and play well for 2-3 years and then you can transfer to whereever you want AND get paid. That’s what the good coaches at this level are doing and will do.

Super happy for Treysen!! Excited to see where he goes and follow along next year! He’s a great kid and big advocate for ND basketball!

I don’t necessarily disagree with you, but Panoam will be fine at PG for us if we get a wing and a big guy. You need a stud wing so you have someone to score the ball. Without that it is pretty much just Panoam. You need a big guy to protect the paint and help our overall team defense. This season our starting center had 1 block in all of conference play……yes you read that right. Last year our starting center had 3 blocks in all of conference play….. Our team defense is always going to stink until we get an actual big guy. These undersized 6’6” centers are not going to cut it.

I don’t think it would be a complete overhaul but the staff would definitely need to hit the portal harder than they have in the past to find guys that can help big time. You would still have Panoam, King, & Mara to build around. Find a stud wing that can score the ball and an actual big guy. That has been the missing piece. This staff needs to finally get a legit big man. Enough of guys like Amar or TT as our 5 man.

@jdub27 has also said multiple times that coaches with .330 win records should be 50/50 on getting contract extensions or not. His opinions on anything actual sports related should be taken very very lightly

Unfortunately Sather isn’t going anywhere unless he chooses to go somewhere else himself. We just have to keep hoping he decides to go back to Northern. That’s really the only hope we have for change
