I reviewed the policy on posting tickets here and I have already posted this at the ticket exchange. I thought I would throw this out here, possibly a slightly different level of interest here that may have connections to someone that may be interested. I guess basically I'm looking for somebody (or group of somebodies) that may be on the ticket waiting list, may want to "try it out" before pursuing their own tickets, or has their own reasons for not being able to fully commit to season tickets. I'm NOT jumping off the bandwagon, it's strictly because the kids are getting more involved as they get older. I've had to sell 2 series (CC and Wisc) and the Friday night Dever game, ate the tickets for Bemidji State (couldn't give them away) and some ones and twos for various reasons throughout the season. The whole family loves Sioux hockey and in ten years or so, the kids will both be gone, and then I'll only need 2 anyway. So, read my pitch below, talk it up and spread the word if you know somebody that my be interested. Currently my family has 4 season tickets, Section 314A, Row G, Seats 3-6, front row against the glass over the tunnel in the NE corner, there are only 6 seats in this row. We have 2 boys in youth hockey, the younger one will be moving up to a traveling team next year and my older one already is on a traveling team. We have decided to drop 2 of our season tickets OR make a deal with someone to split our package. If you would like to split our package with us the deal would be something along the lines of: The interested party would get 2 tickets per game for all games or 4 tickets per game one night and we get the 4 the other night. Price would be face value of 2 season tickets plus the Fighting Sioux Club membership fee (Century Club, this year was $110. The Century Club is only allowed 2 full price tickets per membership and I currently have 2 memberships). There are no parking passes associated with these tickets. Based on 2004-2005 prices, the total package for 4 tickets and 2 Fighting Sioux Club memberships was $1,650 ($357.50 per ticket X4 + $110 FSC X2); you would be looking at an investment of around $825 for your share of the package. You would get right of first refusal for any game we have tickets for but cannot attend, as we would like same for any tickets you cannot use. Once that opportunity has been offered to the other party, then the tickets are up for grabs to whoever you wish to pass them on to. I will be looking to split our current package until around 1 May 2005. At that time, we will drop 2 of our tickets. I'm not looking to make a dime here, just afford somebody the opportunity to see the greatest hockey div 1 hockey team in the land without having to go through the process of dealing with the ticket office and the FSC. If this sounds like something you are interested in, private message me here at SiouxSports.com and we can discuss further.

Well, it's over and guess who won? Must be nice to get such a cupcake schedule that really shows where the power in college hockey is! Jan. 14, 2005 ECACHL Wins Inaugural Commissioner's Cup Compiled by USCHO Staff The ECAC Hockey League claimed full ownership of the first-ever Commissioners' Cup Series Wednesday evening (Jan. 12), as Dartmouth defeated New Hampshire 9-8 in the final Cup game for the ECACHL and Hockey East. The ECAC Hockey League entered the weekend knowing it had secured at least a tie for the Cup, as the league had a 5-1-0 record to No.2 Hockey East's 4-2-0 mark. Created by the commissioners from the nation's six Division I ice hockey conferences, the Commissioners' Cup Series awards points for various games played among the conferences. Each conference participates in seven designated contests, and the conference that amasses the most points through its seven games wins the Cup. The ECAC Hockey League won the Cup with victories by Rensselaer (5-1 vs. Army), St. Lawrence (6-4 vs. Miami), Brown (2-1 vs. Minnesota-Duluth), Harvard (4-1 vs. Maine), Union (4-0 vs. Connecticut) and Dartmouth (9-8 vs. New Hampshire). As of now, the ECACHL finishes the series with 12 points followed by Hockey East with 10. College Hockey America (with one game left) and the CCHA (with two games remaining) are tied for third with six points. The WCHA (one more game to go) is fifth with five points and Atlantic Hockey is sixth (series complete) with two points. The Commissioners Cup will be presented to the ECAC Hockey League at its championship, played March 18-19 at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, N.Y.

I posted this in another thread but it was extremely off topic, it fits much better here. I'm sure some have heard this. I got a Sioux Insider e-mail on Thursday and heard it on WDAZ last night. All remaining seats for the WJ games on Monday are $5! It is WJ Appreciation Day for all the volunteering and support the communities have put up. I got 2 additional tickets for $24 on Ticketmaster.com, you know, $10 for the tickets and $14 for "convienience fees". IF USA loses to Sweden tonight, they will be playing for 5th place Monday night. I think it is a REA/USA Hockey ploy to take the WJ attendence record from the '03 tournament in Halifax but it's a great deal to see great hockey.

Due to family work schedules, I've had to go to the Canada games and my wife gets the USA games. I wish the locals would pick up a thing or two from the Canadian fans, outstanding team backing, the USA games I've seen are more like the sedate Sioux crowds. One thing that stuck me on Monday when there were 10,700 rowdy Canadians, that rumor has it drunk REA out of beer, REA staff was letting them get away with stuff that would get a lifetime ban at a Sioux game. A group just below me was banging on the glass everytime any player skated by, banging on the glass with sticks and shafts that had Canadian flags. The dasher was lined with beers, I think only one got spill the entire game during a check. Many a fan had comsumed a lot of alcohol and no security came into the area to take the fun out of the moment. I got to go to the USA/Czech game and a guy in a Calgary Flames jersey got up in a tunnel exit and tried to fire up the crowd for about 5 minutes with building sucess but the results were far less than the same actions during the Canada/Finland game. He went back to his seat and put his head in his hands like he was saying "what do you have to do to fire this crowd up?". But overall I like the atmosphere during the WJ, not as corporate as Sioux games, just hockey fans!

Just got home from the Team USA booster luncheon at the Alerus. I got my World Jr jersey the REA sent out for early ticket purchases last year autographed by the whole team and two posters autographed for the kids. All the players were great! I was in uniform and Ryan Suter came up to me after the lunch as the team was leaving and shook my hand and thanked me for my service. Wow! Nice crowd and nice things said about everything that USA Hockey and the players have experienced so far here. Keep it up Grand Forks and Thief River. Good luck boys!

Russia vs. Sweden tonight at the EGF Civic Center. I'm anxious to see this one. This will be my first international game besides the Tues games back in August at the eval camp. My son, an EGF Squirt, will be one of the kids giving out commemorative medals to the teams after the game. As far as the Sunday Sioux vs. USA, I was there with the family, our 5th of 6 games on Saturday and Sunday for us (3 Sioux games and 3 Squirt games, 2 of which were in Red Lake Falls). We only missed 3/4 of the 1st period of the Sat Canisius game because our son's 2nd game on Sat didn't get over until 5:50. Hockey is (our) life!
