I'm a huge Twins fan and I'm so thankful that Reusse wrote that article about biased media in Minnesota. Dick and Bert have gotten so awfully homerish with the Twins its ridiculous. I don't mind Gorg. Knowledgeable about hockey, and does add a lot to the broadcasts. A lot of people don't like Pat in the cities because for the most part he tells it the way it is. I don't think a lot of writers would have the guts to call out a guy like Tubby Smith or the beloved Ron Gardenhire, but Reusse does. Can't call out Schlossman for not ripping into players. Last night on the game blog he openly said that Mattson wasn't having his best game, and has done so a number of times with other players as well. TH is a homer.....even through my green colored glasses. Like last night him calling out the SCSU player for a dive when he was actually hurt. Love his play by play, but a homer he is.

I just did the what if calculator and the 4-8 spots are going to be an absolute dog fight in the league. UND has ten games left in the league, and will likely need to win 7 or 8 out of ten to have home ice in the WCHA playoffs. Next week the Minnesota schools can help out UND with a sweep over SCSU and Michigan Tech, of course UND needs to get at least 3 out of their series with Bucky to create some separation between themselves and those teams. Anchorage is also a big player as well next weekend. Take it to the pios.....

Every time you want to bury this team they find a way to make you believe with the limited bodies that they have. The fact that this team still has a decent chance of making the postseason is remarkable.

Playoff like intensity and its only January. Can't wait for the rest of the season.

Welcome to the nodak message board.....might be you're the obsessed one.
-
I don't think we'll see Race Horse hockey here in the third period. UND just doesn't have the depth to play that way for 60 minutes. Or do they?

2-1 Sioux. Knight.

1-1 Early in the game....

I can't believe I just watched Minnesota get a goal disallowed (right call), and the three stooges....LaPanta, Woog, and Hankinson had no idea why until they looked up in the rule book. They watched it twenty times....and still thought it should be a goal. They whined and moaned for ten minutes....LaPanta looks in the rule book.....ohhh.....they officials the call right....idiots....
-
Well....LaPanta hasn't dropped the Kristo hit since it happened....but failed to say anything more than the penalties called on Alt and whoever the gopher player was that leaped into the back of MacWilliam and put his shoulder into his head.

Jake Hansen with a cross check to the wrists of a CC player after the whistle. I wonder what Wally Shaver thought of that....
-
Also good to see Rowney starting to find the score sheet. Secondary scoring is what UND needs.
-
Very glad to see Eidsness playing like a senior veteran. And that strong goalkeeping gets UND the lead.

Battle of the depleted hockey teams this weekend. I agree with Sicatoka. Put Maris on a wing with Knight and Kristo. Goalies are supposed to be the best athletes on the team. Get the Puck to either guy, and in the offensive end stand in front of the net and draw a defenseman out of the play. Pretty simple.

Just read a story online that Brad posted about J.T. Brown doing some obscene gesture after a goal. Anybody know exactly what he did? Blais sounded pretty pissed off about it.

I thought when they said the lower bowl was sold out that it'd be the entire lower bowl...not just the basketball seating lower bowl....

One guy that I need to see fight someone is Stephane Pattyn....I mean you see him out there screaming and hollering and throwing the body around quite a bit, you wonder how he could handle himself in a fight. I think in both series against goldy he challenged guys, but rarely is the time nowadays where you'll see a fight in college hockey. Not that fighting is the answer, but I'll never forget when Mike Prpich fought Peluso from Duluth in the first game of the year in the hall of fame game. That was the only fight that Prpich got into that entire year, but showed teams what the hell they would be dealing with if they tried to mess with the Sioux. Here is the link so people can remember...

Glad to see action taken by Hakstol in the Blood situation. Knew something was coming from the team, now its time to see if the WCHA will have anything to say about it. UND player hurt on an illegal hit from behind......and Alt won't miss a shift....

Excellent win for the women today over a talented Badger squad. Should help with making the NCAA's at the end of the year.

Each week it seems like a new player goes down. Its like a never ending list of guys that are dinged up or playing hurt. And thats minus the injuries that the team keeps extremely secret and no one hears about until the end of the season when all is said and done. Every game from this point on is almost like a playoff game for UND. Sitting at 20th in the pairwise gives them hope, but it also means that they've got to get 3-4 points most weekends from here on out. The team could be extremely shorthanded on Friday night if the WCHA decides to suspend Mr. Blood for losing his cool. Pretty tough to lose a guy that plays 30 minutes a night, but I'm sure we'll hear something early in the week. The last time these teams played the rookie netminder stole the show. Hopefully UND can get to him early, and play with a lead in a place that can get pretty crazy. I'll predict a split, with St. Cloud winning Friday, and UND coming back on Saturday to earn the split. PS: In creating this post I typed Sioux at least five times before having to change it.....baby steps....baby steps....

Okay Wooger, we appreciate you posting here. We've all heard it before. Over age Canadians playing against younger elite Minnesotans. Thank you.

Hey, after our team wins lets go to the fan site of the other team and act like morons....buh buh...whattya say?
-
A gopher player would never do something like that without an entire team to hide behind.
-
Hey, call them goons, but at least they'll stand up to someone instead of hiding behind their entire team. I'd rather have a goon, then a chicken !@#$ who pulls something then hides.
