  1. At least the US finally got a point so they'll have to wait to hand out the cup until Sinday.
  2. I can't believe Brooks wasn't out there. It'll be over soon....
  3. USA got swept in the morning session. This is setting up to get really ugly if they can't scratch away 3 this afternoon. 4-0 Europe.
  4. Verlander pitches on Saturday I'm told, so hopefully all involved do enough winning to make it worth his while to pitch that day. I think being the 6th seed in the playoffs is a bit more attractive than being the 5th. Most teams would rather play the Twins than the Rays. As it stands today. Baltimore, Tampa, and the Twins have all clinched the postseason. If Texas gets swept in Seattle they're likely out. 1. Baltimore 2. Texas 3. Twins 4. Rays 5. Blue Jays 6. Astros 7. Mariners (1.5 back of the Astros)
  5. Of all the remaining teams I'd love to see Houston get knocked out for obvious reasons. Very important that Houston clinches nothing before the last game and Verlander has to pitch on Sunday. That way he's spent until at least Thursday and can't make a Tuesday appearance.
  6. First rumors of Kirk to NY Jets. Let's see....
  7. One of my favorite things about the Ryder Cup is the "home team" getting to set the course up to their advantage. Really takes the huge hitters out of it if they can't go straight off the tee. Team USA better adapt better than they did in Paris.
  8. Who ya got? To me the European side is going to be incredibly tough to beat with Rahm, Rory, and Hovland all playing well. Thank bleeping God Ian Poulter isn't on Europe any more. It never matter how poorly he'd played leading up to the Ryder Cup he always found a way to play well in the competition. I'll say Europe wins 15 and 1/2 to 12 and 1/2.
  9. And now we are blaming the fans for being too loud during the end of the game so we couldn't get the play in........ This entire year is karma for how last season went. We won so many one score games in a row that it had to come back at some point. We've now lost 4 games in a row dating back to last season by that single score differential. The way Allen went off makes one believe that Adam T. will have his revenge game in Charlotte next week.
  10. I mean it's the old addage, you've got to beat every one. I don't think they should be uncomfortable playing any of these teams. There isn't a giant killer team of any of these teams like a Yankees of the past. Any of these teams could represent the AL in the series.
  11. Now the A's for three. Come on here fellas, three more wins. Texas is attainable.
  12. KOC kind of lost at the end. Kirk looked over and instead of spike the ball and have three plays it was confusion. Could be 0-5 after the KC Chiefs come to town. Looks to me like the relationship with Kirk (367 with 3 TDS and a pick) is coming to an end. At some point he's getting hurt this year. Getting hit too much.
  13. If it ended today the Twins would be hosting the Astros. Crazy how much movement there is likely to be. You could see the Astros not make it with their remaining schedule after the Royals. The Rangers just got swept in Cleveland, yet lead the AL West. I know it's celebratory at the moment, get the guys rest that need it, but keep playing baseball. Win 4 of these 5 home games and you've got a great chance for a first round bye.
  14. The Twins are only 4 wins shy of Houston. Very small chance they could grab the #2 seed but with the teams they play these next 9 games its possible. Houston has the Royals, Mariners, Diamondbacks. Mariners have 6 with Texas and 3 with Houston. Texas has 6 with Mariners, 3 with Anaheim. Toronto has 5 with Tampa, 4 with the Yankees.
  15. Amazing how valuable a guy like Willie Castro is. Plays all over the place, can steal bases, hit for power. Glad he's a Twin.
  16. Just need the Royals to hold on today and the Indians would be officially dorme. Glad that the Twins should be able to clinch at Target Field this weekend.
  17. Just a formality now of who they'll play in the postseason. After today's game against the Reds, all the teams they are playing are just playing out the rest of the season (Angels, A's, Rockies). Hopefully Royce's hammy isn't an issue, but from the looks of it he will be on the mend a bit. Hoping to see him on the 26 man playoff roster obviously. I'm sure they will give Gray and Pablo one more start before putting them into position to start the Wild Card Week in Minnesota starting on Tuesday 10/3. Stewart and Paddack both threw last night in St. Paul. I would assume we will see them at some point over the next two weeks. Having Stewart in form for the later innings in the bullpen would be fantastic.
  18. I think Cleveland will be okay with Ford. A Rog was the Jets hopes and dreams. Makes you wonder what the 09 Vikes would've looked like if Favre got hurt.
  19. The little things this game guys: -Making extra points. -Holding on to the football. -No drive extending penalties on special teams. -Taking advantage of when the opposing QB throws the ball to your defensive backs. The rabbits are extremely beatable. Montana State proved that. Expecting a one score game in Brookings.
  20. We have got to be top five in FCS football in missed XPs the last however many years. I mean it's at the point where you expect to miss one at least once a week. And when was the last time the Bizen or Jacks missed one? Hell, how about time between two misses? We are three games in with two already....
  21. Hopefully Sonny has another good start and can get his ERA below Cole's for the Yankees.
  22. I really think it's time for a younger and fresher approach. I'll never know a smiggen about the game of football that Bubba does, but I do feel once things feel somewhat dormant it's time for a new approach. I thought I'd love Zimmer coaching my Vikings forever, but the time came and everyone knew. I think it's getting there with Bubba. People will have their differences of opinion about what success looks like. Is it a great season making the tournament most years, but losing out soon after? I dunno, maybe that's where I see things feeling dormant. Every year we're 7-4 and complaining that we got sent on the road before a first round exit.
  23. Didn't see any of the game. From a psyche standpoint we've got to make extra points. Instead of being down one score we're still down 10 because we are chasing a miss on the easiest play in football.
  24. That Don Baylor trade. Man....
