  1. The thing is this is the first year Nelson has been asked to be the man. That’s a huge jump from 3rd or 4th option to being the go to guy. (I’ve said Nelson is a potential NBA guy since I first saw him his senior year in high school). Skunberg was a role playing guy off the bench. That’s a huge jump to being the #2 option and being the go to guard. Morgan had talent but was limited in minutes last year due to the players in front of him. This wasn’t 3 players that have proven to be all conference level players. Either Richman has done a hell of a coaching job or the summit league is awful this year. Could be a combination of both
  2. Maybe it was 80% of their minutes from last year. They returned one starter. Lost 4 players to other D1 schools in the portal and graduated another that was 1st team all conference. I hope UND can get to a point where we lose that much in an offseason and can still contend to go to the big dance
  3. I can tell you Hong does not miss in warmups. Dude is money
  4. NDSU is going to be playing in the summit league championship after losing something ridiculous like 80% of their scoring from last year. Quick rebuild
  5. Wasn’t BJ offered by St Thomas out of high school? Would be a bad look to lose another player to an in conference team. How many other in conference transfers have there been the last few years? Only thing that comes to mind is Harden-Hayes committing to Kansas City before their coach got fired
  6. Brady played hard. Brady struggled guarding the ball. Brady excelled in team defense. Excellent weak side defender. Brooks has much more upside in being an on ball defender. I do not think it’s controversial to say that.
  7. With the way people are talking, are we just assuming Omot is gone at this point?
  8. No if you play hard the results do not matter. In all seriousness I think Brooks has massive upside and can be an elite on ball guy. I’m probably higher on him than most on here but I would be very disappointed if he was not back next year
  9. I guess you can look at the data however you want. At the end of the day can you guard the man in front of you? I think Brooks can and will be able to do it at a high level
  10. @HoopsFan03 has the ability to get the synergy data, but 3/4 of the way through the season Brady’s defensive stats were horrible. He couldn’t guard anyone on ball. Great help side defender and someone willing to step in a put a body on someone. Brooks has a much higher ceiling. Bigger, stronger, more athletic. Much more scoring potential with the ball in his hands. Finds a way to impact the game without the ball in his hands. Now something happened this year with his shot, he regressed in terms of his mechanics. Would like to see a complete overhaul this summer but I don’t think that will happen
  11. I know nothing but there was a player this weekend that looked very disinterested in doing any of the little things. Just from watching on tv it looked like his mind was somewhere else. Will be interesting to see if it was just a couple of bad games or if his mind was truly somewhere else
  12. I know absolutely nothing but Sather was pretty emotional when asked about coaching this group next year. He said with how college basketball is he doesn’t know if he’ll get a chance to coach the same group.
  13. You’re really a grown adult doing this. Sad. Enjoy the rest of the game
  14. ORU was fatigued by the end of the regular season. Almost impossible to beat with a week of rest
  15. If they put Vanover on Trent again, need to have Trent screen away. No help on those will lead to shooters getting open looks. Hope we are prepared for that
  16. There is a night and day difference between the team we are seeing now and what we saw at the start of the year. And believe it or not Sather has made some of the adjustments that people on this board were calling for. Shortening the rotation, upping the tempo at times, much more of a free flowing offense, letting guys play and not yanking them after one mistake. Credit to Sather for making these adjustments. It has been a lot of fun to watch this second half of conference play and am looking forward to see how we play against maybe the best team in Summit League history
  17. No, there's people on here that are mad that people who had criticism at the start of the year aren't mad that we are winning now. It's very strange and honestly makes no sense. Some would say comical
  18. Ignore them. Some people are mad that you’re not mad. It’s odd
