  1. Panzer's good enough and hopefully he can show everyone that small guys can tear it up. This is the best thing yet that has happened since Blais left.
  2. 1 UND 2 UMD 3 UW 4 UM 5 SCSU 6 DU 7 CC 8 UAA 9 MTU 10 MSUM I don't know, I'm not too sure.
  3. The Sioux got a new coach and a lot of young new talent. Brady might struggle at first but he'll start clicking with his new linemates. We won't dominate the WCHA this year but we will compete.
  4. I lived in Grand Forks my whole life until last year, loved it, I just hung out with the wrong people and was going nowhere. Moved to the cities in October, blows donkey cack, and the rate of pay isn 't much better here vs the cost of living. Most people work at least two jobs down here. Unfortunatly if you can get in to see a college hockey game down here the arena sucks, you can't walk during intermissions, and you have to bring your own food and drink if you don't want to miss half the game.
  5. Who knows what about this kid, he's the latest UND recruit? C'mon insiders let us inquiring minds know.
  6. Yeah, why is that no one is talking about Brad Miller? Spiro had signed intent weeks before anyone on this site started talking about him, it took until it was in the papers till we started chatting about him.
  7. The only player I think might be capable of playing at 17 right now is Sydney Crosby, but even he hasn't progressed as much lately.
  8. The Ralph should expand across from the north parking lot.
  9. Red River also had Paul Murphy, Mark Bry and his brother, who never made a difference in their late 90's run. So the Lamoureaux kids are payback for them guys and might not be the last time it happens in the city civil war.
  10. What would they change the name to? They'd try give us names like all the new NHL teams, some new animal with fire behind it.
  11. That would be very cool if Grand Forks could get that.
  12. Recruiting is getting worse around here. Off hockey subject, the top HS Football team in the country for the past 13? years is De La Salle from California and they haven't lost in that span. They have to recruit players, I don't think that part of California breeds D-1 Football players. How long, if ever, will competing schools of De La Salle let that go on? Probobly never
  13. There sure ain't nothing wrong with Canadians. The Canadians have helped us win 7 National Champioships and provide our only Jokey Baker Award. Did Herb Brooks recommend UND over MN because we had a better tradi tion or something? I thought I saw that in the paper one time, I could be wrong.
  14. Its countdown time for the last bit of pride we can boast about Sioux fans. 2pm today Zach Parise should take home the hardware, but will that be the case?
  15. Does anybody else think that Grant has the Midas Touch? Besides his two national titles, he won three consecutive state titles and two national bantam titles. I don't know what he did in the USHL but I think thats good on a resume to be classified as a winner. Right? Anybody I've talked to in GF says Ryan has more skills than Grant but that doesn't mean he knows how to win like Grant.
  16. I don't want Maine to win at all just because they are from HE. I don't want denver to win becausethey already have 5 NC's and they would be one behind us after this one, I guess I'd rather see this though because I want to show the nation how deep the WCHA is. Our #4 team against their #1 team in the country. Also I won't feel as bad if the Sioux went down at the hands of the National Champs.
  17. I went to school with Grant from elentary through high school. He was cool with me and I hope he has a successful career. I was not the best hockey player by any means (in fact I think I sucked) but I only played until Bantams and I was on one of Grants teams (peewee) and he was always cool, slow back then but always in the right place in the right time as he is nowadays. Another pro player that I played with back then was David Tanabe, he was a prick thinking his s**t didn't stink. He didn't have many friends probobly because he didn't want or need them obviously since he was so good at hockey. Its kinda cool that I played with a pro at one point but at least now I can be happy for the person.
  18. NHL teams usually switch it up during the season then stick to one in the playoffs I think? If they were both healthy what would you do in Detroit with Hasek, Joseph, and with a little hope, Legace?
  19. I think someone needs to prove themselves quick and keep up the pace otherwise Blais is going to mix it up. Brandt was the #1 guy most of the year but then when he'd slip they'd switch. I see Blais's strategy but I think it might mess with the goaltenders confidence too, also I don't coach the team and know whats said in practice to the goalies from the coach so I don't know how they interpret getting replaced all the time. We do have alot of ALOT of goalies but I'm still wondering about Kasey Moreland. Where is he going? I haven't checked the recruit sites to see if he's following his big bro and going to St. Cloud. I know he hasn't had an outstanding season in the USHL but he was outstanding in the NDSHS Hockey tournament.
  20. If there is lockout won't some of the pros play in the minors so it will be tougher for Parise to get a spot on a roster? I guess not all of the pros will need a paycheck so he probobly won't have that tough of a time.
  21. I think Detroit has what it takes but just like the Sioux did this year Detroit did last year, choked or ran into a hot goalie, whichever way you want to look at it.
  22. Ther more and more I read SOME of these comments I realize how stupid people are. Dean Blais is a GREAT coach and there are probobly some better coaches out there but I'm happy with what he can do. Zach Parise left and that hurts but does anyone realize how long it will take for a new system to work after Blais's? Let alone his recruiting is second to none, hockey players want to play here because of our tradition and to be coached by the best. We've lost great college players before and recovered and got lucky our last coaching change but I don't think we can improve to the likes of when we had the Gino-Blais change. There are so many more factors in the Denver loss that we have no clue about because we were not on the ice. I pray that Deano stays as long as he's physically able and any retard that thinks firing him would help UND in any way needs help themselves.

    No Excuses

No excuses, but watching the Sioux last night in the third period looked like they were kinda gasping for air. They couldn't put anything together in the last few minutes which they can normally get some good pressure on their opponent when they're in desparation. If the game wasn't so wide open and both teams didn't have to scrap for the first goal the whole game I think it could've been different. I think that thin air started to get to the Sioux in the third period and gave Denver somewhat of an advantage. No excuses though, Denver did a great job on beating us and good luck to them in the Frozen Four.
