My bad, Minn-Duluth didn't lose, they tied and won.

Sioux #1?? Three of the four teams ahead of the Sioux lost one game this weekend. BC, the fourth team, did not play. USCHO tends to favor East Coast teams, so I'm predicting BC is the new #1.

Way to go Sioux!!! Brandt with a really good game! Spirko with a great game! The entire team with a great game! 2-0-0!!

It seems that we're beating a dead horse here. I served in the military, and I personally don't agree with changing the song, however, this is my opinion. Since I don't agree with it, I don't say it. I don't go around telling people who do say it that it offends me or to stop it. Under the first amendment, it is there right to say it. That is what makes our country so great. The Star Spangled Banner was not written with the Sioux Nation in mind, and I'm pretty sure the Sioux Nation would never adopt the song as one of their own, but is really irrelevant. No matter how much arguing is done, there will always people who disagree with it, and there will always be people who agree with saying it. We control one person, ourselves. However, I'm sure if people who are really against other people saying 'Sioux' instead of 'Brave' could contact Kupchella. Chuck always seems to be looking at new rules to impose on the sports fans supporting the Fighting Sioux. I do feel it should be sung right before the game starts, but I do agree that these people who sing at the rate of molasses should be told to speed it up. It does take away a lot of energy.

As I told a crying Gopher fan in St. Paul last month, the world is an imperfect place. I'm sure Zach's not sitting at home dwelling on this, so why should we? We know he was the all around best college hockey player in the nation. The committee members see highlights only. I'm sure they don't see the double teaming that Zach had all year. It's pretty sad that you can't handle opinions from non-Sioux fans. It really shows close-mindedness. The best way to learn about other teams is to visit their sites, and chat with their fans. Seeing fans of other teams symbolizes a real college hockey fan. Putting up with all the BS they receive takes a lot of heart. Let's welcome everyone. As far as the Hobey being a curse for the NHL, there are a few recipients who have done okay. Neal Broten, Brendan Morrison, Brian Gionta. Will Lessard be there, most likely, no, but I'd hardly say the award is a curse.

You must be basing this off of what you see on television. I'm in a school everyday, and I rarely see the same type of fighting in an NHL game in a school. I would agree though with the video games and movie part.

Has anyone heard the specifics yet? How many years? How much per year? Signing bonus?

We've got a new player on our team, Brad Murray. I think he's called him everything except for Brady.

That happened earlier in the game as well when Wisconsin was on their 5 on 3. The defensemen skated into the Maine forward, who then made a pretty good dive, resulting in a Badger penalty. Pretty weak call. About as week as the call on Smaby last night when he hit the guy when they were both going into the boards, and he was called for hitting from behind. I thought that was pretty weak as well.

The color commentator for this game is a Maine faithful. Does that show?
-
Can you tell these refs are not from the WCHA? The last two Wisconsin penalties would have been fine on any night in the WCHA. Wisconsin needs to realize this, so they don't keep going shorthanded. These Maine boys wouldn't be able to skate with the WCHA powerhouses every night.

Anyone know a radio station that's airing the Badgers/Buckeyes game that's currently playing?

Wait a minute!!! Where's Vanek? Oh yeah, he didn't even get the nod from his own team. Bo knows Zach is the man No offense Bo, or Bo fans.

It seems like we saw a similar story to this one earlier in the year (late January I believe) when the Goofers started winning some games. In the span of a weekend, they turned that around and started talking about all of the team's faults. I see the Goofers as a team who, for the past two weekends, played a team that was slumping the last part of the year, and this is enough to convince some writers that they are back, and will continue their dominance in the post season. Unfortunately, they still have to get by a Duluth team that they have yet to beat, and hopefully a UND team who wants a little revenge on the Gophers from their last outing. The only thing I know for sure is that come Friday night, I'm a Bulldog fan!

I honestly don't think this as close as what people are making it out to be. The Hobey Baker is given to the best college hockey player. Zach Parise is head over heels better than any other player in the nation. His numbers are comparable to Bochenski's and everyone else up for consideration, but consider that he's had people draped over him the entire season, and he's played through it. He never gives up on a play, and doesn't turn to the Ref when he's being mauled to look for a penalty, he continues playing the game. Zach excels at what doesn't show up on the statistics, and that is the little things. He is always the hardest worker on the ice, no matter who he is matched up against. He can read a play better than anyone else I've ever seen. He hustles from the moment he takes the ice until the end of his shift. Bochenski deserves to be honored, by being named as an All American. He has great numbers, but the majority of his numbers in the past two years are connected to numbers that Parise has as well. I know he did well when Zach was at the World Juniors, but look at the last 13 games when the majority of the time, he has been on a different line then Zach. I don't see Bochenski out hustling Parise, and he admitted this weekend that it's a lot easier to get points when he's playing on a line with Zach (post game interview-Saturday night). I won't be surprised if neither of the guys get the award, but anyone who has seen Zach play, whether at the World Juniors or at UND, knows he's an elite player.

It would probably take a Gopher sweep in the first rounds for SCSU not to be considered. Oh wait, that happened. #1 seed is nice to have, but you still have to win the games up to the final game for it to matter.

Someone read the page wrong is the word from BC. No one knows, as of now, where BC will be going in the regionals. There's too much hockey left to be played before anyone can figure this out.

I agree to sit Prp for the night. No reason to rush him back this weekend. A lot of playoff hockey ahead. Kudos to Prp though. He spent an hour and a half after practice yesterday skating with some young kids. Totally made their day. Fuhr and Massen also skated with the kids. Says a lot about the character of some of the players on this team.

I've seen hits after the whistle all year long with no penalty called. Happens to Parise, Bochenski, and Murray all the time. It really depends on the Ref and unfortunately, I think it depends on which players are on the ice. And that's the reason I won't be surprised if Zach and Brandon do not return next year.

I never hide the fact that I love it when Canady is in the lineup. I've liked his style of play since I saw him in his freshman year. He plays a very similar style to Prp, and have always thought him and Prp would be great on a line together with someone like Fylling centering the line. Credit to Brian though, in his fine moments as a colorman on the radio, he said that he's a team player and will sit contently when Deano decides to play someone else. Have to love the team players.

I think Tech decided to stay for other reasons. It must be their Spring Break, and they wanted to enjoy the wonderful climate here in the Forks. They're probably spending their time away from practice fishing for some nice cats. Perhaps some of their players have entered the Cat's Tournament later this summer, and they're looking for the hot spots.
