Genoway playing with Oshie and Duncan tonight. Rest of the lines remaining the same as last week.

Interview with Lammy: Look at our last month, I think we've won 1 of last 6. I think everyone in the lineup has to get a little better and little more consistent. Have to get a little bit better defensively. Play within our system. Tighten up defensively so we don't have to put ourself in that position. Also, stay out of the box. Been taking penalties in the 3rd period to put us on the PK. The thing that's been difficult since the injury is that I still feel it every day. It's tolerable so I can play, but I've never had something that's lingered this long. For me personally, I just have to keep pushing forward. I know that things haven't gone well for me statistically or wins wise, and that's what you want. But I think it's just a matter of time until the tide turns and good things start happening. I have to put it together for both nights. When I can do that, I think I can be one of the top goaltenders in the league. I need to focus on the positives on what I am doing good. We go on a little bit of a break after this weekend, so our focus is on this weekend. Tech has beaten some good hockey teams as well so we understand they'll be a tough test. We'd like to leave on a good note, and use this as a springboard for the second half of the season.

TH interview with Lammy coming up. Should be interesting.

TH says Kaip is a healthy scratch tonight. EDIT: Foyt also healthy scratch.

It's varied. A few nights, it hasn't come up until 5 minutes or so before start of the game.

Coach Russel's pre-game comments: North Dakota's had some pretty darn good hockey team's here, which leads to our lack of success here. Played some very good games, ran in to some very hot goaltenders. Goepfert stole won for SCSU. Been hard to play hard but come away with no points in the league. Knew we were going to be challenged in scoring goals this year, so we've had to tighten up defensively, which we've done. Just came off playing the Gophers, so we should be used to the speed North Dakota brings. Have two talented kids in the net.

Definitely need 4 points this weekend boys!!!!!

Hak pre-game comments: Both teams in the building tonight need points. In many ways, we've been getting better and better, but when things aren't going your way, pretty good isn't good enough. Need some special performances by some of the players. Stick with basics. Need to get scoring from the depth of our lineup. Didn't get enough offense last weekend from two of our lines. That's a real key place for us to start. Tonight, if we can get a one-goal lead, can we build on that? A lot of times that we've done that, we haven't been able to build on that. Hopefully team speed will come to the table. Going to have to do it because they're a very good team defensively. We're going to have to be good. Going to have to come shift after shift. Very well could come down to specialty teams, goaltending and bounce of the puck. Want all of them on our side tonight. Goaltending is a building process. Phil coming off the injury, it really is a process. Can't just jump back in and feel that you're 100%. He's a competitve guy. Doesn't need any pressure from us or anyone else. Hope the guys, like Kozek, Zajac, Vande Velt feel more responsibility with Toews out of the lineup. Hope our fans can generate excitement. Hope we can give them something to be excited about. Excitement is huge to us.

Marty Brodeur would argue this one for goaltenders if it was ever done in an actual game shootout, as the rules say the puck has to constantly be in a forward motion, where here, he took it behind him. "Doc" Emery mentioned this a while back during a Devils game how Marty had questioned a few goals allowed in shootouts because of the forward motion issue. -

Did Greene forget he was a defensemen?? -
In Hak's first two seasons, he took us to the Frozen Four. Even if we end up having a mediocre season this year, I just don't see how it's justified to let him go to bring back Blais. As much as I love Deano, and would love to still have him as our coach, I don't think Hak's performance as coach warrants dismissal, regardless of the outcome of the season.

I'm going with Miller too. I like what I saw from him this past weekend, and I think that was largely due to his linemates. Very true about ZPar. Bochenski was a good college hockey player, but ZPar's hustle made him a great college hockey player. Bochenski didn't want to get left behind!

Yeah, that was when they had 10 or 11 guys suspended for some reason. They were required to sit 4 or 5 of them in each game, but did get to spread it out.
-
I'll charge you the same price as last year.

I have quite a few that I hope to share soon. Unfortunately at this time, one of my main pieces of video equipment is staging a strike and choosing not to work for me. Need to get that fixed.
-
Karl had a great philosophy. Just keep it simple and make one save at a time.
-
I can still hear Blais' voice from the bench yelling, "LEE!!!!"

Hopefully he's made the right choice for himself. Never like to see any player leave mid-season. Still remember Ryan Johnson leaving mid-season to go play for Canada. Hockey players want to play as much as possbile, and he wasn't getting a lot of ice time. Not saying he blames the coaches at all for this. I'm sure he understands the decisions the coaches have to make on who plays and who sits. I hope we see him back in the near future, but if we don't, best of luck to Hunter.

Lee Goren, Jason Ulmer, Jay Panzer, Teeder Wynne, and Adam Calder.......five former Sioux players in the past 10 or so years, who would most likely qualify under your standards as part of a weak freshman class, yet were imperative in the winning of national titles (except for Wynne who was the team MVP his senior year). We can't have a Parise, Zajac, Bochenski, or Murray every single year. You've come to expect too much from 17 and 18 years old. Maturity is different in everyone and development into good college hockey players take time.

So if I recall, a year ago when the Sioux were struggling, half the posters on this board were saying play Lammy rather than Parise. Two years ago, people were saying that Greene takes untimely penalties and he'll never amount to much in the NHL. It's amazing to see how many different players can be criticized during low points of a season. If you add it all the criticisms together, North Dakota doesn't have a good player on it's team outside of maybe Duncan, Miller, and Bina. It's one thing to say a player is performing below expectations, but if Lammy and Finley turn things around or the team starts winning, half the people who were criticizing will become supporters of these individuals.

Born in ND (Bismarck), raised in SD, joined the Navy and lived a variety of different places, moved to Grand Forks to go to college for 6 years; lived four more years in GF before moving to TN where I currently reside, but do I ever miss ND!

It's a difficult question to answer. Coaches are different from one another. Players tend to respond differently to different coaches. Some coaches try to get players to hate them to mold them as a team. Other coaches take the family approach (we're all a family here). I don't know the specific differences between Berry and Jackson, but because they are doing the same type of coaching doesn't make them the same type coach.

Parise put up 61 and 55 points in each respective year in college hockey with the clutching and grabbing. Where it may come into play somewhat, great players find a way to fight through it. I think Oshie resembles Parise a lot in his work ethic, but has to find a way to finish.

Amen! Let me give you one more! Amen!
