Hak mentioned it in the pre-game as well. Said he's basically telling them that they have to lead this team. If the other lines don't score, he expects them to contribute in some other way that will lead to a team victory.

Radke and Bishop healthy scratches again tonight. Only change is Forney out, Martins in.

Eaves pre-game comments: For us to get 4 goals, hopefully that's something that will start happening more. 1st period last night was a bi-product of having a few weeks of practice. A good first with sharp passes last night. Have some good habits now. Key point in the game was to respond to their goal with a goal of our own. Even if you don't score, you need a good first shift after the goal. The veteran's took the game under control last night when it appeared things were getting out of hand. Settled them down at times.

Hak's Pre-Game comments: Big play for their team was to come back after our 1st goal and respond with a goal of their own. Found a way to survive on the PK in the 2nd up until the last 5 minutes. Lammy is on the hotseat, as he's the last line of defense. However, every play, there's more people involved in the play. Lammy will come back tonight to see how he responds. Like what we did on our PP. Have to get pucks and bodies to the net, and thought we did a good job of that. Scored a rebound PP goal after Toews got buried in front of the net. We're growing, trying to build, and trying to learn. We're a team with some youth to it, and we're showing our youth. This isn't a time to get negative, especially with a young team. Keep things strong inside the locker room and try to move forward tonight. We need points tonight. We'll be in a dog fight tonight and the rest of the year. Have to do that one point, one game at a time. No heads have dropped in the locker room. The guys know they have to get better. We have 3 other pretty good lines who need to bring something to the table. If you're not scoring, you need to bring something else to the table. Putting T.J. Jonathan, and Ryan together tonight, and they need to lead the team in an offensive line. Forney out tonight and and Martins in tonight. Martins has played well for us. Took him out after some soft spots, but he's earned his way back in. He'll need to do the same for the next game. Have to be right on the edge tonight. Don't expect us to be over the edge in any way, shape, or form. Need to stay strong in the locker room as a team, and get through the tough spots.

Need a win tonight to come out of the weekend with 2 points. 35 minutes until game starts. Let's go Sioux!!!!

Karl Goehring was smaller but was able to do it. Size isn't the issue. At least they consistently suck! I won't blame our team's misfortune on the refs. As someone who works with kids with mental retardation, I get pretty annoyed with adults who can't think of a more educated insult. Live a day in the shoes of one of my kids and maybe you'll change your outlook. I've never even seen The Triouxper have to lower himself to this level of vocabulary. (That's a compliment Triouxper! )

I agree with you that Toews is not playing to the level that he's capable of right now. If I remember correctly, the same thing happened last year. When he returned from the World Juniors, he tore up the league. I'm hoping the same thing happens this year. I guess you could say that I'm passively optimistic about the remainder of the season for Jon. Hopefully he turns it around. Why has he struggled thus far? Your guess is as good as mine. I'm sure he is facing the other teams best defenseman and defensive forwards, but good players find a way to fight through that. Maybe North Dakota's system isn't the best system for Toews individual talents. Like I said, I don't know why. I do know that he excelled the latter part of last year and I'm hoping to see the same this year. As for Oshie, you continue to see his work effort but he hasn't been finishing like he did last year. I'm sure everyone's cued into him as well, however, with Oshie, he's still finding ways to get opportunities, he just hasn't had a lot of luck. He has had a hand injury so I'm sure that has had some type of effect on him. Hopefully, he'll be 100% very soon. I still think Lee is better than what a lot of people have been giving him credit for on this board. He has made some mistakes, I won't deny that, but so has everyone else on this team. No, I don't think Lee's ready for the NHL yet, which is why he's still in college. However, I think a lot of people will be missing him after he does leave, because I do think he'll make the necessary improvements and become a true asset to North Dakota. With that being said, I watched last night game along with everyone else, and saw him make a handful of mistakes, and yes, it was agonizing and I was yelling at the TV, but I still think he'll make the improvements he needs to make. With all that being said, Duncan is a fun one to watch play. I thought the article in the paper was very appropriate for him. He doesn't get a lot of attention from opposing teams, but I have a feeling he'll start getting that attention. He has been the most consistent player for our team this year. Anyone who watched the last half of last season knew that he'd be a force this year, and he definitely hasn't disappointed. Kudos Ryan!!! I refuse to blame any one player on this team. Hockey is and always will be a team sport. Individuals make mistakes, that's part of it. It's up to teammates to step in and help out when necessary. Goalies need to make the first stop and the other players have to be there to prevent rebound goals. Whatever the problems are on this team, they need to figure it out quick or we'll be watching our team lose a lot of games in the next few months. However, even if that will happen, I'll still be bleeding green. Go Sioux!

Don't know if there's anything that could have been done. JPar was ready to move on skill wise. Where it would have been nice to see him back for one more year, it's old news....he's not here so we can't really dwell on it. We need to figure out what to do with what we do have.
-
I think they're trying to prepare for the 2 defenseman who are going to be gone during the WJC by giving Chay some time on defense. Don't know if that's a wise choice when there's points at stake for the league.
-
He was a healthy scratch. Put Genoway back on D.
-
That is on page 1 so I'm not going to retype that.

I won't be surprised if Greico starts tomorrow night. Don't know about Walski. Greico didn't give up any goals. Granted, Wisconsin was in defensive mode for the period other than on their PP.
