  1. Appears David may be out tonight with the flu.
  2. I see there are leftover student seats for sale. Wish I were close by, but got kid's games in Minot. Bummer. Hope they leave some for Denver in March.
  3. Here's the link: mms://sioux.gfwireless.com/live This will open xl93 in windows media player. The station web site is: You'>http://www.xl93.com/ You can find available links to most D1 teams at this site: Has'>http://home.nycap.rr.com/mlewin/ Has worked well this year, except, was down for one game (think it was the Mich game in the GLI) (Edited by sprig at 6:15 am on Jan. 10, 2002)
  4. I think UAA
  5. Up to the 92 championship, Patrick's teams, from peewee or below on up, had won the biggest prize they could win each year. Then came the 83 selection debaucle (I'll never get over it). Patrick and classmates all played junioir in the SJHL, for the Notre Dame Hounds of Wilcox, Sask. They won the Canadian national juniors the year prior to becoming Sioux. Their goaltender=Curtis Joseph. (Edited by sprig at 5:25 pm on Jan. 8, 2002)
  6. So is Sabrina the official gopher goon protector. Not that I think Westrum qualified, although just seeing games on TV, I miss a lot. DeMarchi, on the other hand, sticks out on TV, just like Murray of Bucky. Hit someone in the back after every whistle when they're out there.
  7. Don't believe either of the stations Goon mentioned have any streaming audio, so probably not. Someone please correct me if they do.
  8. Sioux radio interviewed Somnor between periods Sunday. He said that Lucia recieved a verbal from a Canadian player, but can't say anything because of the rules. Wonder who that might be?
  9. Just finished watching
  10. DeMarchi needs to be Commodorized. And Weanie Shepard needs some balls. Or is he in bed with the Gophs?
  11. Adam may have missed how bad the hit was, but Shepard was there, and could have used the replay to enforce the DQ after the fact, like he did on Doman's. He didn't have the guts to do it to the Gophs, apparently. Tough listening to this on the radio, they had Adam doing a terrible one sided job. Guess I'll decide myself when I see the tape. Sioux announcers also wanted the faceoff that led to Leopold's gamewinner brought outside the zone, since Potulny froze the puck. ??? Don't know, can only listen?
  12. Yep, Mr. Hale is dangerous back there. Hold my breath every time he's back there alone with the puck. Goalie better be very focused when he tries the outlet pass up the middle, generally dead on an opponent's stick. I'd have to agree the Sioux did not get the forecheck going that worked at the GLI. MN did a fairly good job slowing them down with clutches and hooks. Got to beat those and put more pressure on the goph D. (Edited by sprig at 11:49 am on Jan. 6, 2002)
  13. Sent an email yesterday asking about what happened to "ice time" online. Response came back today conerning problems the Herald online was having, and that "the Sioux won last night". And that, Sioux sports fans, is the extent of the Herald's online coverage of the
  14. Nice to make someone (SL) who once seemed a "reasonable" Gopher fan turn to ranting the way he has after last night. Must be feeling very low to feel the need to let Sioux fans know (in a very condescending way) that the team stinks. He's gotten a bit full of himself lately, and apparently is having trouble handling being wrong. (Edited by sprig at 10:22 am on Jan. 6, 2002)
  15. Nothing up in "icetime" this morning yet. Wonder if we we'll get anything? (Edited by sprig at 8:53 am on Jan. 5, 2002)
  16. What station has the coach's show, and when does it air? Is it online? xl93?
  17. Best bet would be to call and order from Gerrells, 1-800-732-9478,
  18. Goon, Don't you owe someone in Minnie-soda a 6 already? Actually, I said I wouldn't be surprised if Kollar got a start, wouldn't be surprised if he didn't either. So, you'll just have to drink my Guiness yourself, and I'll keep your (insert cheapest stuff available here).:}
  19. I was in SD from 1979 to 1987 (returned to ND in Jan, just in time). Tough to keep up with Sioux hockey down there. Travelled up to Oakes (the cabin) to watch on public tv often, sometimes with the Bison faithfull. Wish they still did Sioux hockey. Can't even get Midco cable here anymore, since it was bought out by a local telco for our area, so televised Sioux hockey is rare. Drawn with a very low number for the 1983 FF in GF, supposed to get seats based on how low your were drawn. I was stuck in the top row behind a goal, thought it was because of my SD address that they gave me the worst seats. Plenty of room to move around to another seat, however.
  20. Don't know that Blais will throw Siembida (did I finally spell it right?) to the wolves (or is it just gophers) this weekend. Wouldn't be surprised to see Andy back in net one night if he practiced well this week.

    New Recruits

When this year's class are juniors, Parise a soph, and Murray a frosh, could be something to watch. Let's hope they all stick around.
  22. Archie used to drive us nuts by not controlling his temper and retaliating. Always in the PB; teams knew thay could get him to retaliate and used it to their advantage. Lost quite a few games because of it. Entertaining though, when they got into the major scrums with the likes of Wisco. (Edited by sprig at 9:10 am on Jan. 4, 2002)
