You could get a DVD burner. They're not that much One of my recorders I got from Wal-Mart. It shows online only but I bought mine from the store http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4891345 The DVR is basically a VCR but its stored digitally (like a computer hard drive). You can edit the commercials out (thats something most DVR's cant do) and then burn it to a DVD. I have my FTA box hooked to a stand alone DVD recorder/hard drive so I can record it to the HD, remove commercials and then burn to a DVD. I use to have a box with a PVR in it (Pansat 6000) and the thing was so buggy I sold it within a month. It would stu-stu-stutter on the screen and when you played back a recorded program Havent worked with the Dreambox before. wonder what kind of price tag is on it

I dont see why not. If they carried them last year they should this year. All the FSSN did was switch transponders

This year the only way to see some of the road games is if the opposing team has it on their FSN (as Wisco, MN, and sometimes Denver do) or if the FTA'ers luck out and find it.

sorry. SHould have been a little more clearer If you have satellite (dish or directv) and live in the FSN North area, you do not need the multisports pack to get FSN Wisconsin (only up for games). If you are out of the area (MN, ND, SD, WI) now this is where its fuzzy as I have heard both, you still do not need the multisports pack to see the Wisco games. College hockey is not blacked out. I know I have seen other colege sports on the alternate channels with just the regular package and not the multi sport (this is with DIsh Network). As for the FTA games, those 2 games against Wisco probably will be up there too. Wisconsin usually does beam them up via satellite so we MIGHT be able to get the games against the Sioux. Not guaranteeing anything.

bin they probably wont have all the games here. With 10 days left before the first Sioux game on FSSN, those who use their FTA recievers only for the Sioux games might want to warm them up and make sure its working fine and that the dish is aimed so you don't get shut out the first game The Sioux this year are on a different transponder and if you don't have a blind scan you have to enter the new info 12044 frequency V polarity 4880 symbol rate I have seen other games on this transponder and the signal is pretty good so a 30" dish will still be fine. To make sure the dish is aimed there are a couple ways to make sure the signal is good. If you have a blind scan receiver (some may say smart scan) do a scan. If you don't, there are a couple transponders to enter and check signal. ABCNewsNow and ABCNewsOne are on the same satellite. One is at 11955 frequency V polarity 3978 symbol rate and the other is at 11960 V 3978 the frequency may be off by one or two but thats fine. Both of these are pretty strong (they show a 90 on my Pansat). Or this weekend (Saturday) at 2:00 CDT Montana Grizzlies football will be on 12044 frequency (same as the Sioux will be on) V 6148 symbol rate I used this 2 weeks ago to tweak my dish for the best signal. Heck even on neutral games Mazooker & Wooger will pull for somebody. When they do the final 5 they always pick a team to root for. But unless the game is on a national network, most announcers are local guys who will put a little more into their teams announcing.

I forget which one is where but one is at 11955 freq V 3978 symbol rate and the other si at 11960 V 3978 Also, Montana Grizzlies football likes to use IA8 for games. 2 weeks ago they used the same frequency as the Sioux will use. I didnt know it was going to be on IA8. Honestly this one was "a stumble upon" game. I walked in the house at 5:35 and thought "god wouldnt it be funny if WDAY used the same transponder as the FSSN" so I scrolled to it. last week Montana had used the same transponder but different symbol rate (12044 V 6148) and when I selected it, the TP lit up. I was like "no way" and hit scan and it came up as "WDAY SNG". I rescanned to see if the symbol rate was different which it was (6111) but it was close enough to hit the first time. Honestly it was a fluke. The first 15 minutes the only people who got to see the game on T were the FTA'ers since WDAY was still showing Oregon Normally sporting events come up 15-30 minutes before game time.

oh ok I didnt know. I figured they'd pre-empt the last little bit of the Oregon game because its the "local" team they were going to televise

What does the FSSN have to do with an ABC station other than the fact DAZ supplies the programming for it? The FSSN is for Sioux games and is a hard feed from the Ralph/Alerus Center.

I was able to pick up the feed for the game via the free to air system and that announcer was horrible. Was there some issues the first 15 minutes of the game on the DAZ/DAY feed? There was no audio from the announceres (just the crowd noise), then a god awful test tone for 5 minutes, then they finally got it going but it was a6:35 before the audio was fixed) I wasnt watching it, I was seeing how the signal was for the real reason that transponder is used The FSSN Wanted to make sure the dish was tweaked for hockey

it was on all the ABC stations in ND

I dont know if its of any importance since this is a SIOUX board NoDak State vs. Northeastern football (that WDAY/WDAZ etc are showing) is on FTA IA8 (same satellite as sioux) 12044 freq V polarity 6111 symbol rate

oh yeah that minor detail Actually ABC is on board with Dish. So they're just waiting on FOX & NBC what is dumb is those stations are owned by the same people that own the NBC in thast market also own NBC in Fargo. CBS is different owners as is Fox (didnt Fox have issues with the local cable company too?)

This was posted over at Satelliteguys For those of you with Dish Network in the Minot/Bismark/Dickinson areas, if you have locals through Dish, you needed a 2nd dish to get them. Not anymore at the end of the month You'll just need the regualr Dish500 dish

Bin I did find the Montana State/Chadron State game yesterday (even though everything I read said "no tv" AMC5 and same spot as last year...

The Classic reads the signal a little low. I had a 65 on the Fortec Ultra. I know my dish is peaked (I have a fixed dish at IA8 and was out before hand peaking the signal) so that signal is right All LNB's seem to have a little "slack" when blind scanning so that is normal. A couple off the published numbers is fine. I blind scanned it at 12043 V 6147 so mine was off too
