So. If anyone missed it or doesn’t have Twitter  UND plays at Minnesota ON Thanksgiving. Thursday/Friday series to accommodate the Saturday  Gopher/Badger football game.

Was prepared for Thanksgiving weekend, not actually Thanksgiving

They said they wanted to avoid a Saturday game. Fine by me, so why not a home and away series?

Oh come on, Mafia...that's reffing in the playoffs.  And yes, I get it - slashing and breaking a player's stick is typically a penalty, but it goes both ways. I suppose that was the PK that the Bruins were on when Krejci got that weak penalty for "elbowing" (or whatever they decided to call it) on Sammy Blais?  That was a gift to the Blues and should never have been called.

And I'm sure you're just as miffed that David Perron didn't get a penalty for wrestling Torey Krug to the ground and ripping his helmet off and then hog tying him right in front of Rask (and the ref)?

I'm not saying Perron didn't deserve a penalty, but Krugg initiated that conflict, held/tackled Perron as well, and then arguably charged Thomas.

He wasn’t shy about bashing the weather.  He also never took his Texas plates off his Bronco, so his long term commitment was never there.

That's kind of creepy that you know what plates he had...

So which team is going to hire Hak. I’m sure he is at the top of the list but can a startup afford him?

I'm sure he has recieved several calls. Despite what philly fans and press think he did fairly well there. I personally think he's avoiding long term contracts to see what happens to Berry next year.

I don't think that's the case, though. The hockey-only mouthbreathers will always side with anything Engelstad and the faculty will hate a Republican who cut programs.

I don't see a significant movement in the public opinion.

I know several faculty on both sides of the political aisle that likely cheered. MK made few friends at UND and it has more to do with his lack of tact, transparency, and just general leadership than it does budget cuts. People can understand budget cuts. However he did so with the grace of a blind surgeon using a rusty machete who ignored everything his nurses told him.

  6. You guys are looking at this all wrong. We need to get coaches with the same name as Notre Dame coaches. Find some other guy named Mike Brey. Then when they are recruiting they can just say, "hey I'm coach Brey from UND..."

I can never blame anybody for wanting to spend time with their families.  Given Jones story in the article posted by Miller, I can certainly understand.

Jones wasn't perfect by any stretch.  My first year at UND was during the dreaded attempted of a) copying the Miles "redshirt so you can give the seniors a crack at the tournament" and b) the Princeton offense.  It didn't go very well.  I do give him credit for scrapping it the next year (and knowing when to change if something wasn't going to work).

With that said, he did lead UND to the promise land and honestly, with a little better luck and the NCAA not screwing over Nash, he could have gone at least 1 or 2 more times with the Huff group.

I wish him the very best.

Now.... UND needs to make a good hire and the time has come to start to support this program.  Enough of the shoestrings.

Now this thread can finally be over.

Given the pessimism I frequently see in this page, it will probably be replaced by "Fire coach..." after their first loss.

Knowing and dealing with her and her family in the past.....

"Integrity" isnt even in the same language as the words to describe them.

UND has had enough of the aged political has beens.

Find a leader, not a politician.

    Leadership and integrity.

Well I'd like to nominate myself. As a now twice graduate (well, come may) of UND,  both of Aerospace I clearly have a tie to the University.

I'm a Captain,  so I have leadership experience (hopefully my airmen agree it's been good).

In the Air Force, we are taught integrity first as a core value.

Also, I'm only 30 so I'm not aged!

As a bonus, with my tie to UND aerospace and Air Force officer experience, I'm basically President Clifford.

Only thing is, I still owe the Air Force 2 years. But that shouldn't be a problem as senior administrators can telework according to President Kennedy.

Bring back Hak, call them Co-Head Coaches. Anything to get a little fire under these guys.

Lol. That would be some pretty bleak writing on the wall for Berry.

Does Atlantic Hockey Association continue to progress toward competitive equity with ECAC and Hockey East?

Ever since they raised their scholarship max to 18, their winning percentage in non conference continues to move up (slowly).

That's a steep climb for them but I'd love to see it happen.

  11. Well unrelated to coaching changes, but I brought my wife and six year old daughter to GF for the first time and we did a tour of the Ralph. I think my daughter's favorite parts were staring/salivating at the hockey players in their gym and the 2 men's basketball players we saw playing at the Betty.

What is sad is people bringing up the fact we don't have hockey in the media. Why doesn't Brad post about our former baseball, S&D, and wrestling sports while he is at it. People react to what is printed, not just out of thin air.

Teams...as in plural?   No, they are sympathetic to one team and one team only.

Yes teams. Not just WIH although they are the only one most people seem to care about.

I see Brown is the host for the Providence regional. So the committee put Providence in that region because they want to make money.

Didn't Providence get "put" in Providence once before and knocked off Miami.

Not saying a lot of this undoing  is MSU's fault this afternoon, but it sure seems like a sweet deal that some teams just get to play in their home town without actually having to pony up the money and be a host.

In the future, let's just have Bemidji State host a regional in Fargo, so the NCAA committee can put us in there.

Yeah. Realistically it's a major flaw in how they they do the bracket.
